Why is it when you get shellac or gel nails they do not put oil on cuticles. My finger nails feel like a sand and are so dry.

I have gone here for my nails since 2012. No matter where else I have gone, whether just for convenience or to try somewhere new, it never compares to the quality of service, intentional time, and attention to detail that I get at DK Nails and Spa in Round Rock. They are fun to talk to, always remember me, give great massages, and my dip nails last a long time, at least 4-6 weeks. They have spoiled me and I won't get my nails done anywhere else!

I've been coming every once in awhile with my mom to get a pedicure over the past couple years but today is the first time I went for a manicure. I just recently started getting gel and was going to a different place but decided to try DK for a change.. I highly highly recommend going. They are very sweet every time and always remember even if I haven't been in months. I think her name is spelled Phuong but she is absolutely amazing and very detail oriented. Making sure I actually like what it looks like and checking in with me. Makes sure the manicure altogether looks good which is important. Also the price is very manageable and with the attention to detail it's so worth it. Become part of the DK family you won't regret it!

So calm, so peaceful. They never rush, take their time and really give the "spa" feel. I come in with my cousin and we always have a great time with all the staff. My nails are always perfect. It's not about the nails for me anymore it's always a given they will be exactly as I describe or shown off my phone. I usually stick to a traditional French tip. Every time they do them differently (SNS, Tip added, Kim has even made a custom tip for me) but always so unique and precise. Everything is just so calm, patient & kind.

I don't usually get my nails done but I had a wedding to go to and this is the place to go. My girl hooked me up with a fabulous pair of nails. She was so patient with me because I didn't really know what I was getting and had a really good conversation. Definitely go here to get your nails done!!!

I have been a client at DK nails for several years, and I've always had a great, professional, and friendly experience every time. My (very long) full sets are not for the timid and inexperienced, but Kim has always done a fantastic job, no matter the nail length request. Kim, her family, and all the staff are always friendly and seem to remember every guest by name; and all the nail techs from whom I've received pedicures have always done a stellar job. I do not typically leave reviews, and especially not negative ones, by my last experience here warranted a review that other customers should know about. I have been here previously and have had no issues, however this past experience was definitely they worst manicure I've ever had. My skin has SNS fingernail polish on it and the nail technician actually painted from nail to skin in one layer, without removing any excess. My skin actually hurts today where it was painted to the skin. The SNS is stuck to my actual skin on my ring finger in the pictures, hence the thick and appearance of the polish. He filed my 'almond' shape to sharp points, after I mentioned I wanted them rounded and shortened slightly so I can easily insert and remove my eye contacts, but now they are just short and sharp and hardly almond, but more of a stiletto tip. I pointed out asymmetries and differences in lengths/shaping before he applied polish, but the filing he did after I mentioned it to him only worsened appearance of my nails. This individual also actually went out of sequence with the SNS powder and applied something inaccurate and he tried to just wipe it off with paper towel very well, which ultimately left a white cloudy/dry appearance over the red I wanted. It appeared to be acetone and made a cloudy appearanceover the red color. Two of my fingers have show through spots where he was buffing the SNS at the end to give it luster and smoothness to the texture, but actually filed the red away completely and my normal nail color shows thru. There was no trimming of my cuticles or skin prior to applying new polish after removing the old color. He went straight to a rotary buffer instrument to take off my old SNS (from another nail salon in Austin), and applied too much pressure to my finger and there was a visible indentation and thin spot on my actual natural unpolished finger nail. He thinned this portion so much that when he applied acetone to it to removed the rest of the polish it hurt and was cold and incredibly sensitive from how thin he had made the nail in this area. The employees here are very nice, and until this past polish, I have never had an issue. But unfortunately the quality of my last polish was so sub par and egregious for a nail salon, that I will not be returning. In my opinion this polish was not worth the $85 I was charged for mani+pedi and I did not want to make a scene publicly yesterday with other customers in such close proximity. So I paid them for services rendered, but will not be returning and hope others can benefit from the knowledge of my poor experience.

