I mean who doesn't love a good Dixie Queen moment! I know I do, especially when it's the middle of the afternoon and being able to avoid the long line. I had a taste for some good ice cream and they saved the day with a Oreo Humdinger! Omg, it was the perfect amount of cream and cookies mixed together. It was literally made to perfection. The customer service was friendly and fast. Great spot. Be sure to go at the right time. If you are from Memphis you know how the wait time can be. Just left Dixie Queen on Austin Peay from the drive-thru window just to get all the way home to find my order of Onion rings for over $2.00 only had 3 burnt crusty dried-out what was supposed to be onion rings. I am so mad cause this was my dinner & the cook mess me over & ripped me off. I call myself checking my order before I left; everything on top looked ok, but the onion rings was buried at the bottom of bag. I trusted that they would just do their job; but nooo....too much like right. Then you wonder why workers get shot thru the windows.. I decided to get out early and shop for household supplies & groceries for the week. Stopped by this location because I did fairly well with my budget. I asked for a cheeseburger combo everything on it except mayonnaise. I was asked would I like mustard. I said yes.. made sure to say the full word mayonnaise & not mayo. It was repeated back to me. So me and my brother went to Dixie Queen because we were craving wings. Once the woman taking our order started talking she immediately had attitude towards us. She was raising her voice extremely loud because she couldn't "hear" us when we have gone there before and used the same tone of voice. We got our order and both wing combos were mixed up. Mostly visiting this establishment is a hit or miss in itself but to inform others this establishment is not open 24 hours maybe on the weekends and that's a big maybe but during the week mainly they probably close midnight till 1 AM so don't even waste your time if you're getting off work hungry Maybe the wings will be fried to a Chris with no type of meat or maybe they will be seasoned to perfection all depends on the cook so that tells you a lot about the restaurant and itself it's never the franchise always the employees I wish Memphis fast food employees were held accountable for the BS they do on a daily read more

I'm going to try to give them a little charity since I've never eaten there and the only reason we tried the place is because it was 10pm Xmas eve and there weren't many other choices in the area.- and considering the area you're always taking your chances. About the food. I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich. That's all. The only fries they had were made with seasoning salt. I declined. It was ready quickly enough. but oddly small for $6. It was long and skinny like a foot long hot dog. I opened the foil and that was pretty much the concept. It looked like a couple of Stead-umzs chopped up and laid in a foot long hot dog with a slice of cheese. No onion, no peppers. Just the mustard I requested. We had driven around for about an hour before we got that so I decided to take my chances- or shop at Wal-greens. to it's credit the beef garnished hot dog bun wasn't terrible. Steak-umz are on the whole okay. There is, however, something to be said for presentation. When you order you like to think they want you to enjoy it and come back for more. I got the feeling they wanted to liquidate some old frozen beef and declare bankruptcy before the rent was due again. the moral- If it looks like crap on the outside, that's probably what they serve on the inside. read more

This place is not really a restaurant, because EVERYONE uses the drive thru. The outside is very dingy and the ground is covered with trash. But I was hungry for the Philly Cheese steak that I have had before. But this time they left everything off and only gave me a little meat. I was very disappointed. Dixie queen is a landmark in Memphis food. I've always enjoyed their food. There can be some inconsistencies with the amount of food, which is one of the reasons why I enjoy it so much. Some days you get extra may on your Philly cheese, some days you don't, but what is consistent about Dixie queen is the fact that everything is made fresh to order. This location is open 24 hours on the weekend, so be prepared to wait on that fourth meal if you ever get the idea. My absolute favorite thing about Dixie queen is the Freeze. It's a combination of sherbet and slushy. I recommend it if you haven't one, lime is my favorite. If you ever have a chance DRIVE THRU (notice I said drive thru) a Dixie queen, some of them even accept ebt. read more

Ticket #192 Just left, wanted 2 triple Cheeseburgers, 1 w/ no onions, no tomatoes, light mayo & mustard, well the burger was plain w/ nothing @ all on it. Fish Meal was good, & the triple all the way was good. I think Dixie Queen is over-rated!!! The food is okay but all the workers are rude & always in a Rush, (makes me think w/ them moving that fast, that if they accidentally drop a wing.... they might put it back on my plate).
