    Sunday Brunch

Simply, another fantastic meal at Dixboro Project! My bestie is visiting from out of town and I wanted to take her out for a special lunch. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and then enjoyed Squash Blossoms which were tempura battered and stuffed with ricotta. They were amazing! We both tried a Parisian Chicken Entree, that was rich & savory! We had an absolute blast enjoying the food and catching up!

I love Dixboro and tell people about it every chance I get. Their dinner and brunch menus are ever-changing and based on seasonal and fresh ingredients. The ambiance and decor is modern and tasteful with lots of natural light and earthy touches. I came with a friend recently for brunch and we got the duck confit egg benedict and it was so good. The Boro is their bakery that sells freshly baked goods and pastries and delicious coffees & teas. I've had their lemon bar and garlic cream cheese croissant recently and they were delicious. The bakery menu also changes.

Finally made it in to check out brunch here. Amazing menu with delicious options. Shared the babka French toast which was excellent. The egg sandwich was phenomenal. The raclette burger was top notch. We also shared a scone which was amazing. Great service, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. Looking forward to a future stop.

I went here to check it out because I have never been here before. I would definitely recommend reservations. You can't even sit at the bar without them when it is busy. I was chased away from the bar because I did not have a reservation. I gave the host my name and waited for about 45 minutes. There is a decent amount of parking. I would consider this place a little on the upscale side although casual. It is attached to a take out spit called the Boro. We finally got a seat at the bar. I decided on the salad and a drink. The salad was great and was a nice size. I also tried to pepperoni pizza which was a tasty pizza. Not too much dough, sauce or cheese overpowering it. The prices can get steep here. A salad was $20 without protein. However, it is a nice place to go for a meetup or event. I am glad I finally checked it out.

I went for brunch with some friends for Galentine's and it was such a treat! First the space is so beautiful and rustic. It's cozy yet elevated and perfect for a special event with friends. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. The food was phenomenal! Probably the best in Ann Arbor. We loved the pizza and the Apple Miso pancake. The coffee was great too. I will definitely be back

My wife and I stopped by on a whim. She wanted to share one of her favorite spots. We were able to get a table during Sunday brunch. Reservations are recommended. Dining is upscale but not stuffy. INGREDIENTS make a difference. Seasonal items are featured in their dishes. Although lite, our meal checked all the boxes. Flavor, freshness and texture. So good. I enjoyed a pear ginger cider with my meal. I hoped for more ginger flavor to come through but it was refreshing nonetheless. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back to try more of what's on the menu.

My hubby and I passed by at 3:45pm on a Friday and were seated although we don't have a res. They only serve pizza and some appetizer before 4pm so we were right on time for the dinner menu. I love the atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant, and our servers were attentive and friendly. We ordered caesar salad, dozen oysters, mushroom pizza (good but get cold quickly), butternut squash gnocchi, shells n cheese, pommes aligot , and all of these dishes were salty excluding the pizza, salad, and oysters. I am unsure if it is a Michigan palette thing (I recently moved here from California), but half of the food we ordered were very salty. I couldn't even have a 3rd bite and have to throw away our leftovers the next day cause it didn't get any better. Apparently, we won't come back here because the food palette here is just not for us. P/s: Be careful at the thin water glass because I got served with a chipped top glass and almost cut my lower lip. The server apologized and changed a new glass for me. However, I honestly think the glass is so fragile, and they should change it.

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed dixboro yet. This is the best restaurant near Ann Arbor in my opinion. The food is amazing and always fresh and innovative. I have been 3 or 4 times now and it gets better and better every time. The brunch is amazing but dinner is better. The steak tartare is great! I liked the oysters, the mushroom pizza is a must get and the pumpkin pasta that they had in season this fall was wonderful. The steak you can skip, it was more potatoes than meat. For brunch the burger, French toast, and cookie are all great. The cocktails are also very fun and yummy. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! I recommend to everyone and bring all my friends for special occasions. The service is also good, I've been for an anniversary and 2 birthdays and they are very attentive and rotate by the table an appropriate amount. Huge fan!!

