Jeremiah was knowledgable, many great ideas we had not thought of, ordering was easy and on time. His measuring was spot on, everything fit perfectly. Our installer was fabulous... friendly, cleaned up every day, great care of the cabinets. Absolutely no issues. I definitely recommend J&J, I would absolutely use them again. read more

Hi my name is Tony and j and j did a cabinet installation in a job for me in Alpine, they did a horrible job installing the cabinets, including scratches, missing filler pieces, cabinets not installed right, drawers not able to open, they left all their trash in the job. I finished my kitchen remodel a little while ago and was recommended to J and J Cabinets in Santee by one of my neighbors that they had done work for as well. They started by coming to my house first to look at the space and we talked through different ideas on the kitchen and what was possible. I just thought I would simply replace what was there just like it was but with newer stuff but they had a few ideas on the layout that really made a big difference. Little things that made the spacing of everything more workable. After they left they emailed me some color drawings of the kitchen to show the idea of what we had talked about. I am not a visual person so that really helped me to see what it would look like. They had a nice showroom space with all the different cabinet colors and cabinet doors as well as a lot of countertop colors to look at too. It was nice to be able to see both the cabinet and countertop colors together as it helped picking out the colors a lot easier. The cabinets came in about 7 weeks and were installed in about a week. Overall, it went very smooth. Jeremiah the designer was great to work with, really patient with a novice like me and I believe it was his brother Josh that came to the house for the install, he was really nice too, explained some of the options as he went and helped me figure out where I wanted my handles put. read more

Buyer BEWARE. The ordering process goes so smoothly with Jeremiah, you think you've found a great company. The installation is another story-- a nightmare of a story. We paid extra to have them install the drawer handles and were told a nominal fee would be required for them to come out on another day after the floors were finished to install the toe kicks and door ends. They installed the door handles and we complained that one was significantly crooked. The mother (avoid her at all costs) told me that they didn't install them. Weird, because I saw one of her sons install them. All I was asking is for them to fix it. They buried "LIVE" electrical wire behind some cabinets. When we told them that there was wiring for under cabinet lighting, they told us there wasn't. My husband had to open the wall back up to dig it out. Hmmm. Then when the floors were finished, the mother quoted me 3x the original amount for the extra trip to install the toe kicks and door ends because they would need to bring tools. Um...having/using tools is part of the installation cost. I totally get the extra trip charge. There are other, better companies out there that understand customer service. This is just not one of them. read more

My husband has been working with J & J for years. Jeremiah really knows his stuff. If you have a chance check out their showroom. They have high quality beautiful kitchen layouts there. A lot of great colors and ideas to choose from. We are in the process of re-doing my son's room with these guys. Their rendering designs make it really easy to design and choose. J & J cabinets did the cabinetry for our recent kitchen remodel. We meet with Jeremiah to go over the layout and design. He was very professional and helpful. Installation was a another experience. Clean up was minimal each day and on the final day of installation our house was left a mess. All of the boards were cut right in the kitchen with no care to keep any other part of the house clean. When we arrived home there was sawdust everywhere, sweatshirts left on the floor, trash, shims, and water bottles. Even the front porch was covered in sawdust. Lucky for us the electricians were cleaning up the mess from the cabinets when we arrived and our contractor came the next morning to finish the job. Furthermore, Josh was heard making unprofessional comments about prior work done in the house. UPDATE after posting this review we did have an issue with one of the cabinets not being sized correctly and an appliance not fitting. Our contractor reached out to J & J cabinets and Joseph arrived the next morning, a Saturday and fixed the issue. Based on their professionalism, even after our review, and the quality of work we have revised our initial rating. read more

I went with J and J cabinets after getting 3 other quotes. They had better products at similar prices and are easy to work with. They carry Kraftmade and Waypoint cabinets. We went with the Waypoint, which is owned by American Woodmark and made in Arizona. American Woodmark also owns Shenandoah and Timberlake sold at the box stores. The cabinets are solid wood all of the features you could want. Definitely take a look at J and J cabinets if your getting quotes for cabinets. read more

