    Chow fun
    Monique M.

Small parking lot. Decent size restaurant that can accommodate big or large groups. We were seated right away. Staff is nice but we came on a day that hopefully isn't the norm because service was very slow (but staff was very pleasant). The food was okay. Value was great. Prices for entrees and the servings alone make it worth coming here. The flavor was a hit or miss. Hot &sour soup was delicious. Peking spare ribs had a flavorful sauce but the ribs itself was cold/warm in temperature. The chow fun was fresh and hot but I would say could have used a bit of extra flavor. The Mongolian beef is what you'd typically expect. I'd definitely come back, due to their value. Most likely I'd order ahead of time and just do pick up though since it took a while to get our food. But it's still worth trying.

Ordered orange chicken combo plate for my son and to share. He does not like orange chicken sauce so I asked if they can put it on the side. The lady said no. Most restaurants do this with no problem She said she will have to charge me. Then she said he can place it in a container. I said okay. Then when I received my food, I asked for an extra plate, again most places have them for their customers, she said, "No worries don't have plates" then walked to the back. Very rude service. Paid $17 for this and couldn't give me a .15 cent plate. Horrible. Plus, the food was below average...at best.

Bbq pork fried rice, no carrots or peas

On the road again! Hopefully, this will be the last time this year. I'm a glutton for Chinese punishment so I decided on Chinese again tonight. I ordered the walnut prawns and bbq pork fried rice with no carrots and peas. I was served the fried rice first. They did what I asked and did not add peas or carrots. I tasted it and it was a little bland. I added some salt and that did the trick. I liked how the bbq pork pieces were not too big and overpowering. The pork had a nice flavor with a hint of hoisin sauce. The prawns were a big surprise. I thought it didn't have enough sauce on it when it came out. The flavor made up for it. What I loved was that it was not heavily breaded and it stayed crunchy throughout the meal. The bonus was that the walnuts were glazed! For once, it's nice to get a surprise when your expectations are low. Maybe that's what I need to do when I review all my dishes

So my review is strictly on food. I sent my husband to pickup an order to go and they were willing to take our order 35 minutes to closing which we appreciated. Great service. I normally go to the Bamboo across the street for pickup orders and Imperial garden for dine in. So that being said. I only ordered 4 items. First time to try sizzling rice soup so I have nothing to compare it to. It was decent soup. Mild on flavor. I ordered the house fried rice. It was comparable to basic county fair fried rice. Mongolian beef was the same. And lastly was my salt & pepper fish. It was so overcooked. I was trying to cut a piece off with my spoon and had to aggressively murder it to cut a bite off. I might be picky but take what u want with my review. I normally don't review unless it's super terrible or effing amazing but I haven't eaten all day and even starving I was so disappointed. I don't even remember exactly what my bill was but it is what it is. I guess I might b spoiled by my Chinese food experience. Ugh! I wish this would've been better. :(

First time trying Golden Bowl and the food was tasty. Upon entering, my daughter and I were kindly greeted and seated quickly. Our order arrived promptly as there weren't very many customers inside. Our favorite dishes were the garlic chicken and fried rice.

Garlic chicken, chow mein, with steam rice.

The restaurant is always clean and the service is fast and friendly. The food is always hot and fresh and has good flavor. Their portions are generous too. I had chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, and mongolian chicken, while my kid ordered steam rice, chow mein and garlic chicken.

Where is the rest of my chicken for $15 NOT worth it

I paid 15 dollars for like 6 pieces of chicken. The one I Hughson and Waterford don't do this. I will never come here again. The lady was rude and my plate was completely NOT worth15$ this is wild. You should be ashamed charging that and skimping on the meat

The folks who ran New China Kitchen, had retired in December of 2025, we had discovered. So we tried China Bowl, located in a strip mall and visible from the neighboring streets along with parking being tight. We ordered the shrimp wonton soup, fried prawns and egg rolls for starters. The soup and fried prawns were very good and tasty. The egg rolls weren't to my liking and were on the doughy side. We later ordered Broccoli and beef, orange chicken, the house fried rice along with Mongolian beef. The main dishes were on point along with being eye catchy. This place hits the spot and has great service if you like chiness food. All the dishes were very tasty and at a great price.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

Also, got a peek in the kitchen and the cooks looked authentic and Thai? That's why it's so yummy! lol.

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.

I liked how crispy and sweet yet tangy the bang bang shrimp was. This was probably my favorite item we tried! The chili wontons weren't too spicy and they were really generous with the amount of shrimp inside. Shrimp & wonton noodle soup was def a comfort meal growing up, so I'm happy they had that here! Portion size was very generous and broth was tasty. Noodles were cooked well too, and I liked the filling of the wonton. We also got the curry ramen with katsu chicken. The chicken was sooo crispy, it was one of my favorite items. The bacon kimchi flavor had a nice spicy kick to it. The beef chili oil noodles was tasty and I liked the small beef bits. The bang bang chicken had the same sauce as the bang bang shrimp, but I liked how the entree came with rice too. The philly cheesesteak eggrolls were super crispy, and if you're a cheese lover, you need to try this!
