Almost 4 months ago I walked into my son's new apartment and founded flooded in dark water. The kitchen cabinets and kitchen island need to be removed and thrown away. The process of rebuilding was a long and complicated one but one thing that was always pleasant was the service and quality of work of David, his wife and crew. I asked Dave to change a white shelf to a wood stain. He promised he could do it to match wood floors. He took a sample of my floor ( so did his helper a week later) he said $500 then $700 Over 4 weeks was later still no shelf at 6 weeks the shelf was installed with paint speckled and smeared and bubbling unsealed laminate. It does not match the wood floor. I called him over 5 times he has not returned to fix it. He says that he will but never shows up. read more

What an awesome experience we had with DM Custom Cabinets! They were super responsive and were able to provide an estimate for us to send to the insurance company and they were in and out of here in an hour and a half. Their prices were very reasonable when compared to other quotes that we got. We love how attentive they were by laying down floor and plastic coverings in the surrounding area. Decent people but not professional. They leave a job incomplete and are super difficult to get ahold of. They didn't use equal measurements (45 degrees) when putting in our cabinets so everything was lopsided. We had to go backwards and redo a bunch which was costly and extended our project by months. We actually had to teach them how to do the right measurements so the angles were symmetrical. Literally showed them where to cut and place the cabinets. Then they didn't level the cabinets and refused to finish the job. We got a partial refund but considering everything we should have received a full refund. We did a lot of the work for them and still have a bunch of touch ups to complete that they neglected to finish the job properly. They're reasonably nice people and possibly mean well but they don't know what they're doing and it'll cost you time, money, and your peace of mind. read more

David came by for a site visit several months ago to install doors on two hallway cabinets. I provided a large deposit and after trying to contact David a few times, he was able to send out a team to install. They installed doors for one of the closets using brackets that were loosely nailed into the wall and fell off nearly immediately. These doors also had a severe smoke smell. The remaining closet was not designed correctly, and David offered to remake these and install at a later date. After this point, I was not able to get in contact for several months and am now out my deposit without any completed closets. Initial conversations were quite promising, but unfortunately this project was not able to be completed and caused significant frustration. read more

DM Custom Cabinets is particularly good at working with older houses whose dimensions weren't built for pre-fab cabinets of a few standard sizes. You work with them to design a kitchen that works for you, without being limited to a few standard sizes of cabinetry. If a cabinet needs to be 27 and a quarter or 29 and 5/8 inches rather than 30, that isn't a problem for DM because everything is built by them. We loved the final design, and the final product exceeded even those expectations. Everyone who has seen the cabinets comments on the quality workmanship of each piece. David and his team did our cabinets and installed a kitchen island for us. We started with the cabinets. Full transparency, there was some miscommunication with that project, but the work done was beautiful. The suggestions they made were exactly what we wanted, and the kitchen went from looking old and dated, to clean and gorgeous. Raul & Giovanni are hard workers and extremely respectful. We then decided to do our kitchen island. We have a kitchen with little counter space and nothing to separate it from the den. I was worried about how it would fit in our kitchen, but David & Jacqueline had it under control with measurements. We knew we wanted a pull-out for trash & recyclables, which they did perfectly. They suggested a stain for the butcher block that we dismissed, but after looking at pictures of stains sent by David, we realized that the stain they suggested was actually exactly the right color to tie in with our counters & floors. We should have listened the first time. David stayed on top of the project and we're so happy with the quality & look of the island. It completely changed the look of our kitchen. We love it. We had some water damage in the laundry room and needed the laundry room cabinets to be rebuilt, based on some existing parts that were salvageable. He took the money for the closet he promised to build for me, sent a guy to demolish my existing closet, and then stopped responding to my calls! He disappeared with my money, leaving me with a hole in the wall. When I call from a different number, he picks up and says he will finish the job next week, but then never answers if I call from that number again. It's been two months since he took the money for the job, and I have lost all hope, my money was stolen :( read more

I recently underwent a complete remodel of a rental condo and I decided to try and just paint the kitchen cabinets myself. Needless to say it was a disaster as I just added another layer of paint onto the previous 10 layers. My wife wanted wood cabinets that would stand the test of time and withstand the abuse of 3 teenagers. David and his wife came over and gave us an estimate. A few days later we went down to their showroom, signed the paperwork and gave a deposit. 2 weeks later our cabinets were ready. We had our entire kitchen redone by David and his crew. We went from dark cherry cabinets to a white kitchen. They painted all of the cabinets white and installed new soft closing shaker cabinet doors. Pull outs for our lower cabinets and lots of extra custom things. We asked for super heavy duty hardware for heavy pots and pans. David even made us a custom island with quartz countertop and a spice cabinet that slides out. David added finishing touches around our new fridge they helped install just as a courtesy. They went out of their way to make us happy and came back a few times to make things just right for us. They are an honest operation and care about their workmanship and reputation. I even hired them to do my mom's kitchen which will go in next week. We were in search of a company that would just resurface 2 kitchen cabinets, but most wanted to redo the whole kitchen and couldn't take on our project. I contacted Dm and within a day they responded, asked for a photo of what we currently have and within a week they were out to give us a quote. Don't be alarmed by the 3 people who may show up- I think one guy was in training. They gave us a fair quote and were able to install our new cabinet doors within a few weeks. It did take a lil longer than they initially stated to install, but they communicated along the way. Installation was quick and the gentlemen who did it were knowledgeable. There were a few dirt marks and the installers happily cleaned them off and finished the job well. Installers called the owner so we could confirm we were happy with the results.
