My family is new to Utah. We did not know anyone and had no one to ask, so we turned to web reviews. Dixon Security was very highly rated, 4.9/5 Stars out of 26 Google reviews. I called and spoke to a few different companies. I was especially impressed with the owner of Dixon Security, Thal Dixon. He spent a lot of time with me discussing how they operate, their services and equipment. He could tell I was a detailed person, so he went into a lot of detail with me and was very friendly. I decided to go with Dixon Security. Two of their technicians, Drew and Zach showed up at the scheduled time. They were crazy cool guys, super friendly and knowledgeable. They helped get the right locations so we could minimize the number of cameras needed. They performed a quick and efficient install and I was operating that afternoon. Unfortunately, a camera was a little foggy the next morning after a blizzard. Dixon Security came right out, replaced the camera and got me squared away. I have since hired them to place additional cameras in other areas I decided to cover as well. It is great to be able to pull up clear video of our property on the included NVR, my phone or PC from anywhere in the world! If you are looking for a good security company, seriously look no further than Dixon Security. These guys are top notch! read more

I paid about $4000 for Dixon to install cameras at my home in Sandy. They showed me the app so I can see the cameras from my phone, which is the whole reason I wanted them. I just had to change my router because the previous one stopped working. And now, to connect to the new router they charge $200! ! Just to connect to the new router. So every time I need them to help me it is going to cost me $200!! I spoke to a manager and he spoke with the owner, who said they do not adjust their costs. I live about 1 mile from their store. So now I either have wasted $4000 or I have to pay them $200 to get it connected. They should be able to help me over the phone or at least for a more reason service fee. And the cameras are NOT the quality they told me. They do not zoom, the have narrow field of view, the software to see recordings is very difficult to navigate (it seems to be an old system) and the image quality is really not very good. My friend just bought a much better system from Costco for $800 and it does much more and is so much easier to use, which I am now switching to. read more

Thal and Drew were a pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable and understood and sympathized with me need for surveillance to protect my children from themselves. They put in a quality product and a reasonable price without any surprises. I would recommend to anyone that asks me. The only thing they might improve on is to slow down when they are instructing you on the system. This was my first system and it was a little hard to understand how the software worked. If they could send out a sort of caboose person after the install to help with the instructions on how to back-up, download or save off feeds as well as how to maintain the mobile camera app when the IP dynamically changes on your device. This is just a suggestion and by no means should down grade the product or the service I was given. PS. My kids and I also enjoy the occasional little Orbs and ghosts that show up under night view and what's been eating my dogs food. :) read more