I'm writing this a little late, but I cannot talk highly enough about J&J Cabinets, and how their design and installation went. We did a complete house remodel and every cabinet in the house was demolished and redesigned, plus we added cabinetry. Jeremiah, the designer, is one in a million, patient, knowledgeable and just a great guy to work with. Melissa, who coordinates the ordering and installation, is also an incredible person to work with and makes every effort to work within the confines of a construction job, like ours. J&J likes to come in once to install everything, but it didn't work out that way for our job. But Melissa made it happen, and numerous times, where her crew came out to install sections of the house as it got completed. This is not their norm, but she went to great lengths to fulfill our needs. If you want to contact me for any more questions about their work ethics or procedures, please do so. They are by far amazing contractors, not only are they a small family business, which I completely support, they are completely professional and hands in at every aspect of the job. Jeremiah is an amazing designer, he designed my kitchen with cook friendly aspects that I never thought of and made everything easy and accessible. I went to Lows and Home Depot only to find that my job was passed off from person to person and realized that they subbed most of the work out to God knows who. With J and J cabinets not only did I get the personal attention from start to finish, I also got a better price. I now have the kitchen and bath I could only dream of. If you have a small order, two or three cabinets, this is definitely NOT the place to have them built. After talking with them, I thought the prices were two high. I said I would call back with my decision. I tried several times to place an order, but no one answered. I left several message, however, all my calls and messages were ignored. Job well done! I get compliments from friends and family about how nice my kitchen turned out over and over. This family run business is what it is all about. From the design process with Jeremiah (Middle Brother) to the coordination with Melissa (Mother) and the installation of Josh and the other J brother (Oldest & Youngest Brothers) J & J exceeded expectation. As with any project I expect there are hang ups. The difference here is that J&J does everything possible to re-meditate the issue and make things right. I was one of those waffling customers that couldn't decide between this or that and during the design process and never felt like I was. Jeremiah was patient and extremely helpful with designing the perfect solution for "my" kitchen. When snags came up (and they always will) Melissa was calm and collected even when I was not so much. The installation brothers were accommodating to my every request and helpful with suggestions around every aspect of the final product. Went to J & J on the recommendation of friends who had them design and remodel their kitchen. We were interested in not only the kitchen cabinets but assistance with flooring, counter tips and backsplash J & J is a small family business that provided us with a full-service approach that included the pre-design consult ( both in-home and in their showroom ) as well as direct contact with the other service business they have worked with for the flooring and other things we wanted. Everything came together as we had hoped -- they worked with us on the design of the project until we were satisfied, and then assisted in getting all of the other pieces in place. The flooring and tile work was handled by GD Tile and Stone, whose owner was attentive and whose son handled all customer service issues like a pro ( he was on-site every day that the work was being done, up until completion). California Countertops did their work efficiently and expediently, with a great price, great customer service, and complete follow-through on the job. We have nothing but praise for the manner in which J & J handled the entire job. They came in within their original estimates, the design and materials were 1st class, and their subcontracting companies ( also including the electrician and plumber ) were wonderful to work with. We love the finished product, would use all of them again in a heartbeat, and have no problem recommending them and their affiliates to anyone. When I bought my fixer-upper, I had no idea what to do next. A friend referred me to J and J Cabinets and I'm so glad they did. I had talked to a few remodel companies, and checked out the "Big Box" stores. Jeremiah was completely, professional and really listened to what I wanted. He did the design with lots of options I never new existed, and always kept my budget in mind. We completely opened up the kitchen and doubled the usable space. I had and ugly closet with sliding doors in the hallway, and Jeremiah suggested we rip it out and put in base and upper cabinets that matched the kitchen (maple and black engineered stone). That opened up the whole house and gave me a whole new functional space that wasn't there with the old closet! We put in new cabinets and sinks in the bathrooms making the whole house come together. Jeremiah and his brothers did great work, all on time and cost. If you are looking for a professional remodel or upgrade I wouldn't hesitate to refer J and J Cabinets and Jeremiah. read more