We had a wonderful Valentine's day dinner date at Dixboro house. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

I came here for a wedding - so a unique experience! I've only been here during Covid, so I actually got coffee and sat outside in the cold. The entire restaurant was closed for the wedding. They did a great job utilizing the entire space. The ceremony was in the back room. Then transformed into one of the dining rooms and then eventually the dance floor. The area by the bar was open for people to socialize during cocktail hour. Cocktail hour: bartenders were great! There were few select cocktails we could choose from. Dinner was shared family style: - bread: soft and yummy! - Caesar salad: you can't mess up a Caesar salad - steak: this was good - chicken: not dry! - cod: this was good - potatoes: this was good and a lot of people's favorite dish. - carrots: I really liked this and the sauce it came with - apple pie with ice cream: there wasn't enough ice cream for the apple to pie ratio. Too many apple pieces for me! Service was amazing!! There were a lot of servers (probably more than necessary) but they did an amazing job of constantly checking on us (but not in an overbearing way). There were few people who stood out to me but I sadly forgot their names. I think one of the bartenders was Becca (she was blonde)! There were 2 female servers who were lovely as well. One had glasses, maybe Mandy was her name? Thanks Dixboro for a memorable experience and for the best night ever for my friends who got married!!

A view of the restaurant. We were here for an early dinner, so it wasn't overly crowded.

Would like to clarify up front that this is not a breakfast place- at least not only. My friend and I recently were here for an early dinner and it was amazing! This restaurant can be a casual meal or drinks on the outside deck or a nice lunch or dinner inside. The ambiance is overall upper scale casual, but definitely heavier on the "upper" part. It's a lovely restaurant with eclectic vibes. Below, I've posted a photo of part of the restaurant. It's very charming. While some of the artwork is modern, the dinner ware is older style. It all blends together well. Upon being seated, we were promptly greeted by a charming server. We began our meal by sharing a beautiful garden salad with tomatoes from the outside garden. The greens were a combination of baby spinach and arugula I believe, with some squares of a mild cheese and those delicious homegrown tomatoes! The dressing was a homemade buttermilk that wasn't overly thick- just right! For dinner, we both opted for the Shrimp Spaghetti Dinner, with dill and a rich creamy sauce. It came with Parmesan cheese on top. It was delicious, with fresh dill and parsley. The shrimp were sliced but could tell they were large shrimp. It was a fabulous dinner, though I'll caution you that it was very rich. While neither of us finished our large portion, we decided not to take home leftovers. It was a delightfully large portion, but honestly too rich for leftovers. I would definitely recommend the Dixboro Project for a very fine meal and ambiance. It could be for a special occasion or just because you want a deliciously special meal!

A very unique venue with great food and a lively a ambiance. This has become one of our fav's. A changing menu that always features fresh, farm-to-table ingredients and features. They also usually have staples on the menu, one example is their Pizza's which are really good. On this occasion we started with the Brussel sprouts with blueberry, feta and pistachios. Amazing flavors and very tasty. Sorry, no pic, got to excited and ate them! :) Our entree's consisted of the Beef Bourguignon Gnocchi with red wine, crispy onions and crème fraiche. The preparation was amazing, beef was cooked perfectly, moist, tender and all the flavors blended very well. We also had the Caesar Salad, with house made croutons and shaved Parmesan. Great craft cocktails. Staff is very friendly and attentive to servicing their guests. Definitely recommend Dixboro Project.

    Steak tartare
    Devon P.

The steak tartare was good! The onions were a bit strong though and overpowering. It was also acidic. I liked how the bread was not too thick, but some of the pieces were burnt; some people may like that but it was too far done for my liking. The Margherita pizza was good! The sauce was sweet so the chili oil was definitely needed. The soft landing cocktail was delicious and refreshing. There is complimentary valet which is nice because the parking lot is kind of tight. The staff were friendly and the interior is lovely!

We arrived approximately 15 minutes before our reservations and were seated immediately in the sparsely filled restaurant. Their air conditioning was refreshing after a long day in the sun. Their menu has a Louisiana flair, so I ordered the chicken-and-sausage gumbo and had their étouffée as my main course. The dishes are very similar in content, except that the étouffée included crawfish and shrimp and came with two pieces of bread. Both were very good, but we're a little light on the Cajun spices. I enjoyed a soft parade pint of beer from their vast craft beer and wine menu. Others in my party of five enjoyed their salad with a protein pizza and a cheeseburger. They have low-top, high-top, booth, and bar seating, along with outdoor patio seating. Full bar. The interior has a knotty wood finish with a somewhat industrial feel. The building used to hold Civil War barracks. Clean restrooms. Excellent service. Pricey. Parking can be difficult. They have posted 3% surcharge fee that references fast-rising expenses. They do not charge a credit card fee, so I guess it balances out. I would recommend.

