I've heard great things about this place so I figured we'd try it out. I did a pickup order on a Saturday night and it was ready in no time. The place itself is a little hidden away, like a gem. As you walk inside there's dining to the left and the bar to the fine. Pick up orders are picked up at a window straight back from the front door. This place looks like it has its regulars who sit at the bar and enjoy a cold one after work. The food itself was really good and the prices are very reasonable. I was astonished at the huge portion for the chicken parm dinner. That alone could feed both my son and I very comfortably which is great for my budget. Pizza was great and cheesy. Once again, a group of us got together on the 3rd Thursday of the month to indulge in typical tavern food consisting of pizza, wings, and mozzarella sticks and we can't forget beer. This month's stop at DJ's Manor House was a bit more challenging for some than others. GPS apparently has a bit of a problem with the address since the building is pretty far back from the road, it's behind several other businesses that are close to the road, access is actually from either the Big Lots parking lot or Ridge Road, and it is hard to see at night. But that's not a problem for the locals, and the locals are likely the main customers. They are warmly greeted by the bartender and friends with other customers. There is no table service, you grab a paper menu and place your order at a hole-in-the-wall pass-through to the kitchen, unless you have phoned in your order ahead of time. And that seems like what most locals do. Our party of five ordered a pitcher of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale while we waited for our food. All of the food was brought to our table by kitchen staff at the same time, so it was important to dive into everything as quickly as possible to be sure we were eating hot from the kitchen. The Mozzarella Sticks were pretty food-service-provider standard, in other words, not made in-house. The raspberry sauce was a good one. Just sweet enough and a nice viscosity. The Wings were ordered with a hot sauce and they did have enough heat to the spice, but were not crispy since they had been covered with the sauce. The meat was plentiful enough, moist, and tender. Before trying the pizza, we also tried an order of Pepperoni Pizza Logs. Another likely food service item, being deep fried they had a nice crispiness and surprisingly were not greasy. I would have liked just a bit more pepperoni flavor from them. There are two styles of pizza offered, Mama Dee's thin crust and regular. I'm reluctant to identify regular as "Sicilian" because other than the crust edges being thick the dough for the rest of the pizza was only slightly thicker than Mama Dee's thin crust. Actually, I believe both of our pizzas were undercooked on the bottom. They lacked any crispness and were very pale in color. Slices that I brought home and reheated in a frying pan were greatly improved. The Mama Dee's came with sauce, sausage, mozzarella, olive oil, oregano, and parmesan cheese. I would have liked the sausage to be more evenly distributed so that more bites had some sausage in them. Also, the cheese seemed excessive; more like what you get when you order double cheese. Our other pizza was a square 12-cut that we had prepared half with just cheese while the other half was our own custom "Steve N" concoction of sauce, mozzarella, ham, bacon, and hot peppers. It was a nice blend of flavors, but once again, too much cheese. read more

A number of local residents have recommended this place to me for pizza, so I came with an open mind. Unfortunately, I thought the experience was pretty disappointing. For starters, if you want to dine in, there's no table service - you order drinks at the bar and you order the pizza at a small window in the far wall. The dining area felt really dark and dingy while you wait. We tried two different pizzas: an eight cut round Mama Dee's with sausage, and a square cut pie with a few toppings. The pizza on the Mama Dee's was so over-cheesed it was ridiculous, and it made the whole thing very heavy on top of a very soft and flimsy crust. Although I would say the square cut was the better of the two pies, neither were very enjoyable. Both had too much cheese, crusts that felt under-done and plain, and not much flavor. A number of fried appetizers were also a little lackluster, including your basic generic mozzarella sticks, some pepperoni pizza logs (almost like fried eggroll wrappers with pepperoni and mozzarella inside), and wings. The wings had an ok amount of peppery heat but were really flabby and fatty. I think a decent crispy fry job could have made these passable. read more

