They tried everything they could to try and get us approved! RJ was absolutely amazing 5! So informational about all the cars we were interested in! Treated us like we've been friends for along time! Nate the finance guy definitely 5 was also so amazing! You can really tell he cared about us and our wellbeing! I have no idea what the managers name was but he also pulled a huge string for us and made all the difference on us leaving with a car instead of without one! Review of Dixon VW I spoke with Dixon VW for over a month about purchasing a new vehicle. Throughout every conversation--by phone and text--we discussed only the out-the-door price, meaning tax, title, and license included. At no point was anything else ever discussed. They even requested my home address (I live out of state) specifically to calculate the correct taxes and fees. When we agreed on a price and I submitted my deposit, everything appeared correct. The paperwork Scott sent me also showed $0 in taxes, which aligned with what we had agreed upon--those costs were supposed to be included in the purchase price. After I signed the paperwork, I asked if my existing plates could be transferred. At that point, Scott informed me that I would need to pay my registration fees and that I would also owe sales tax when registering the vehicle in Iowa. This added roughly $2,500 to the cost of the vehicle. This was completely unacceptable. I had other written offers for less money that already included taxes, and I had shared one of those quotes with Dixon VW. I was willing to pay about $200 more to save a two-hour drive, but adding another $2,500 made no sense. Scott and Drillon refused to refund my $1,000 deposit and claimed this was my fault because I had signed the agreement and "didn't notice it." This is despite the fact that for over a month, not once did anyone state this deal was anything other than out-the-door pricing. This turned into a week-long back-and-forth just to get my deposit returned. When I pointed out that I would end up paying $2,700 more than another identical offer, they played dumb and asked why I would have signed the paperwork. Eventually, they did return my deposit--but only after an exhausting and unnecessary ordeal. This was by far the worst car-buying experience I've ever had. What started off promising ended with changed terms, refusal to take responsibility, and behavior that fits the exact stereotype people dread when dealing with car salesmen. Don't waste your time with this dealership. They list vehicles for a great price online to get you to make the long trip way out in the middle of nowhere. But, when you get there, they won't sell you the car at that price. They add on a ton of fees and a subscription to a theft deterrence system that they will not sell the car without. Don't buy the extended warranty because it's not straight from them it's by Zurich. If you go to another Ford dealership they'll give you a hard time about it even though you're supposed to be able to use it anywhere. Decided to cancel mine. Didn't make an appointment because it's usually empty and there wasn't many people when I got there. I understand they were working deals but that was only the finance manager. The general kept walking around doing nothing when he could've taken me in. Made me wait 3 hours to print out a simple form to sign. Also bought the truck with supposedly no accidents but the truck has a bent rear fender on the back with a fallen censor and the truck only came with one key. We drove over an hour to check out a truck that smelled like it had been chain-smoked by a Marlboro Man ghost and hadn't seen soap since the Obama administration -- even though they knew we were coming. Then came Nate. Oh, Nate. The man, the myth, the mood swing. He slammed a number on the desk like he was solving a hostage negotiation, drew a dramatic line under it like we were on "Shark Tank," and then tossed us a pen like it was a live grenade. To be fair, the sales manager was actually decent and tried to clean up the mess (not the truck, just the vibe), but the damage was done. In July we bought a VW Tiguan from Daggio, The assistant sales manager handled most of the sale. When it came down to paper work I requested the Carfax and asked if the vehicle had been wrecked or any mechanical issues. The Sales manager went on a rant about the 100 point inspection they did and how he would never put the money for tires, service and a new mirror if the car was not reliable and safe and free of problems. He did everything except print the carfax. Yes, that should have been a red flag but my son needed a car and it seemed to be a good one. 1 day after purchase there was a loud rattle upon start up, I took it to Dixon Ford and asked them about it, and the assistant sales manager said It was bought as is and he would check with service as to when we could look at it. They said it would be a week so I left and went to a reputable auto shop, upon looking at the vehicle they determined the torque converter was coming loose from the flywheel. They torqued the bolts and suggested a Trans or engine swap was done at some time. Again, I go to dealership and they were rocky and arrogant but offered to reimburse me for that work. I accepted and went on my way. Took vehicle back to my son and a week later he calls and the Belt had come off the engine, again I took it to a reputable shop and they determined the Timing chain cover was leaking oil profusely and someone tried to hide it by using a silicone sealer. The mechanic also confirmed the engine was a "junk yard engine" and not original. Keep in mind they advertised this vehicle as a low mileage, one owner local trade. I again called Dixon Ford and they refused to talk to me about it and said You