The Tangent INN is pushing 90 years old, and I love the it for the historical aspect. It is definitely top notch American bar food. Lot's of different types of people, from farmers to bikers and everyone in between. We stopped in for a bite to eat, Karaoke was on the loud speaker and pool balls were being racked. The guests seem to be friendly. Servers were friendly enough too. We ordered a Steak and a Burger. And the fact that the food came out piping hot was incredible. You do not know how many high end places I have gone to where the food is lukewarm. And I LOVE FRESH COOKED HOT food, skillet to table. Everything was delicious, and it would have received 5 stars but my steak was more of a medium even though I asked for medium rare. Great flavor though, spiced well, butter on top was the kicker. I can not say much for the burger, it wasn't mine, but I can tell you, it was gone before I was done. Looked really appetizing too. The food, service, and ambiance are all great. Our bartender Katie treated everyone with warmth and kindness and the general atmosphere was pleasant. We three ordered the famous tangent burger that had a slice of cheddar spilling over in a crunchy cheese lover's treat. I'm giving a two because the service is good. The food sucks though. This is a breakfast review, the bacon is paper thin deep fried it had grease pooling on top of it, hash browns are also deep fried more grease on plate, the biscuit was cold not fresh the gravy cold needs some flavor my husbands toast not even toasted. Coffee cold, put cream it was old and made lumps. Everything was cold. Even the building. One cook came out standing by kitchen door eating something I hope he washed, there was another older woman in and out of the kitchen eating at the end of the bar coughing a lot. The food was extremely delicious, and the people and their warm, happy interactions seriously made my day! Food is good but but their prices are not. They charge for take-out orders and a ridiculous fee to use a credit card. Not aware of any other tavern or restaurant that charges you a fee. So, I upgraded to 5 stars for soft Taco Tuesday. However returning for dinner I ordered the elk sliders and was excited I grew up eating elk. Let me just say it is a shame that poor elk died for these. I was starving I ate half of the first of two and it was so dry I had to wash it down with my soda. What a wonderful find. I'll admit that I was very skeptical about going to a bar. From the outside of the building this place looks like a dive. Inside was AWESOME!! It was very clean and organized. There was no cigarette or old stale smell. The custom made tables and bar was a nice addition. The staff was nice and helpful. There was a lot to choose from on the menu and they have daily specials. The food was great. The portions were pretty big and we weren't able to finish everything. The prices felt reasonable for the quality and quantity. I'll definitely be back. read more

Went once a couple years ago for dinner and the burger was absolutely terrible, didn't plan on going back but heard they had a decent breakfast now so figured I'd give it a shot. Not terrible, but not good either, says hashbrowns on the menu, wasn't hashbrowns but frozen potato squares that weren't even cooked all the way, gravy was meh, eggs were fine and the chicken steak fingers were ok. Be careful where you sit outside... my bar stool fell through a gopher hole and I hit my head on a something metal (a jack maybe) and my shoulder and tailbone... many bruises and probably should've had my head checked out. The owner responded with we can't keep up with the gophers, we probably shouldn't have these stools out here and I'll comp your next round. Ordered jalapenos poppers which were still frozen, asked for tots instead which were great. When paying the owner had not informed the bartender of the comped drink. Went here with my aunt's and uncles today. The waitress was very friendly and made recommendations Food portions are very big And everyone was pleased with the flavors. We ordered a variety of burgers including the Tangent burger, pastrami burger, jalapeno popper burger and a chili burger. I want to come back and try the breakfast (it's a good menu) and want to see this place succeed. The only negative is one plate needed a reheat and the server had to be flagged down so we could order (most people don't need that much time to decide). I definitely recommend this place. This place serves up a good cheeseburger! It's a no frills sort of place. Minors allowed in half the establishment and a bar occupies the other half. Pleasant staff. No kids menu but the apps are well priced and there's a pizza on the menu that my kids split. The pizza crust is just fried up cheese with toppings. Went there again. Came in at 4 and had descent service, then she got off and the service went down hill. Sat here for over an hour and half and nobody came to check on are table at all. I had to go up to the bar and ask for a box. I really wish service was much better. When I don't have my husband with us service really really sucks. I moved to Tangent end of June and drive by this place every single day to and from work. I want to stop Everytime to grab a drink. Finally, since football was on today and I needed a Broncos fix, me with no TV, got the chance to go! Grabbed a couple beers, some hot wings, sat at the bar with a TV. Little off the beaten path, if you're freeway driving, which we were. But a great find. Ordered a chicken sandwich (forget the name of it, something mustard), was freaking huge. Very tasty. Wife ordered a French dip, likewise very generous portion. She had cold slaw, which she liked. I had "tots," that spent a bit too long in the fryer. A little too crispy for my taste. We went there the other night with a group of people for taco tuesday. We had other food too. The taco's were not good and the meat had no seasoning. The nachos were really bad and none of the boys would eat any of it. My french dip was good after I ordered cheese and horse radish but otherwise it was just bread and meat. The deep fried mushrooms were so burnt that they weren't edible and the waiter took it off the bill (not sure why they served them that way in the first place). The steamer clams and scallops were good. I think the clincher was when they charged me 5.00 to pay the 135.00 tab. I guess that was their way of thanking us for choosing their restaurant over a different restaurant in town. Beware, they will charge you to pay your bill if you don't pay with cash.
