we've rented a couple of trucks from this place in the past as we do cross country picking and…read morebuying trips. we picked a truck up from these guys on wednesday and loaded it up as we started out. had to stop back at this location the following day to pick up some stuff we won from an auction. while there we notified them of a low tire. they told us to call an 800 number. instead, there was a gentleman there from Penske dropping off a truck. we told him of our concern and he took a look at the truck and said that the interior rear tire was completely flat. he got on the phone right away and then proceeded to lead us to Pomps tire to get the repairs made. I realize that the pickup location is just a satellite location for Penske, and there are not any facilities to make repairs or verify a truck is in proper working order so I'm not holding them responsible and this review is not about them or for them. Instead, this review is for the Penzke employee that helped us get the tire replaced. The gentleman's name is Warren and he was the absolute best. In my opinion, he went waaaaaay beyond the norm to help us get back on the road. Thank you Warren for your great service. You turned what could have been a very bad experience into something where we felt fortunate to have you on our side.

Asked repeatedly for information on the paperwork needed to rent a semi tractor. Told us nothing…read moreneeded for days -- then all of the sudden "oh ya" we need info. Told us on Friday they had a truck for us- Came in on Monday and the truck had bad tires and multiple other issues our driver found including the Elog was not functioning...and was not road worthy. Next truck they gave us was into the Chicago area to pick up- we get there and the sales employee didn't even know what an Elog was!!! -- and the truck did not have one. At this point we are now 13 hours behind on our load!! Could of got a truck for half the price some place else but didn't want to lose 9 hours going to WI to pick it up- guess we should have. Considering we called to complain and all we got was "Oh well, sorry it wasn't better, but you're on the road now so who cares!" WOW! Really expected more from a company as well known as Penske!

They still wanted to charge for the time it was down due tot their negligence. Last visit, needed a mini skid for 4 hours and would not allow it unless paid for all 24 hours as they don't have a working hour meter on it.

Nobody, even the airport rental places had a large suv or 12-15 passenger van until we called Chicagoland Truck Rental and spoke with Bruce. He knew we were in a bind as we were leaving very early the following morning and was honest with pricing and even cut me a break. Van was in good shape and clean.