bought it as-is so its your problem. I paid for the repairs and got it back to my son. Another week passed and he called AGAIN saying car wouldn't run. Again I took the vehicle to the mechanic and they determined the fuel injection failed and it filled the crankcase and exhaust system with gas and could have been tragic. I again call Dixon Ford and they seemed concerned and wanted to "make it right" so we agree to talk with them. When we went the sales manager couldn't be bothered to talk to us and sent his minion to do his dirty work. Their way of making it right was to give me a third of the amount I just paid for the vehicle and purchase another over priced car from them and I eat the rest of what was paid for the car and the $3000 worth of repairs we had done. The kicker here is they printed out the carfax to show me what it was worth and pointed out I was trading in a vehicle that had a different engine put in it and it had been in an accident thus dropping the value of "my" vehicle. Really? You sold it to us and refused to print the carfax until it benefitted the dealership. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this dealership, they can and will completely screw you over and then try to do it again. If their 100 point inspection missed all those problems then their service department is just as bad. I know for a fact they knew of these issues and lied. They are untrustworthy and Drillon and Daggio are completely fine taking your money and screwing you over. If it is anything but a brand new car I highly recommend not buying from them. read more

Took my car in for an oil leak, told it would cost over &1000. to fix.. ok go ahead then told the part was on back order maybe a week, ok.. they'll get back to me , never heard back called the next week, same story, now I get things happen but the lack of caring or communication is what really bothered me, anyway figured out something else, went to pick up the car and they acted like I was bothering them, got the car home found missing parts and what they said was wrong was not even the correct problem! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! Do NOT buy a pre-owned vehicle from these crooks!! We bought and paid full asking for a vehicle 18 months ago, the purchase was contingent upon several minor repairs which we received a 'we owe' for. We set up a date for the 'we owes' to be fixed - back-up camera and windows (cannot be operated from the driver's window switch) We were told to drop it off on a Monday and that it would be ready by end of day, and they would call us. Tuesday came and went. Wednesday came and went - finally after receiving no call we called them on Friday morning to see when we could get the car. They advised they had ordered a part and it wasnt in yet ...... that we could pick up the car and bring it back when the part came in. So we did. After a couple of months with no call back we reached out to them and set up another appointment to bring the car in,. This time we waited to see how long it would take them to fix the 'we owes' and call us - they had our car almost a MONTH (luckily we had one of our own other vehicles to drive) before we ended up calling them. They advised they had fixed everything and we could pick up the car. We went to pick up the car only to discover that they had taken the system / screen and molding out, put in a new screen with no molding which esthetically looks like garbage but they also whilst doing this rendered the radio inoperable. My husband took possession of the vehicle, and fixed the radio himself when he noticed that the antenna was missing! So he bought a new antenna out of pocket and put it on. When he picked up the car it was pouring rain so he did not try the windows until he got home - they did not fix them. WE called back right away and said that we would take care of getting them fixed as long as we could either send them the bill or be reimbursed. We were advised that would have to be authorized first and that they would call back. They never did. We took the car to a repair shop in town and was advised that the issue was NOT the widow switch but something more difficult that would entail taking some time and getting in to the dash. Its been a year now since our last communication with anyone at Dixon Ford - they NEVER return calls and essentially try to blow you off until the limitation on 'we owes' is past. We recently noticed a vehicle at another dealer but was advised the trade-in would be less due to the windows not working. They took a look because their franchise is owned by the same person, LEE SCHREIBER. They couldnt fix it and advised us to see a Toyota dealer. I called Dixon Ford to demand that my windows be fixed and they claimed that it had been some time and their notes showed that they had fixed the 'we owes!!!!! LIARS. I was irate and said that I was on the way to their shop, I was told that their manager wasnt it and there was nothing they could do right then and that he would call me back. That was 5 days ago and surprise, surprise no one has called me back. I have since discovered that the car also has a branded title due to mileage discrepancy, despite the fact that we were given an Odometer disclosure that said it 33k miles on it. And this point I feel like our only option is to get an attorney and keep the car since we were only offered 1/3rd of what we paid for it 18 months ago. I just received a carfax that shows the vehicle was involved in 3 accidents prior to them selling it to us and the branded title was issued 5 years before we bought it. We didn't have experience with leasing and he did a great job of answering all our questions and making it a very easy process. Me and my Husband purchased a car from them back in September. The