This place was always great until one day it wasn't. These days they are back on top and I couldn't be happier. The red sauce is robust with flavor, thick with no sign of water. The pasta is firm and the cheese covering the dish is golden brown. I'm sure the eggplant is frozen patties but they don't taste it. Pizza has ample toppings and the crust is never doughy if you haven't been recently you should. All the improvements and the prices are still reasonably low. This place RULES! It's alongside a hole-in-the-wall bar, so upon initial entry you're probably going to want to leave like I did. Disregard that feeling. Have a drink with some of the local population, and relax. You're in a good place. We went in on a total whim based on reading reviews and driving on I-90. One of us got a sub (grinder), two of us got calzones, and one got a small pizza. We had wings to split as well. Those wings were fantastic, and reasonably priced, which was the theme of this entire experience! The two calzones were seriously the size of a football... maybe larger. FILLED with toppings. Awesome. I could have used more sauce, but whatever. It was available for an extra charge, which kind of made me not want to get it. But seriously, the thing was like 7 or 8 bucks and could have easily been leftovers for two meals if I wasn't such a glutton. The grinder my buddy had was enormous. It had to have like over a pound of meat on it. It was also super cheap. So really, the only reason this place got 4 stars instead of 5 was because it was in a dive bar. The guy who worked there was super nice and attendant to us. All-in-all, with an appetizer it cost 54 bucks for us to eat a GIANT meal. Can't say anything about their pizza since I haven't tried it, but try their subs! Pizza joints are dime a dozen, but good subs like Manor House's are hard to find. As a rule of thumb, if you are going to have their sub for lunch, skip breakfast... maybe the dinner the night before, too.--it's that huge! The hot subs are oven-toasted, so their outstanding bread is also hot and crunchy. The place doesn't look like much, and you might get intimidated when you first enter by the poorly lit space and a few scary-looking locals hanging out at the bar, but walk to the back, put your order in, and get ready for sub ecstasy. I work at a place up the street, and a week ago, someone ordered pizza from this place and left it in the break room. Everyone at work was raving. "Where is this pizza from? " So I had to find out for myself. The place is hard to find, if you blink you will miss it. And when u walk in, you'd never imagine they have great pizza (its a dive bar, and the pizza order window is way in back). I walked in and was enthusiastically greeted by employees... I ordered a large sausage with onions and a dozen wings. This pizza is easily the best pizza I've had in these parts. It is SOOO cheesy, it's like 3 times the normal amount of cheese from other shops. And the wings are meaty and well cooked. In an area that had stiff competition for pizza and wings. Manor house is a hidden gem. The best pizza and wings around. They also have the best antipasto.... Well until recently. We got pizza from paisans and wasn't impressed so when we had friends over we fawned over how great manor house pizza was and decided to get pizza, wings and the antipasto. I picked it up and headed home. Upon home we noticed the antipasto was absent. My bad I should have checked but manor house has always been reliable. We called and they would deliver the missing antipasto in 10 minutes! Awesome! Sadly they gave us the worse "salad" ever. I'm disappointed and sad we were punished by manor house. One of the girl's I work with recommended we order pizza from here one day when we were looking for something to order for lunch. She has always raved about this place and said it was the best pizza she's ever had so we were willing to give it a try. We ordered half cheese/half pepperoni. I am sadly a little disappointed I didn't love it quite as much as my co-worker, but I do think it is a very decent, average pizza. It is what you expect your cheese or pepperoni pizza to taste like. Do yourself a huge favor and order the eggplant, pepper and sausage pizza. Get it in the large square size with red sauce. It is hands-down one of the best pies I have eaten and I love me some pizza. Whenever I am in the area I always make sure I fit one of these into my schedule. I have yet to find an eggplant pizza with roasted eggplant anywhere, and I live right next to NYC. A few caveats, though. You'll do much better with carry-out instead of eating in. The bar area overwhelms the restaurant and it's an odd little place - get that sucker to go and take it home, get comfortable and ready for an experience. We ordered the 24 cut pizza, half mushroom and half cheese. Also got an order of BBQ wings and Mozzarella sticks. Everything was really great. The mozz sticks with the raspberry sauce are awsome. They are battered in a buttery and light batter. I dont know if you have to ask for the raspberry sauce special or if it normally comes with it bc Ive always just asked. the wings were done great. not fatty pieces and not drenched in the sauce. the pizza was sicilian style and the crust was nice and doughy. love this place, order from there alot! read more

It's easy to miss this place, as it is hidden from view when you're driving down 9&20. Excellent food; pizza is great, sauce is perfect, bread is very fresh -- possibly even made there, just all around quality food at a great price. Decent pizza and wings. I have been here 3-4 times prior to my visit on 10/25/13. I ordered a 12 cut grilled eggplant pizza and a dozen medium wings for take out. The pizza is also supposed to have sausage which I did not see any of. They were pretty skimpy on the eggplant, 2 of 12 slices were not even touched by a topping. How a cook doesn't see that is beyond me. The wings were good, crispy without having to ask and good heat. A few of the drumsticks were frog leg sized. The food tasted fine. I was most disappointed by the fact the jacked up their prices. The menu I ordered from, which is about a year old, listed prices that were $3.75 less for the wings and $2.95 less for the pizza. Ordered a sub and had it delivered to my hotel room at the Fairfield Hotel. The sub was huge! I couldn't even eat the whole thing. Was exactly how I ordered it too. The roll was split all the way through, so it held way more meat and toppings than when rolls are normally only split halfway through. This sub is easily enough for two people. I was pleased with the food and delivery. I requested a 11:30 delivery and they were there at 11:25. Antipasto salad was very good as were the wings and pizza. The wings are probably the best I've ever had but the pizza was dry and had too much cheese and not enough sauce. It's ok though we will just go for wings and other appetizer stuff next time. For some reason the bar doesn't take credit cards but the food window does. There are tables to sit at, you buy the food at the window and bring it to the table to eat, which was fine. read more

Good Pizza. You get what you pay for. Large is a Real 18 inch pie like it should be. Nothing bothers me more than a pizza place that calls a 16 inch a large and charges what an 18 incher should cost. Crust is a medium thickness and has a slight chew to it. Not overly saucy and the cheese is decent. The pizza has always been fairly consistent here and never been unsatisfied. read more

I always get pizza from Manor House, their large pizza is a 24 cut Sicilian pizza that serves even the hungriest of appetites. Their TNT wings are very spicy for the daring diner, with milder flavors for those who are not as daring. Great value and great food. read more