Kim has been taking care of me and my nails for years and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Go see her if you want perfectly manicured nails!

Kim takes her time and goes over each nail until they're perfect, I've never had a complaint and I've been coming in for years. This salon has a HUGE selection of gel colors to choose from and I don't think I've ever gotten the same one twice because there is just too many beautiful colors to pick from! My design requests are always met and she never fails to have the latest trends (ombré, glitters, chrome, etc.) I wouldn't want to go anywhere else, everyone should come here and get hooked on these ladies!

I was in the area and needed a SNS Dip and Pedicure. Walked in and was instantly greeted by polite employees and the owners! Perfect temperature for the pedicure and very clean. Angela was my tech for pedicure and she took her time, was very helpful and meticulous. Kim (the owner) was my nail tech and performed a perfect set of SNS Dip nail! She kept all my real nails and worked magic!!! When I'm in town, this is my GO TO place.

So happy with my nails. She did a great job.

I found the place by looking on yelp and I was pleasantly Surprised. The Decour inside is really nice and it is very clean. They offer drinks including white and red wine which I thought was a nice touch. Although they were busy, they all remain calm and everybody was help quickly and the quality was just above and beyond. I will definitely be back my nails look great and she didn't take for ever and it was only $40 for two colors which is a great deal.

So I been coming here for about three years and it has been my only nail shop I go to. When I get my nails and things done I usually stick to the same person if they are good. One day I wanted to wait so I can have her do them because she does an amazing job and the owner seemed upset because I wanted to use my same technician. Now every time I go in she says they are busy. At first I thought nothing of it but even when I made an appointment and get there she says they are overbooked and to come back tomorrow. I tried again another day when there was only one person getting there nails done and two workers working around. And she told me the same thing happened. It's very disappointing to feel like they are trying to refuse service to me. read more

I went to DK yesterday for the first time... the technician rushed through my pedicure and was done in about 20 minutes, charging $59 for a pedicure with gel polish (apparently it's $15 extra for gel as my pedicure was $44). Next, I had my nails done.. I asked how much dip nails were and I was told $37 (I did not care, but just curious as they have no prices displayed anywhere). My final cost... $106! This place is a rip off!!! read more

Clean salon with nice, friendly people! I was the maid of honor for my cousin and a group of us went in for mani/pedis and had excellent service. Lovely experience (I highly recommend the spa pedicures). My only comment is that my nails (gel manicure) started chipping the next day but I think it was because the color I picked was almost gone. read more

I was getting desperate. I've tried several nail salons in the last six months trying to find a good one. Finally, I stopped in here after work but they were busy. When I asked about the wait, they were honest and said 45 minutes. So I came back during lunch the next day and was able to get right in. The salon is clean and the staff are friendly. My nail tech Tammy was great. She looked at my nails and knew what needed to be done. I ended up switching my acrylics to gel and they came out beautifully. I'll definitely be back. read more

In my quest for a new nail shop, I stumbled into DK Nails not just because of their Yelp reviews, but because they have it advertised as having "over 150 solar powder colors". That's ALL I use, and in this quest have found that not many shops have a huge variety of powder colors to choose from. I went during the day, so it was nice and quiet. The shop was clean, and everyone was friendly. I was seated with a tech that hadn't been there for a long time, but claimed to have been doing nail for a long time. I have been getting my nails done faithfully for 20 years, so I have high expectations, rightfully so. I had a great tech that I was using for a few years, but the manager of the shop has the stankiest attitude and I had it with his shit one day and walked out (before my tech began my fill). So I've been visiting quite a few shops to find a new "home". I instantly have a problem with techs that do the fill backwards. IDK why, but I think its just backwards and wrong when they do the color first and then fill with pink. Again, sending my OCD into overdrive. LOL But whatev's right! I'm not the nail professional here, so if shes doing a boss job, I should just get over it.. and I did. I knew shortly after she started that she wasn't going to be my new tech. She bounced around a bit, wasn't as thorough as I'd expected her to be, and didn't do things like FILE DOWN a part of powder that was lifting. Instead she just filed over it, left it loose and filled it. Of COURSE that started coming loose within a few days, and I worried about fungus at that point. I shot a little nail glue in there, and viola. I shouldn't EVER have to use nail glue, ever! The filing she did was poor too. Not only did she file too much of the powder down and OFF, leaving it a bit spotty, she didn't clean under my nails well. I hate that shit!! How are you gonna have big sparkly nails on top, and a mess underneath. I spent a few days filing and picking some of the acrylic out from under my nails. Again, two more things I should NEVER have to do. They were a bit uneven to the touch, and the quality of work was felt a few days into the set. Having them really bothered me. After 2 weeks, I was ready to get them off and called this shop twice to speak with a manager to see if they could put me with a different tech. Unfortunately on those two occasions I called, I was told there was no manager available today and they didn't know when they'd be in?! Sealed the deal. Not going back. read more