sales professional was very courteous and friendly. The sales manager Zach advised us that they don't sell junk cars. We had the car, made one payment and had electrical issues that were going to cost close to $1000 to repair. When I originally took the car to get checked out after I noticed the power steering going on and it gf the sales rep advised me they would take care of us and we scheduled an appointment. Much to my frustration they told us we had to pay for the inspection. I called Sterling Chevy and they got me in quickly and saved me over $100. After I found out I was having problems with the car that only continued to get worse (steering wheel was shaking pretty bad) so called the manager Zach and Drillon for 3 days. They refused to return my calls. So I left a google review. Finally by Friday I was tired of waiting for a call back from the manager so I called Sterling Chevy and left a message with the owner. Not too much after Zach calls me back being highly aggressive. Says we are no longer welcome to set a foot at dfvw and he would call sterling Chevy to have them take over the car problem. Well Zach never did. Sterling Chevy ended up helping us tremendously. I will say never buy a car from Dixon Ford Volkswagen. The sales managers are extremely unprofessional and refuse to help you if they sell you a garbage car. They sold my parents a garbage car as well. GREAT DEALERSHIP. So the reviews I read just now came after I purchased my vehicle. (Admittedly not my best move but true). I found my F 250 on fords sight and I called them the next morning and Chelsey was kind enough to help me as the truck literally just came in. Her and Scott gave me the info quickly and did not charge a market adjustment at all for a very hard to find vehicle. I bought the truck over the phone, arrived to pick it up and the dealership was friendly, helpful, and a joy to purchase from. No games. Braydon didn't like it had a mark of dirt on the inside when I arrived and had it detailed again. Alex in finance was great doing his job but not pushy. The GM introduced himself and was great. The dealer is under new ownership and I live 55 miles away and when I need another truck they earned my business. read more

I don't recommend. Before I bought anything, I noticed a few red flags. 1) they wouldn't tell me the price of any of the cars when I asked. 2) they quoted me for a car and when I got home I checked online to see what the price was which was significantly lower than what they quoted me so they were trying to sell me a higher price for a used car 3) I was getting steered toward a car I wasn't interested in & they had to JUMP START the battery of that car in front of me cuz it died and wouldn't start. 4) they continued to push me to look at other vehicles that I was not interested in especially after I said I wanted to leave and think on it therefore they had me wait and look at these vehicles for about 20 or so minutes which I refused to test drive cuz I came there for a specific car that I wanted to think about. 5) they kept asking over and over again what it'll take for me to buy the car, pushing me to make a purchase when I wasn't quite ready. With that being said, I made the biggest mistake ever by coming back to their lot to check out the original vehicle I was interested in because I thought about getting that one. They then told me that they don't recommend it since apparently it had issues with it where I then asked to see a different version of that car that they told me they had on their lot but instead of showing me that car, they showed me a different one which I admit, was a decent car, but a complete downgrade from my current car, so I was not quite comfortable or convinced I wanted it. From there, I continued to tell the dealer that I was not comfortable or sure I actually wanted that car. He continued to reassure me that everything was great and I was making a great choice and continued to reassure and push me to continue with the sale. I was hesitant but I unfortunately trusted him. He told me that I might have felt that way with my other car, too, and the feeling will go away and I'll love it. Well, I ended up going home with it and maybe a couple hours later I knew for a fact that I HATED IT and I made the biggest financial mistake of my life by trusting these selfish people. I emailed the manager and the dealer that night to let them know immediately that it was not the right fit for me and asked what options I have. Of course I never heard back given it was the weekend. First thing Monday morning, I went right in there and tried to explain to them that this was not the car for me and I was not happy with it and wanted to know what I could do. The manager then BLAMED ME for wasting their time by checking out all these cars (even though they were the ones pushing these cars as I didn't want to look at them) and proceeds to say I'm shit out of luck basically and the only option I had was to trade it back in for a different shitty vehicle that they had. So I asked if I could get my car back. I bought the car on Saturday, they're closed Sunday and I went in immediately Monday mind you. They told me it was impossible to get my car back and to undo the deal as they need to make a profit. The managers exact words, in fact. So we asked to see numbers to buy my car back from them. The guy then charged me a BRAND NEW CAR PRICE FOR MY OWN USED VEHICLE THAT I HAD IN MY NAME NO MORE THAN 48 HRS PRIOR. So I basically bought my car back for the exact new car price as I bought it a few years ago except now I have a higher payment as I lost all my money in the purchase of the other car I did not want but felt pressured to buy. They treated me like crap by blaming me for all of this even though we did NOT go in there blaming them by any means. They also treated it like a new car purchase and told me they took it to detailing. They literally maybe only vacuumed the car maybe. After all this trouble they couldn't even bother to clean the car like they said they were and claimed we were waiting for that to be done but there was mud in the car and fur still. Every car is also on E so prepare to fill the tanks up after any purchase. They don't do it for you at all. No integrity or respect from them. Don't waste your time. read more

