My family and I have been coming here for years. The last few years we only order take out since we have small children and going out to eat with them is difficult. We love the pho. I'm picky about chicken pho and this place is one of the best in my opinion. My husband and older son order the rice plates at times and everything we've had has been very good. The owner is very nice. She is so friendly every time we have interacted with her and has a lovely smile. I debated how I would write/rate this review. I would have given less stars if I was rating my experience tonight. But I didn't want to discount the good experiences we have had in the past. I hope the owner reads this review as I was very disappointed this evening. We have dealt with one employee who is consistently rude each time we encounter him. I believe his name is Grayson. My husband has told me about him being rude in the past. Tonight I witnessed it myself. He had no sense of customer service when I called. He sounded very annoyed to take my order. When I came to pick up the order, as I waited for my receipt I contemplated whether I was going to leave a tip. I ALWAYS tip when I order take out. He did not smile, did not say thank you...He put my receipt on the counter without even looking at me, turned, and as he was walking away said, "your order is over there". Easy decision. No tip. When I got home I realized he did not give me the extra veggies for my soup, which he charged me for. Usually we get one bag of bean sprouts for each order of soup. There was only one. I did not call to let him know because at that point I wasn't going to go all the way back for a refund or to get the things he forgot. And frankly, I wouldn't expect him to be apologetic. I just hope this is an isolated experience. read more

With it being so hot outside I was talking to owner Mary and I was joking saying I wish they made a cold soup. She said they do, a Korean Cold Noodle Soup. Being curious I ordered it. It came out in a stainless steel bowl, flavorful broth, noodles, sliced pork, kimchi and a whole hard boiled egg cut into twos, also diced green onions. Everything cold. Kimchi wasn't overly spicy. A few months ago, my husband brought home DK Noodle soup for dinner when my son and I were sick with Covid. Sadly, it was the day I lost my sense of taste and smell. I was horrified and almost cried when I couldn't taste my favorite soup. Dang, I was a baby that day! Thankfully, all of my senses are restored and renewed. I enjoyed every bite of delicious spring rolls, egg rolls, and #9 (Steak and Well Done Flank) plus added meatballs. I ordered a large and enjoyed leftovers for dinner. Besides the tasty food, the service is friendly. We recognized the owner's son and told him how proud his mother is of him. She used to talk about him all the time. Service isn't great, and the food is pretty meh. My party asked for ice water twice, and we never got any. We were also grossed out that the server started mopping the floor at the nearby tables. The smell of cleaner while you're eating is unappetizing to say the least. My boyfriend ordered a large pho. He received a medium. I got the green bean chicken. It was a very small portion. It tasted fine, but it wasn't particularly good. I was still hungry after my meal but just wanted to leave this establishment. Awful sping roll that tasted more like a plain shredded lettuce salad. The wrapper was super dry, the shrimp was small and tasted stale, and honestly it just tasted like a weird salad rather than a great spring roll. Their peanut sauce was super chunky and awful. They have a great selection on their menu, but it may be a lot more time efficient to call in your order. It seems there is only one person running the register and one person cooking. Be prepared to wait if you order in person. We ordered their mango smoothie, spring rolls, chicken bahn mi, and bbq chicken vermicelli. All were very good but it took a while for us to get the food. Got a lil hungry from doing a little shopping at Walmart and decided to check this place out. I normally go to Pho Bac noodle palace on Mchenry and I honestly should have just went there. I ordered the #1 and it was terrible. The beef was chewy and overcooked, I didn't even receive any meatballs, the soup was salty and just tasted off entirely and the proportions were sad. I received 3 little slices of beef 2 pieces of tripe and cilantro, no white onions, no green onions and not to mention the noodles were overcooked and soggy as took them out the tray. Tried this place on a whim.... mainly because I could get delivery. I ordered, chicken pho. Although the taste in the broth was delicious- I felt the chicken left a bit to be desired. Also the produce included the basil, sprouts, onions and peppers...the basil was not too fresh as I noticed that it had black spots all over... I cleaned the basil and only added the nicer leaves to my Soup. The bean sprouts seemed not crunchy and slightly soggy, maybe I got the bottom of the barrel? I was hungry so I ate it. I survived. It was our 2nd time eating here and it will be our last.. we had order 2 small bowl of pho, egg rolls and 2 honeydew smoothie and chocolate smoothie. Our pho broth was so salty I couldn't finish it. We like chancing it with food joints we never heard of, and I don't give too many reviews but in this case I hope it helps them. First off, my wife asked for water and it was undrinkable. Shouldn't serve tap water... went to my truck to grab a bottled water instead. I asked for Pepsi.. and the fountain drink was flat, and lacked syrup. Wife ordered the special soup... not bad but tepid warm temperature. Everywhere we go for pho it shows up scalding hot. This was barely luke warm. Otherwise tasted good. But the pork sandwich I got.. had so little meat and the bread was a soft roll. I have had Vietnamese sandwiches at lots of places before and this one was quite disappointing. I expected crunchy messy bread. I expected a bunch of meat. I expected lots of flavor but this was just... bread. I felt sorry for the young guy who said he had been working there 3 weeks. The shrimp in the noodles were well flavored and the dish itself was light, perfect for summer.