Consistently great quality and service here at DK! I should know better than to venture anywhere else out of convenience. My solar nails always look fantastic and last for weeks, their pedicures are super relaxing and tailored to exactly what you want! They have a menu of different options, scents, etc. around the holidays or any occasions I love that their employees are so experienced and great at what they do, that I can completely trust them to do something creative and cute as far as design goes! Worth going out of my way to this experienced, consistent staff who does not cut any corners. read more

So I have been getting my nails done since I was in my twenties, so I know a good job when I see it. I'm now 71, so I've been to a lot of nail salons. My experience has been that with some nail salons they actually use an electric drill and file your nails down so far that your nails are sensitive. Some nail salons don't know how to polish, or your nails lift leaving you open to a major fungus. So I pretty much hopped around quite a bit when I was in California. When I moved to Texas in 2015, I had to do the hopping from nail shop to nail shop until I found DK Nails. It's been three years and so far , so good. Kim is the one that does my nails and I highly recommend Kim, I actually give Kim an A+++ compared to those other nail shops I've tried around this area of Texas. I've had one experience in Cedar Park where they were straight up prejudice against blacks I believe. I would still be hopping around if it wasn't for Kim and DK Nails. The last time I was there I was so thrilled with my pedicure I gave the young lady a generous tip because she went beyond and above what most would do. read more

This was one of the worst mani/pedi's I've ever had! I can't remember what the girls name was but she spoke English well and told me she had owned her own place at one point. The pedi was a waste of money she barely did anything at all to my feet and the mani same thing didn't even clip the access skin barely. I even asked her and she acted annoyed but didn't do anything extra. The salon itself is very clean looking so I'll give it one star for that. read more

Best pedicure I've ever had AND best paint job. A young lady who works only on weekends did my very relaxing pedicure and nail painting (I think it was Tina). I showed her a couple of photos of what I'd like my toe nail art to resemble for the holiday. She improved on it. Excellent! Price is right as well. read more

There is so much about DK Nails I love but it goes without saying, the technicians themselves are the absolute best part! I think the Services preformed by the technicians at DK Nails are very reasonably priced for the quality of services I received. I have to do a little bragging about my technicians ...Kim tinted and waxed my brows today... Absolute perfection! She always takes such care in her work and I'm never left disappointed. She's so great! Jackie put on a full set of nails for me today and OMG...She gave me the most gorgeous stiletto shellac fall nails ever! I'm so so happy with my brows and nails! I've been going to DK Nails for over a year. I always scheduled my next manicure 2 or 3 weeks in advanced. In the last 3 months, Kim has written the date wrong in their calendar and actually argued with me that I was wrong and that I had written the wrong date in my calendar. It's too bad that the customer service there is severely lacking. I was a loyal customer, but after being told I was wrong when I know I wasn't, I will not be back. read more

