They explained the challenges they had with the job and offered to come back and do the necessary repairs at their expense. It has been a few days since the repair and I am happy to report that everything now seems to be working fine. I greatly appreciate the way this was handled by Service First- they made it right and there's not much more a customer can ask for. I am now very satisfied and feel confident that I can contact Service First if there are any additional issues.

I needed a service visit after hours as my heater stopped working at around 9pm. The service person Jim D. came to my home within 40 minutes after he called me. He was there for about an hour and left with the heater working just fine. Jim informed of the issue that caused it to stop. I am happy I had a service contract because I am sure the fee for that visit would have been a lot more.

Gave my husband a 4 hour window from 8-12 and told him we were at the top of the list. No one showed or called us and at 12 we finally called ECI to see what happened. We were told that we were bumped down the list of calls because they accommodate contract customers first. While that's great in theory why on earth would we buy a contract from a company who can't even honor an initial appointment window? And doesn't bother calling to let you know? We were lucky enough to go with a different company who not only arrived on time but finished by 3pm.

But wait, they only have after hours service which costs even more.  This company obviously has not matured with the times.  A professional company would have done a better job of trying to figure out why their sticker, installation date and warranty info is on a tank they supposedly did not install. Go to a company that knows what they are doing.  I would not give this company my business or recommend them to anyone I care about. Years down the line, after giving them your business, your receipt will magically disappear and you will be out of luck.

So we can't be fooled. The tech tried to tell us that we needed to replace the control board. That's a $2,000 repair. We said no, but still had to pay $300 for his service call. Then we called a competitor who showed us that our problem was a hypo-allergenic heater filter with a weave so tight that the heater shut down rather than pump more air through that filter. It cost us $150 for the other guy's site visit and $35 at Lowe's for a new, less tightly woven filter. Problem solved. Don't go to Scatton's.

We are grateful the co detectors were working! This happened on a Monday. By Monday afternoon we had an estimator arrive to give an estimate. We decided to replace both furnaces and A/C units. Scatton's rearranged a few schedules to do our installations on that Friday with two crews. The crews were very professional and courteous and explained everything to us in detail. Their cleanup was immaculate. I highly recommend Scatton's and will be using them in the future for all our HVAC needs.