Conversations with everyone in service up to the general manager. Essentially, we cant replicate your problem, so you're SOL. Parts under warranty, but would not replace. Even missed a factory safety recall on the truck while it sat there for over a week. Their attitude was what are you going to do about it. Worst dealer service experience ever. I recently was looking for a new vehicle. I found two fusions I liked online and emailed about both of them. The next day I checked their website and the price of both fusions went up $5,000. I then got an email back from them attaching the web page for both vehicles. When I stated my concern about the price jumping $5,000 overnight and even attached a screenshot which included the price and vin number showing they were the same vehicles they said they wouldn't lose my business due to a price change and asked if I would like to come look at and test drive them. I said yes. I showed up, the guy was rude, they tried to bait and switch me into many different vehicles. And then told me that the price isn't changing to what I saw and they can change prices at any time. I won't be going back and I took my business elsewhere. read more

Awful sales manager here, they do not care about you as a customer. I bought VW TDI On the 13th and they had to install the VW recall which took a week, upon pick up, there was big scratch and dent on the edge of the hood and the grill was all scratched up along with scratches on the bumper. Someone was ran into it. Now I bought the car with some hail damage but I did not buy the car with a dent and scratches on the hood. I have 4 witnesses who inspected the car before and after who will attest to the new damage. I am also having an accelerator issue that they claim to be a flat spot on the tire even though the noise does not happen when i am not accelerating. They will say and do anything to get you to drive the car off the lot at which point you can not return it and then they will refuse to work with you to fix the problem. The dealership refused to work with me on any issue and actually hung up on me. Never ever by anything from this shady dealership. Buyer beware read more

We brought our 2012 Fusion in for a warranty issue with the HVAC. The climate control blower motor was squealing at low speeds. The service department sent a drive to come and pickup my vehicle in the morning. By mid afternoon, I received a call from them stating that they couldn't hear the problem, but that their technician was familiar with these and they would warranty the motor. The parts wouldn't be in till the morning and was it ok for them to keep the vehicle over night since it was already taken apart. I agreed it would be ok to leave the vehicle overnight. A few hours goes by and I received another phone call from them stating that the part did make it in and they had completed the repair. I was a little suspicious that they had mislead me earlier about the part not being available till the morning, but was happy to have the vehicle back the same day instead of waiting till tomorrow. So a few days go by and I hear something sliding around on the passenger front side of the vehicle. At first I thought it sounded like I had run over a small branch and it was caught in the fender guard. So I checked out the front and underside of the vehicle, but found nothing. After continuing to hear this noise, I determined it was coming from the dash, more specifically from behind the glove box. I easily removed the glove box and instantly found the HVAC motor mounted behind it. Once I saw the motor I assumed that the technician had left something loose or possible left a tool inside it, so I put the glove box back and called the dealership. They were more than happy to take a look at it. Again they came and picked up my vehicle to evaluate the new noise. Early that afternoon they called me stating they were unable to hear the noise, but still removed the glove box and checked for anything. I stated the noise was clearly audible and I expected them to fix it. The service rep said that if they continued to troubleshoot and end up finding something like a mint in the vent that the warranty would not cover it and I would have to pay for their time. I explained that I am in my 30's and it's just my wife and I (no kids at the time), we obviously wouldn't put anything in the vents. They keep the vehicle and call me a few hours later stating that they took the center console and shifter area apart, found a mint and that I owed them $300 for their time. I argued that first of all the sound was not coming from the center console, secondly there is no way a tiny mint could make a sound like a tree branch, and thirdly how could they determine that the mint caused the noise when they supposedly never heard the noise to begin with. After arguing for a week, I was getting nowhere and needed our vehicle back. I paid the $300 and will NEVER use this dealership again for ANYTHING! ALL BUYERS BEWARE!!! My theory is the technician did leave a tool in my dash and upon finding it, still wanted to get paid for his time. The dealership figured a way to work the customer and with them having possession of my vehicle, I was at their mercy. read more