Really pretty salon. First time I went in I had a good experience with a full gel set with I think her name is Nancy but I've forgotten. Next time I went in with an appointment at around 5:00 and the girl who did my nails was at the first station closest to the reception desk, and was super busy and kept running back & forth to the reception desk. So my gel nails did not turn out as well. They weren't horrible, but a little too thick and the nails were filed crookedly. I think she was just too rushed. I would go back but I would just ask to have someone who wasn't working the front desk as well. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for a few years now and I've NEVER had any issues! I love the job they do. I get my feet and nails done as well as my brows and lip waxed and I can't think of one bad thing to say. The ladies are all so nice and the owners make me feel like they really care about me and my business. My nails are actually featured in two of the photos above. I have been to a lot of nail salons and this one hands down beats every other one! I even drove back up here after moving to seguin for a moment just to get my nails done at this salon. I always recommend this place to anyone who asks! read more

Came here for a new set of nails and a pedicure on 2/29. Took 2.5 hours. First of all my nails were uneven in length and the shape. Some had more rounded sides than others. There was a lot of nail left without polish towards the back as well. I stated my concerns but nothing was done. I'm not one to make a stink over something so small so I paid for my services and left. 3 days later I noticed my hair was getting stuck in the backs of my nails and the nail polish on my toes was already coming off which has never happened to me before. I don't do anything exerting and haven't been swimming which is usually when it comes off for me after a pedicure. I just went today for a fill at another shop because they were starting to look really bad and all of my nails were popping off at the back!! I usually never have to have a fill until a full month. I had to pay for a completely new set which I wasn't planning on. I definitely will not be coming back here. read more

I've been to D K Nails a few times now. I'm very picky how I like my nails painted and they always listen to me and do a great job. I get the regular manicure and my nail polish will go almost two weeks without chipping that's with me cleaning, working, doing dishes, etc. Friendly staff and great prices. They are also great at brow threading. I highly recommend D K Nails for anyone who is looking for a great nail polish job and really reasonable prices. read more

Got in there soon after they were allowed to open after COVID. They are appointment only at the moment to control the number of folks in the shop at a time. I have tried other nail salons, but I really love these people. Always clean, always friendly and they do an awesome job. I am now driving all the way from east Pflugerville regularly because they always do a fantastic job. read more

I love DK nails! I have tried several salons in the Austin area, but DK nails is the best for the best price! They do an amazing job, even when I bring in unique designs from my Pinterest board. I always go to Kim because she is an absolute perfectionist it comes to shaping, she makes great recommendations and they always turn out perfect! But everyone there seems to do a great job. Also, I love the atmosphere! All of the technicians are so much fun to joke and chat with! I highly recommend making an appointment though. They never turn walk-ins away but it gets super busy on the weekends! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for 9 months.At the beginning everything was great could not complain.Price was decent for the amount if things done.Slowly but surely started shortening on massage, drinks were not being offered at all.They used to put a salt bath that had a wonderful smell they stopped putting it in my pedicure water completely. Nail polish was not as smooth you can see the stroking and smudging of lint or just not enough nail polish.The lady who always did my pediatric would slack on massage, always would hurt my cuticle or skin around my toes.She would answer her phone with her wet hands and talk in front of me.And when I expressed to her she hurt me her and her co worker would start talking in there language most likely about me because every time I would go she would hurt me.At the beginning owner was attentive to me last visit she was rudexquiet and saw her employee reach to her phone answer and cut me she said nothing no conversation nothing.So I decided to go else were.Which is an amazing place "Spa Social". I would not recommend this place they treat you well for the first 3 visits then you are just a number.Also her husband sits there does not acknowledge any one very rude as a business owner costumer service should be legendary personable always! I have been going to DK Nails & Spa in Round Rock since I moved to Austin 5 years ago. Some of the reasons why I love this nail salon are the high-quality service (nails always look perfect!), the wide variety of color options for every polish and the friendly staff. They also really listen to what you personally want and make sure you are satisfied. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Pro tip: make an appointment (you don't have to call way in advance but even 1 day ahead helps). read more

Just walked in and ask for a mani-pedi. They had only two other people in the chairs and she just said, "not now". Didn't ask if I could make an appointment or if I could wait for a bit. Just "not now" and walked off to answer the phone. Poor customer service, such a shame, lost a customer today. read more

What I love about this place...they are quick yet efficient. I have had my sns nails done else where before and they always chip or break after about a week in a half. I do not have that issue here. Service is great. I love that if I make an appointment. They stick to it. The staff always put an effort towards learning your name and your style. Love that!!! read more

Our spa's focus is expert nail care, including gel manis and pedis, as well as eyebrow and lip waxing. We feature over 600 selections of dip powder colors and over 500 selections of gel colors. We are extremely detail oriented and cater to your every need, as our goal is for you to be a client for life! We accept walk-ins as well as appointments -- if looking to schedule a group event, we can accommodate!

