So much better than Sacramento ,San Francisco , even grass valley...I mean DMV is known for migraines but AUBURN can be cake.

Never waited more than 20 mins. Easy parking and so far so good. Best DMV of more than 10 cities I've lived in.

Most of the employees at this location are very friendly and helpful. There are a few who can come across as rude and don't interact as well with customers, but overall our experiences have been positive. This location is efficient, usually with quick service and low wait times, which we really appreciate. We also love the "appointment" or "get in line" feature on the website--it makes visits so much easier and more convenient. read more

Wait time wasn't terribly long, very helpful in getting my license renewed since the website wouldn't allow me to do it online. Make sure to have a phone you can scan the check in with as that is how they give you your number now! read more

Best experience I've ever had at the DMV. The staff here were friendly and organized. I got there before opening and did not have an appointment. They give everyone in line a number and then they text you so you can see your place in line. Without an appointment on a Wednesday morning, it took about an hour and a half waiting. I forgot paperwork needed to get my new ID, but fortunately, I didn't live far away. The clerk put me in as an appointment so when I came back I wouldn't have to wait in line all over again. That was so helpful as my time to get back to work was limited. When I got back, I was called up right away. The nice clerk (know to wear great hats) actually discovered that my middle name was spelled differently than on my birth certificate. I NEVER NOTICED. My hubby went after making a reservation on line. He went in stood in line for five minutes and was in and out in 15 minutes! That's terrific!!! It's unheard of in the Bay Area. The staff and everything about this place was amazing! I scheduled an appointment to come here to get my REALID done. Walked right in to a lady sitting in a chair by a table asking for my info and check me I to my appointment. Right from there she let me know that Brandon at window 8 was ready to see me. Brandon was such a pleasure to deal with. Big smile along with his side kick Chuck! These two have a sense of humor and made my appointment the most pleasurable visit I've ever had at a DMV. Coming into the DMV with an appointment, you think you would be out within 15 minutes of checking in. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I arrived early for my check in at 1 p.m. The line for appointments was about six or seven people long. That alone took 20 minutes just to check in. After finally checking in at 1:15 p.m., it was over an hour wait. I know that the DMV is never a quick stop, and now I know it's not even quick with an appointment. However, let's look at it from the non-appointment view. The line to check-in was over an hour long... by the time you get to the front to check in with the reason you were there, you are faced with up to a 3 hour or longer wait. You're never going to run into happy people at the DMV... The office was clean, the back wall behind the technicians was decorated with license plates with clever sayings. They had a TV going with ads for entertainment. They were informational facts, movie trailers... and in the bottom right corner your number would pop up. There's no telling how far behind you are as far as the wait goes. This DMV calls your number in a different way. When your number is called it was your first and last initial and some number. I think I like the system better where you can tell how much farther away your number is, vs. the first and last initial with random numbers. All I can suggest is to have your paperwork ready when you get to the check-in desk. If you're updating your ID, renewing your ID, driver's license... Be sure to fill out the correct paperwork before you get to the front. There are forms available to do that. They also computers against the wall to fill out your information. With the lines that long, I would suggest bringing along a clipboard so you can fill your information out while you're in line to minimize your time as much as possible. If you fill your information out on their computers, and I saw it take one particular person 10 minutes to get back in line, you will still have to get into the non-appointment check-in line to receive your number. So have your identification ready, your paperwork ready, and lots of patience. Appointment or non appointment, you'll still have to wait in line for your turn. read more

I've had one visit and as much as I was dreading it, I have to say I was wrong and very impressed. I went in for Real ID, and to pay a tag, and I was in and out in about twenty minutes. That includes the time it took for me to fill out the web form. I had an appointment for the ID, so maybe that helped. Service was fast and friendly. I received my ID nine days later. It's real easy to find things to criticize, but we should also take the time and give praise when it's due. It's due for my experience. read more

The girl that attended me had an attitude since she saw me, racist towards Latino insinuating I wasn't legal when I am. Basically had to pay the double because she had an attitude and did her work wrong . Told me the money would be back in 2-3 days and nothing they just took my money . Was still mad at me even though she was the one doing her job wrong . The manager it's great but not some of the employees . She didn't even try to call her manager to try and fix the situation . She made me come the next day and still was having an attitude with me when she was the one doing her job wrong . Basically made me pay 65 dollars for a California id when it's really 35 plus taxes. read more
