The strawberry shortcake. It was layers of shortbread and vanilla ice cream, with whipped cream and strawberries throughout.

I ordered the mac attack burger and it was supposed to come with Cajun fries. The burger was bland. Hardly any Mac n cheese on it, and no barbecue sauce. I had to add a bunch of ketchup just to add flavor so that it didn't taste like I was straight up eating a plain beef patty. The Cajun fries were also bland and I don't understand how they were "Cajun". There was no seasoning whatsoever, they were just soggy, overcooked, oily fries. We decided to order alcoholic beverages after we ordered our food, but our waiter didn't come to check on us until we were finished with our food. We were there to celebrate a birthday so we ended up getting a strawberry shortcake dessert to share. They are massive and could feed at least four people. The dessert was good and the only positive experience I had at this place. While everyone in my party was annoyed at the lack of service, everyone else did seem to enjoy their food. I would not recommend what I ordered, it was the blandest food I've ever eaten at a restaurant.

I have been to this place several times and really enjoy it. They have a great happy hour with 27 ounce drafts for $3.50. For an appetizer, we tried the pizza rolls which were pizza roll in an eggroll and it was super good for dinner. I got a steak and cheese sandwich. I thought it was OK but my husband loved it. We also tried the salmon and rice, which was very good as well. Our server was great and we will be back again.

Great cool place in ypsi. Depot town specifically. Huge patio too and heated in the winter time. Sit back and watch the trains roll by while sipping and ale and having some Irish/American fare. Reuben's are good and soups are usually spot on!!

I'm from Grand Rapids, a local friend wanted to take me here. The burger was sooo good! The fries fantastic, the pickles hello did you see that batter? I had left overs which I'm hoping my air fryer cooks well! My friend said the bean soup was amazing as she has had in the past. I would go back. I mean how can you go wrong with homemade pickles and a seeded hamburger bun?!

I told Ariel, (waitress) the last time I was at the Sidetrack I had a burger and potato footprints. But they were not on the menu. The last time I was there was 1981! We laughed, she said she hadn't heard of them. A few minutes later she came out with an order of footprints and the manager. He thought they were a great idea. Maybe they will put them on the menu. Friendly service, great atmosphere super good food. The hod fudge brownie was unbelievable!!

We sat at the bar grabbed mock tails and dinner. It has been awhile since we have stopped in and we are glad we did. There was a wait when we got there at 7 which was fine and was moving fast. We jumped to the bar to eat dinner instead, it looked like they will a little short handed on staff but that made no difference, food was amazing, staff was friendly and we had a great time! We will definitely not wait so long next time! Fyi my favorite burger in town!

Went to hang out with friends after going to a little art show. I do want to say the food was OK. The service is pretty good. I had a server named Danny . He was fast and efficient, and he was honest and funny about everything! food came out fast but it wasn't really hot. I do have to say the fried zucchini was amazing . The burgers were pretty good. The mac & cheese was mid.

Best happy hour in Ypsi! They have awesome beer deals, like 27oz of Two Hearted for a great price. Plus, the egg rolls are a steal, definitely try the Big Mac egg rolls. The vibe is chill, and the staff is friendly without being too much.

    How are they handling COVID?

There is a Facebook review from a former employee that states that they haven't followed any rules to keep patrons or staff safe.

I can't recall if they have air conditioning?

They do in all areas except the private room above Frenchie's. It can get pretty stuffy with a bunch of people.

We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.

My partner first went to the bar in person to ask about the charge and request a copy of the receipt. According to him, the owner got in his face and suggested that he had been too intoxicated to remember what happened that night. Instead of providing the receipt, the business continued giving both of us the runaround. After my partner called me, I spent three days trying to obtain the receipt. I wanted to see the itemized charges and the signature because someone had apparently signed the receipt to authorize the transaction, and I wanted to know who had done so. On July 28, I called again. During that conversation, the owner hung up on me three times. I called back because the issue was still unresolved. He then threatened to call the police and accuse me of harassment for continuing to request the receipt. The owner asked whose card had been used. I told him it was my card and that my partner had permission to use it, but the bar did not have permission to add or approve unauthorized charges. He responded that he had not stolen my money. I told him that while he may not have personally taken it, I believed an employee may have processed an unauthorized charge and that the business was refusing to help clarify what happened. We finally received the receipt only after I explained that my partner had contacted the city to ask about the proper way to peacefully protest outside the business. I also made it clear that none of that would be necessary if Powell's Pub simply provided the receipt we had been requesting for three days. My concern was not only the amount charged. My concern was that someone appeared to have signed a receipt authorizing the charge, and we needed documentation to determine whether the signature and transaction were legitimate. Until we could review that receipt, we had no way to know who authorized it. I am sharing this experience so other customers know to review their charges carefully, save their receipts, and request documentation immediately if something does not look right. A request for an itemized and signed receipt should not require three days of phone calls, an in-person confrontation, threats involving the police, and the possibility of a public protest.

While I'm not that into sports, I can appreciate a good sports bar. Perhaps that's the critical piece here. This seems to be a really fun place to watch a Michigan football game on one of the 10,000 TVs. Even a minor game where not much is at stake will have patrons cheering at every moderately good play. But Brandon A. suggested Fraser's has "great burgers, excellent beer selection, great drinks at fantastic prices and great service...as long as you abide by one simple rule: don't be an asshole." That hasn't been my experience. They have adequate burgers, but there are significantly tastier and cheaper burgers available in town. The beer list is fine, but I have yet to find anyplace in Ann Arbor with an actually excellent beer selection. Admittedly I'm spoiled by my favorite small tap room which is several states over, and I miss deeply. However, it did give me an appreciation for what it means for a place to have an excellent beer selection. My Euchre Pils was $7 and served in a plastic cup. Maybe I'm old, but that does not feel like a fantastic price. And the service? On my most recent visit it took a long time for anyone to come by with menus, and an even longer time before anyone returned to take a food order. I tried flagging down a server, but none were making eye contact. It appears the servers work in some kind of zone defense, as every part of our experience seemed to be handled by a different person. It was uncomfortable to the point where we felt unwelcome and considered leaving. But we had already been there so long we were committed to seeing it out. For the record, I'm not an asshole. I still tipped over 25% on the food. I can't say I'm a fan of the 4% fee to use a credit card, or the $.75 charge for a little side of mayo for the fries. All told, it was $50 for two burgers, one beer, and an onion ring up-charge. Not exactly a cheap meal. So far I've braved the burgers, I've sampled the sliders, and sunk my teeth into a sandwich. I've tried the fries and onion rings. Everything was just kinda okay, but nothing has risen to the level of "ooh that's good". What am I missing? I want to love the place. It's close to where I live, which makes it mighty convenient, but unless someone can offer me a compelling reason to give it another try, I'm unlikely to return.
