This location is part of a strip mall. The line was short and the customer service was great. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was great. Took about 5 minutes. I could have gotten more toppings but I didn't want the sandwich to be too sloppy.

Can't find anything to complain about. This location is *Clean *Fast *Good Sandwiches (as good as the competition) *Friendly -although focus is on speed, not conversation This particular location is in a tight spot. No drive-thru. Limited parking during peak hours. I usually park at gas station. A couple of differences than some of the local competition: 1. They POUR on the juice -Red Wine Vinegar & Olive Oil. I'm serious, it seemed as if they use up a bottle on each sandwich! LOL! But, to my surprise, each sandwich is delicious & not soggy. Great complement to the crunchy bread. 2. I love the competitor's Hot Pickle Relish. I even purchase jars of it for the house. But then I tried Jersey Mike's! JM's is visibly different -chunky tomatoes & peppers! It gave a "fresh" & powerful "POP" to the sandwich. I still frequent local & chain sandwich shops -but I've now put Jersey Mikes in the rotation!

There was also Mayo on the top and bottom of the bread

My sandwich was very good! $10 is pretty fair for what I got. I loved the sauce, the meat was also really good. The tater salad was AMAZING! I'd get a large of it everytime I eat there if this was a local place for me. The meal was a solid 9/10 If you're in Memphis and you want some good BBQ made with heart and soul, then you should try Elwood's. The only thing missing from my meal that would've completed it for me was some hot buttery cornbread. I'll certainly be back to try their ribs and other foods!

Thankfully, right…read morewhen I walked in, someone pointed me in the right direction and said, "If you're trying to decide, go with the Redheaded Stepchild." I took the advice, and I'm really glad I did. It was fantastic--stacked with pulled pork, smoked sausage, and beef brisket, all topped with slaw and BBQ sauce on a bun. I also tried a bite of the barbecue bologna, which is a thick-cut slice served on white bread, and that didn't disappoint either. Inside gets pretty smoky, so you'll probably prefer sitting outside. Luckily, there are plenty of picnic tables and seating areas to choose from. I didn't catch the name of the guy who helped me, but he was friendly, energetic, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, a really enjoyable visit.

Lunch plans Tuesday 6/9/2026 took my retired teacher club to this awesome place…read more Our group was small but we had such a wonderful time. Service was great. The young ladies were very busy but still checked on us as much as possible. We received water promptly and my friend ordered a sampler plate of hummus, Baba Ganoush and spinach dip. The trio was served with pita and chips. The pita was okay. It was a little tough. I ordered the Santorini Gyro. It had Gyro meat, lettuce, tomatoes, purple onions, cucumbers, feta cheese and Café Med herbal vinaigrette dressing. It was huge and was delicious. It needed a little bit more vinaigrette for me. I took a lot of it home to enjoy. Our sampler trio was quite tasty. The restaurant is decorated with Mediterranean decor. It is quite quaint and very cozy. A tad warm inside but still comfortable. We were waiting for the server to bring our checks as we did not know we were to pay at the register in the rear. The place was very busy as many patrons stopped for lunch or take-out orders. I will return for sure.

I could tell that he had established relationships with some of his customers and that is always nice to see. It is great when a business can truly be connected to their community. It was raining one day and he was courteous enough to help me take my food to my car and even opened my door for me. He is such a kind person. He has gained a customer for sure in me. I also want to say that their side salad is really good. I used to try the pasta as the side but it would always be so dry and flavorless. Now that I have had their salad, with such great improvement, I'm curious if the pasta has received a makeover as well. I also order a salad that had the Greek salad. It has feta cheese in it, olives, onion, tomato with a side of Balsamic vinaigrette and an Herbal vinaigrette dressing. I fully enjoyed the salad and that is saying a lot, because I don't typically do salads at restaurants just because I feel like I make better at home.

I didn't just eat at Las Tortugas Deli Mexicana... I had a full-on out-of-body experience…read more Let's talk about these Milanesa tacos--because WOW. One bite in and I forgot my name, my responsibilities, and honestly what life was like before this moment. Crispy, juicy, perfectly stacked perfection... I'm pretty sure I ascended for a second there. The flavors? Illegal levels of good. The kind of good that makes you pause mid-bite, stare into the distance, and rethink every taco you've ever had before this. And yes... I'm not ashamed to say it--I had a full-blown foodgasm. No regrets. Would do it again. Immediately. 10/10. If you haven't been to Las Tortugas Deli Mexicana yet, what are you even doing with your life?

Odd place. The owner seems to consider himself an ambassador of authentic Mexican food and that…read moretheir food is somehow special and unique. He's very nice, but the food is only average and certainly not unique unless you've never had authentic Mexican food. We are from out of town and I'm guessing that maybe this place might be the only restaurant serving such cuisine in the area. I did, however, see a taco truck downtown that looked pretty damn authentic. The prices here are ridiculous. I have been to restaurants all over the country serving the exact same food and rarely pay more than $3 per taco or $12 for a torta. By the way, what they call a "Tortuga" it's not a signature creation. It's just a torta, a staple of authentic Mexican food. My friend and I both got taco plates, which were each around $25. That's outrageous. That would even be outrageous for a place that has table service which this place does not. I would not come back here. If I am in Memphis again and craving Mexican food, I'm definitely going to try the trucks. PS Guy Fieri signing off on a restaurant is something that I consider more of a red flag than a sign of excellence.

But the sauce was rather unremarkable. It wasn't seasoned very well and nothing else stood apart. The Dill Pickle Pasta Salad was not seasoned well either. I've had memorable dill pasta salads, but this just didn't stand out. I was disappointed that there wasn't any dill chips or a novelty dill beverage for the dill meal. My favorite things here are The Beefeater, The New Yorker, the Chili, and the baked potatoes. Their chili doesn't have been since they are from Texas. It's still good though. You can even get a swirl of chocolate and vanilla. I don't do raw veggies, especially, the sneezed on kind, so I don't partake in the salad bar anywhere. I do however lift up crackers, cornbread, snacks, sauces, and other condiments from it. Can't catch me!! I also will cater in Jason's for work on occasion. It's typically a crowd pleaser and they are good at the catering game. I do think some of the reviews are quite funny. Any time someone mentions money in a review I immediately dismiss their opinion. Buyers remorse is no reason to give a bad review. If you don't like your food, take it back to the damn counter, don't be a keyboard crusader. If it's really that bad, say something to the humans that work there folks. For me, Jason's is pretty dang good for what it is. It is pre packed deli lunch meat sandwiches, served on formally frozen bread, with sides made in a factory downtownfrozen pastries and all other baked goods. It is not supposed to be really good earth shattering experience. It's a freaking deli! It's just a meal! Eat at home yo... It's nicer in here than it was when it was down the strip center where Pyros is now. I will say there were a lot of lights out in the dining room. The tunnel effect is big because of all of the windows in the front. It's like looking out from inside a cave so I sit near the entrance. Y'all quit hating so hard! '25 - 85/111