Since establishment, we have always had a focus on nails and skincare. The spa was purchased and led under new ownership, being completely renovated in 2016.

Meet the Manager: Kim N.

I have 10+ years of experience in the nail spa business, focusing on expert care for clients alongside friendly conversation. In taking over the spa and renovating it head to toe in 2016, we offer a relaxing, clean environment. I hold my esthetician and nail technician license under the Texas State Board of Cosmetology. I am also a long-time Texas resident and UT Longhorn fan!

Had an appointment for waxing my full legs, and she said , she doesnt like Round rock location of Hello Sugar Salon as they do not usually keep the things in right place. There was no adequate quantity of wax present at the location and when I asked her do you have more, she said - she will have to go to other room and refill and she wasnt really positive about it. She used the wax dispenser with very less wax , kept pressing hard on my legs which was hurting me bad. I complained about it 2-3 times and she mentioned its my skin and not the wax dispensor. It was actually her trying squeeze out as much as wax as one could, so pressing hard gave me bruises. Finally the wax was finished and she asked me if I am ok to use Sugaring for legs, I wasn't so comfortable with Sugar on legs. But since there was no wax present at that location, I agreed for Sugaring. Sugaring was not so good or nicely done and was really painful. Seriously, when a customer complaints - a basic courtesy is to make sure the customer is comfortable instead of considering one's own's convenience. I never expected this experience from Hello Sugar. The one location at Cedar park was really good and the girl was considerate I do not remember her name. But Eliana wasn't really considerate infact she was trying to get the work done. Due to this unwelcoming experience, I will never ever recommend my friends/family to Hello Sugar. I do have pictures of my legs which got bruised and red infront of her. But I will not share them due to privacy reasons. I would really like the owner of Hello Sugar should read it and teach basic culture of the Hello Sugar to their employees. Otherwise, even if other employees have basic courtesy and mannerisms, they will be overlooked by such employees. I wonder why can't you have basic supplies at hand for employees to use? I will never ever go to this hopeless Salon again. I never got such bad treatment as a customer and I am really very very unsatisfied with the service. If had to give no stars, I will really not give any stars for such a hopeless behavior and pointless service.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN ROUND ROCK! I had a full set of acrylics with a manicure and deluxe pedicure on my first visit. The services are affordable and the salon very neat and clean. Everyone there is super friendly and they go out of their way to make sure you are 100% happy. I took my mom there for the Super Deluxe Pedicure and she loved the hot stone treatment! On my second trip had gel over my acrylic nails with a custom hand painted design. I get compliments on them everywhere I go and I LOVE MY NAILS!! So I have been looking for a new salon for a while. With quarantine going on I haven't been able to go to my normal salon and have since been hunting around. I found DK Nails and I must say this was by far the best experience I have had yet. Kim is so nice and I felt welcomed beginning to end even though I only booked my appointment 15 minutes before. Not just that, the safety measures they have put in place for this time period made me feel safe enough to relax and enjoy myself. I was skeptical as I have had gel polish 3 times before from 2 other local nail salons and it peeled off or chipped off within the first week. After getting my nails done at DK nails, it has been 2 weeks and they still look great. I will have to go back soon though as my nail grow out is showing (I have fast growing nails). I love this place. Kim is amazing and I have never had any problems. I have loved every set I have gotten done. They are taking the right measures during these weird times. They ask you to wash your hands when you come in. You have to wear a mask and the employees also wear masks and gloves. They also have hand sanitizer. read more
