War Wor Wonton Soup
Mishelle L.

Quick service I love this restaurant is the best restaurant that I've tasted over the different Chinese restaurants in the city of Modesto. They're quick they're fast they give you a lot of food for the price. The restaurant is clean is quiet in there cause most of the people always pick up or get it delivered Music or sound is very low great always great and always out there for you when they say it's ready in 10 minutes is ready in 10 minutes. They have Chinese sticks you ask them for sauce, hot mustard, fruit, sweet-and-sour soy sauce, fortune, cookies, etc. they give it to you Great service. I wouldn't do another Chinese place in Modesto. Haven't found one yet that can beat them five stars.

Dinner was Soooo good !!! Dry Garlic Fried Beef Orange Chicken

Food was GREAT! Location was very casual and service was quick and easy .. our meal Was excellent Dry Garlic Fried Beef and Orange Chicken and pork fried rice and crab wontons .

Fried Garlic Chicken

I ordered to go . Staff was nice . Fried rice was delicious. I ordered garlic chicken and broccoli and the chicken was not fresh at all ! It was chewy and not soft at all . The container was piping hot but chicken was stale tasting as if it was reheated . The chicken was around $15 with steamed rice but I wanted fried and to make it fried was an extra $4. I only ate the rice . It probably would have been fresh if I had ordered to dine in . Disappointing as they live nearby and would have continued to eat there if they got it right the first time around .

Sweet and sour prawns but barely any prawns!

Don't buy their sweet and sour prawns! There are barely prawns in them! It's all flour and it is raw undercooked flour! No good. Not consistent on their chow mein or fried rice either! What a waste of money!

Chopped up egg foo young and gravy with meat mixed in not in the patty and where's the patty?

One of the best. It's been around and family-owned for as long as I can remember and never disappoints. Friendly people, fast service.

The decor had a lot to be desired but the food is delicious. I do wish the portions were a little larger.

Sushi restaurant or a nightclub?…read more My friend and I decided to go for a night out Downtown. When we arrived at about 7:00pm, we were told there would be about an hour wait. Despite this long wait, there were actually quite a few empty tables, but was overall still very busy. When you put yourself on the waitlist, they notify you through text when your table is ready. This gave us ample time to walk around Downtown while we waited. When we received the table-ready text (just short of an hour later), we were sat quickly in a nice U-shaped booth. This seating arrangement felt a bit awkward for a party of two, especially if you are sharing food. The booth is too big to be sitting close enough to reach but too small to not feel awkward. It is perfect for people watching though since the booths face the entire restaurant. By this time, the restaurant was completely packed, with just about every booth, table, and barstool occupied. Our waiter came quickly to take our drink orders. We got a Cucumber Martini and an Espresso Martini. The Cucumber Martini was incredibly light and refreshing. The Espresso Martini was not impressive. It didn't have a strong espresso flavor and was rather watery, but still alright. This is the type of restaurant, that especially on busy nights like this where they don't accept reservations, you should allocate a lot of time for the dinner service for. There is a significant time gap between each time the waiter comes around to take your order. There was probably 15-20 minutes between placing our drink, appetizer, and meal orders. This was not a problem for us, but if you are eating here before making a show at the Gallo Center, this may be something to consider. For our appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Ceviche. It was insanely good. It was subtly spicy and citrusy. The chips that came with it were light and not oily at all. I wish the portion was larger because the two of us swallowed it up in just a few bites. For our entree, we got the Salmon Tataki and Goodi Rolls to split. They were both very good and came out on a lovely platter. They tasted very fresh and high quality. The prices here are on the higher side but is nice for a special occasion or splurge. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. He was super friendly too. The restaurant was super lively. They were playing club music which was totally a vibe. It looked like this was the spot people hit before going out for the night. I noticed they were accommodating for both small and large parties, serving both rather quickly. I'll be back!

Came to Dynasty Garden after doing a quick "dim sum" search in Modesto. I had been craving dim sum…read morefor some time and since we were in town, I figured why not try somewhere new to me? Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.