Yelp…read morehas allowed me to chronicle these adventures, serving as a repository for my dining memories. Echelon has now made it to my exclusive list of 5-star restaurants. I readily admit to being a tough reviewer - very few places earn a 5. Allow me to share some of the reasons: Service was stellar. The staffers were professional and friendly. They quickly brought out each course and cleared the table efficiently. They were tireless in answering my many questions about the ingredients. I prefer tasting menus. For me, after the first few bites, my taste buds get fatigued. The six-course tasting menu, with its complex flavors and textures, kept me interested throughout the meal. The dining room was spacious and well-appointed, without being stuffy and overwhelming. I loved the table groupings and comfy seats, whimsical wall coverings, oversized lighting, and wall of windows. I believe the tasting menu changes; I had: - A bite of brick dough (I had to look it up) pastry, served with a tart, faintly bitter rhubarb soda for a palate cleanser. - The Kanpachi crudo arrived with smoky fanfare. It was served with agua fresca and droplets of chili oil, topped with watermelon radish. I loved the fatty, slippery fish paired with the acidic, fresh, and spicy liquid. - My favorite course was the wood-roasted maitake mushroom in a shoyu glaze, topped with shallots, with a red pepper sauce. I wouldn't have minded a main entrée of these savory, meaty mushrooms. - Next up was the sesame seed-encrusted shrimp toast on Japanese milk bread. It was served with lobster bisque and tiny lobster tail skewers. I am very familiar with deep-fried shrimp toast, a dim sum staple, and loved the novelty of black and white sesame seeds. The bisque was rich and flavorful, while the lobster tail was sweet and delicious. It was such a variety of flavors on one plate. - I never had Cappelletti before and enjoyed the pasta stuffed with a manchego-ricotta mix. It was served with more mushrooms (yay!), buttermilk froth, and fried shallots. - The restaurant considered the Wagyu bavette the star of the tasting menu. While I liked the tender beef, peppercorn demi-glace, potato croquettes, and creme fraiche topped with bacon, I still preferred the mushroom course. - The grapefruit granita and compressed grapefruit were another nice palate cleanser. - The dessert was as beautiful as it was creative. Sunchoke ice cream and crispy sunchoke straws enhanced the chocolate hazelnut flavors. I only wish a duck course was available on the day of my visit. It was offered a few weeks earlier.

Mostly that it's a bit overpriced for the portions. They do have vegetarian options but not a lot. It's one of those cases where you can pay $20 for a plate of vegetables and expect that to be a full mean but if you eat meat or fish you're getting something a bit more substantial. I was hesitant to come for just dinner and order à la carte for that very reason. So instead: we came for the vegetarian tasting menu. They offer a vegetarian, vegan or pescatarian (as well as regular Meat) tasting menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays only and it's 5 or 7 courses. We did 5 which was plenty. It was a very vegetable-forward meal but it was a good way to try their menu. I do wish they had more vegetarian protein offerings but again, the flavors were fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive and was able to explain each dish with detail. I'll def come back but I hope they offer some protein options like beans or tofu or something for their herbivore friends!

My first visit was for brunch, and it completely won me over. The buffet had a wonderful variety of food, the mimosas and cocktails were delicious, and for the quality, variety, and service you get, the price point is very fair. I left thoroughly impressed. I came back for lunch excited to experience it again, and while the staff was just as warm and the environment just as great, however, this time the lunch menu didn't quite live up to my expectations. They offer salads, sandwiches, mac and cheese and similar American-style comfort food, which is totally fine, but for a restaurant of this caliber I was hoping for something a little more exciting. I ended up ordering a salad with added shrimp, which was absolutely delicious, and a pomegranate rosemary lemonade that was incredibly refreshing - perfect for a summer day-. But if you're not in the mood for sandwiches, salads, or mac and cheese, your options are pretty limited. My suggestion: keep doing everything you're doing because the hospitality and atmosphere are truly special, but consider expanding the lunch and dinner menu for those looking for a heartier or more diverse meal.

We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.
