Total throw back to the 70's. Huge portions, neon red sweet and sour chicken and basically bland except for the salt. It's been awhile since Chinese takeout was on my list of things to get but here we are. These guys are working hard pushing the food out to the masses. I was watching a bit as they were finishing up my order. They moved like machines, they done this before. A fist full of this, a handful of that and a pinch of you know. All perfectly fine. Seems like a typical small Chinese restaurant. The food is good and satisfies your cravings. Portions are generous. Dependable. We order from East China about once a month. The restaurant looks like it has had no updates or renovations in a few decades. Takeout is the best option. Fast service. But they put it in styrofoam containers. Wish it was the old fashioned wax paper buckets from 20th century Chinese restaurants. Recommended for takeout if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I am truly impressed with this Chinese restaurant. I would've given this place five star rating if they had my item. (Salt and pepper pork chop). But I ordered on the phone and it was supposed to be ready in 10 minutes which is pretty impressive and when I came in to pick up my food, the girl knew which order was mine before I said a word. Ordered delivery, because we hadn't had Chinese food in awhile. Husband got cashew chicken (waaaayy too much celery and very bland) and I got shrimp chow mein (barely any shrimp, which was tough and overcooked, no veggies, and greaaaaasy noodles.) read more

First time in this place I walk in no hello or nothing I waited patiently for my turn when it got to me I said hi it's my first time here nothing no response just looked at me I then asked if they had more combo plates then the ones listed he then said there all combo plates I'm like ok cool so I ordered orange and garlic chicken and there hot and sour soup it tasted like and smelled like throw up and when I opened the combo plates the chicken was hot on some pieces and only warm on others and not much flavor from either of them they both taste about the same not to mention the egg rolls are really small I won't be back anytime soon I'll just go around the corner to (China Garden) food is good always hot good flavor and giant egg rolls read more

Unfortunately this was probably the worst Chinese food I've had... it was soggy and my broccoli beef was not sealed and spilled all over my car. I ordered through DoorDash so maybe they felt like it didn't have to be good. On top of that, it had no Flavor whatsoever... no salt or anything. The udon noodles I ordered had no sauce at all?? I ordered to go . Staff was nice . Fried rice was delicious. I ordered garlic chicken and broccoli and the chicken was not fresh at all ! It was chewy and not soft at all . The container was piping hot but chicken was stale tasting as if it was reheated . The chicken was around $15 with steamed rice but I wanted fried and to make it fried was an extra $4. I only ate the rice . It probably would have been fresh if I had ordered to dine in . Disappointing as they live nearby and would have continued to eat there if they got it right the first time around . read more

I tried this location for pick up. Inside were clean, and the kitchen area seemed well managed. The line of people was also impressive. Sadly the food seemed lack luster. Ordered parchment wrapped chicken, Mongolian beef, and pork fried rice. Our parchment wrapped chicken was over cooked and burnt insides on all of them. The Mongolian beef was okay, but it tasted just like the burnt parchment wrapped chicken? Lastly was the fried rice, this was edible yet also bland. I am glad they have people that seem to like the food. Definitely not somewhere I will try a second time. read more

THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN MODESTO! only reason I didn't put 5 stars is because sometimes you wait to even be greeted for a long time but worth the wait. Not the best though if you don't have the time to wait. Some nights we choose a different place because of this but really, really good and people are very nice. read more

I reviewed this restaurant 8 years ago and it was fantastic. Totally downhill from there. I ordered the house egg foo young and it was not at all good. Chopped up in pieces with gravy on the side with ALL the beef, chicken, shrimp mixed in the gravy. I ordered the egg foo young as a healthy carb option but this isn't it! Ordered food on the phone at :4:48 pm. They told me 15-20 minutes. Showed up at 5:10 pm and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. Sat there waiting for an additional 30 minutes. I went to the counter and asked how long it would be and they told me 5-10 minutes. People came after us, paid after us and left before us. I won't be back. Been coming here for years .. I usually get the garlic chicken combo. Always fresh & tasty. This batch was dry, no crunch, little garlic sauce. I ate 1/3 of it & threw the rest out. I remember it being hot, crispy & fresh. The fried dumplings were ok. Ate 2 of them, tossed the rest. Not sure if I'll go back. read more

I ordered to go, I really enjoyed it. My go too for Chinese food, is always sweet and sour. The regular place I go to wasn't open; so I tried this restaurant. Their sweet-and-sour was on point. It was nice and crispy, even though it was covered in sweet-and-sour sauce, didn't have that sogginess that tends to come with this dish. Noodles were good. I would definitely go back. Maybe dine in next time. read more

I did not realize it was under new ownership! The food is not as good as before, they got my order wrong the first time giving me sweet and sour chicken #5 when I ordered #7 shrimp chow mein but I tried them again and the vegetable chow mein was a miss noodles were overcooked and my to-go plate was full of liquid. Me and a friend came here for a quick dinner. There's not alot of good chinese restaurants out here. So Im glad we gave this place a try. I just tried to order lunch combos and they were trying to charge extra for each combo with fried rice/chow mein without meat, saying they have to cook it special. It's not like we are upgrading to meat, shrimp or anything special. Thought this place was a restaurant and everything was cooked. A deliciously freshly cooked to order. I have bought food here for delivery and they do not cut on portions or qualify. If you like Panda Express then you don't know quality. This places food arrived hot not over cooked food but food that tastes as if they just made a whole batch just for you to the point that 2 day old take-out tastes better, just add couple droplets of water and it's like new. Go try it it's great! This will be my go to for now on bc price and quality don't compare elsewhere. Thank you! Next time I'll get pictures. read more

It might look a bit funny but it is delicious ! The pork chow mein is thick and juicy, unlike Panda Express' thin flavourless chow mein. The Honey Walnut Shrimp is full of flavour and super creamy. The Orange chicken is very good & the Garlic chicken as well. I only reviewed the food I ordered. I would definitely recommend this place to eat. I did not dine in, I ordered thru DoorDash. read more

We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.
