It died on me twice even though the lights did not indicate that it was low. The first time we thought the battery hadn't been fully charged before they dropped it off at the hotel, because it's supposed to last 6-8 hours and only lasted for 5, but no, it only lasted 5 hours the second time as well. Nobody from the company could help us when we got stranded, they told us we had to push it back to the hotel ourselves. How are people with limited mobility like myself supposed to do that? My 80 year old mother tried pushing it but the wheels kept locking up. We got stuck in traffic in the middle of the street twice! Finally a nice couple offered to help and we slowly but surely got it back to the hotel. The second time we got stuck with it in a museum. Security agreed to let us leave it there but then Scootaround said they would only pick it up where it was dropped off so we'd have to bring it back to the hotel again. Not possible. So they finally said they would retrieve it at the museum. No refund or even partial refund. Customer service was rude and not well informed at all about their products. Shame shame.

I rented my scooter for a convention at the DC convention center in early August. The scooter they sent me was faulty and the battery was draining extremely fast. Sometimes it would say it was full and then not even five minutes later that I was close to being empty and I needed to charge it ASAP. I ended up missing a lot of the con because of this. I called and asked for a replacement, but they told me they would not be able to deliver it until late the next day, which didn't work for me because I had scheduled events I needed to attend. I told him that wouldn't work for me, but since they could not give it to me any faster, I just tried to tough it out for the rest of the convention. When I called the following pick up of the scooter to give my feedback on the experience, the woman on the phone apathetically offered me a partial refund. I told her I didn't want that, I just wanted someone to call me back about the issue because it was a really disappointing experience that I haven't had with any other mobility equipment rental company. As per the beginning of my review, I never got a call back. So overall, terrible product, terrible customer service, & I will never use them again.
