We hired DJ Bernie at the recommendation of my wedding planner (A Daydream Wedding). I cannot rave about DJ Bernie enough! He was SPECTACULAR! He interacted with our guests and kept everyone engaged and upbeat. He did an excellent job with music selections (we provided a few songs we wanted played for each moment; processional, cocktail hour, dinner, first dance, etc.). He played music that appealed to all ages. He played tunes recognizable to my older guests, but when the time was right, he played some "Bay Area slaps" for us when we were ready to get hyphy. He gladly took the requests of guests which a lot of people loved! So everyone got to hear something they liked. We literally went from slow dancing to Frank Sinatra, to thizzle dancing to Mac Dre, to vogueing to Todrick Hall! My guests had SO much fun. DJ Bernie also provided the beautiful uplighting for my event. He has a wide selection of colors to fit any decor. PLUS, he provided a customized monogram that was illuminated onto a wall. I was married on 5/31/14. We hired DJ B Carrion as our wedding DJ, which turned out to be one of the best decisions we made in choosing wedding vendors. I should note that I am an event planner, so was very detailed and meticulous in selecting vendors for my wedding, and I was a very high-maintenance bride--expecting a high level of service and lots of contact with my vendors to make sure everything was just right for my wedding day. I RECOMMEND DJ B CARRION EXTREMELY HIGHLY if you're looking for a DJ for your event--especially one as significant as your wedding. Bernie DJ'ed our wedding ceremony and our reception and he was THE all-star of our wedding. Bernie came through on every little detail precisely as we'd arranged (wish I could say the same for my other vendors), did a prefect job MC'ing and DJ'ing, worked well with me and the rest of my vendors before and during the event, and made our wedding reception one super fun PARTY! My fiance found DJ B Carrion on Thumbtack. He advertised the best price we'd seen--lower than ALL of the reputable wedding DJs in the greater Sacramento area, so we arranged to meet with him. He came to our home at our convenience to do an initial consultation. From the very first time we met Bernie, he was very professional (some DJs we met with were quite unprofessional), knowledgeable, presentable (some DJs in the area are not), and above all he was an absolute pleasure to work with! Bernie offered a us full package--reception lighting (we had 14 uplights), dance floor lighting (he has really cool dance floor lighting), gobo (I even got to custom design my own gobo design), projector and screen, and of course high-quality speakers, lapel mics, sound equipment, and an attractive DJ booth--for a MUCH LOWER COST than ANY of the other area DJs I've seen--and I researched many. Additionally, I have the sense that Bernie was simply truly interested in doing a great job for us, from start to finish--which he certainly achieved. In the planning phase he was adaptable and receptive to all of my requests (we did a funky wedding party intro that took a lot of coordination with music and he was highly involved in helping us get that part just right). He was easy to work with, he listened, and he always responded right away (sometimes within minutes--but always within a day) to all of my many planning emails. I cannot stress enough how important it is for your vendors to be responsive by email, and Bernie was the MOST responsive of all of my vendors. He always got back to me with thoughtful and informative responses, coming up with ideas and suggestions to help me make my reception perfect. In the execution of the wedding, Bernie showed up much earlier than contracted (at no extra charge) to make sure all was set up with plenty of time. He brought an assistant with him and didn't charge us more for the additional labor. He did everything he needed to do to make sure the event was flawless. He even stayed later than contracted because me, my new husband and a small group of my friends were still getting down on the dance floor. Bernie set up a beautiful event. His raving reviews and the wombo combo that he and his team offered (DJ services, 3-HR photo booth, and videographer) were unbeatable. Honestly, to my (now) Husband and I, we knew how important it was to have an awesome DJ as we've been to weddings with not the greatest DJs. People don't realize that your DJ is pretty much your MC for the night. We loved all the music and got a lot of compliments at how fun it was to listen to during cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. The Photo Booth was also a hit and the monogram projected onto the wall was so beautiful! It looks amazing in photos. The ONLY reason I could not rate him 5 stars is twofold: the mic for my MOH's toast was malfunctioning so portions of it could not be heard by most of the guests. In addition, he had a different version of our first dance song (Sam Cooke "nothing can change this love") that seemed to be a sped up version of the classic song. He did explain the mic is wireless and was fully charged so it was a connectivity issue (he gave a new mic for the best man's toast), and he said the first dance song was the only version he found. Totally acceptable but unfortunately these were two major moments for our wedding that are regrettably something we cannot recreate ever again. If it weren't for those two issues I'd give him five stars. read more

I found Bernie off craigslist and although finding services through there may be often times sketchy, Bernie and Gabe, DJ Partner, were unexpectedly the best vendors during my wedding. He provided me with unlimited amount of uplights (we ended up using 15), a customized monogram spotlight, 7 hours of DJ/MC service. And although, I only contracted them for 7 hours, he showed up early and stayed late. My sister made me a slideshow during my wedding and it wasn't connected any speakers so instead we had him play the music, the slide show started before the music did and with just one look he knew to transition the music to the next song to sync them together. I can't tell you how nice it felt to have such an intuitive flexible vendor. He kept my crowd dancing all night. I loved them so much, we're using him again at my sister's and my best friend's wedding. Bernie and Gabe absolutely enjoys doing what they do, and it truly shows. Anytime anyone I know is looking for a DJ I always recommend him. We didn't have a good experience. My wife and I spent countless hours putting together a set list and a schedule for Bernie. Basically did their job. We met at rehearsal dinner and I asked Bernie if he had any trouble finding some of the songs on our list and he said no, to my surprise. But, I trusted that he was the professional and had things covered. If he would've been honest, we would've given him the music ourselves. Our schedule was ignored to the point that I had to move his DJ Gabe from the reception area to the ceremony area after finding him in the the wrong place. We heard songs from 1985 that we did not list nor wanted to hear. The announcements were wrong, Grooms Mother was referred to as the brides and the brides parents were only mentioned by name not as the parents of the bride. On top of that, their 50th anniversary was being celebrated the same night. This should not have been over looked. They didn't announce our guest book which was evident by the 10 signatures we got. We felt like we had to babysit the DJ instead of enjoying our special day. We are only writing this review because we emailed Bernie about our disappointment and he responded back only to point his finger at his "new DJ" even though he was present the entire evening. He wouldn't responsibility for the poor service or tried to make things right with us, the customer. Get a boombox with your own mic before hiring this company. read more
