Kiosk issues. Line was long waited an hour. Use a physical card may or may not work. I tried to tap then sent to a third party, a QR code appeared for me. Then when I tapped to pay it was not authorized. 2 attempts no luck. Later realized I was charged then have a pending credit. My credit will arrive in 1-7 business days. Why only one kiosk, when you are forced to pay at kiosk for certain things. DMV don't want you to have the option at a window. Very frustrating n waste of time. Several people had issues. Seniors should be allowed to go to window. read more

Worse experience the girl in the front with red/orange dyed hair and black glasses is by far the rudest person. I waited to ask for her help and She told me can't you see 8 people talking to me. She started trying to argue with me over an appointment that was made all she had to do was check us in. I will never go back. I would rather drive an hour to go somewhere else. Idk why everyone is so rude and bitter if you hate your job find another. Okay so i have an appointment for my real ID early in the morning. So when it comes to take a picture i greeted this lady short blonde hair with glasses good morning and she just told me to go to the blue wall and look at the camera she was so rude to me and to the old lady after me. I work at the hospital and i know its frustrating sometimes but as if its late and not even half of the morning shes already mad. She doesnt have to do that to other people because is its the other way around sh will be mad like she have a right or something. People go the dmv for nothing. And took their day offs to make an appointment. I hope she reads this and realize that if shes tired of her job; then retire or something because other people i bet whats her position. read more

I figured I'd be there for the whole day or a week maybe if it was Glendale. They got it all done for me with only one problem as I invariably filled out a form incorrectly, but they had my place in line which was a novel concept for a DMV! Make an appointment!! This was my second time visiting this DMV office. The appointment line looked long but went quickly. Unfortunately, my first time in line I was "too early". Lesson learned you cannot check in more than 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment. I got back in line and to the front just in time. Here at the DMV with my son for our real ID's. It's my first time at this location. There's plenty of parking outside. Inside is way bigger than the other location. There's plenty of chairs to sit and plenty of people seated. We made appointments online to hopefully make the visit smoother. We arrived around 15 minutes early and got in the short appointment line and we were both checked in. After checking in we were seated briefly and our numbers were called right away. Wish I could put zero stars. I'm not the smartest but when I scheduled a drivers license appointment in the appointment page online. I thought I would be fine since I need to take the road test. But today (after waiting a month) when I went I was told I scheduled the wrong appointment. I had scheduled the drivers license appointment, not the behind the wheel road test. Mind you, in the appointment page in the DMV website you don't see "behind the wheel road test" option, you will only see the drivers license appointment option, so in common sense I figured that since you need to pass the road test to get a drivers license, the drivers license appointment will do fine, but NO, YOU HAVE TO LOOK UP THE BEHIND THE WHEEL ROAD TEST ON THE APPOINTMENT SEARCH OPTION AS I WAS TOLD AND SCHEDULE IT THERE. So in common DMV fashion you have to schedule your road test separately from the drivers license appointment even though you need to pass the road test to even get a fucking drivers license. Please don't make this mistake, I now have to wait two weeks and drive 1 hour to van nuys to take the road test. I fucking hate the DMV, I will never forget this, they are separated from common sense, the LEAST they could do is leave a "behind the wheel road test" option on the front page of the appointment section, instead of not telling you that you have to look up the road test on their search system to schedule your road test. If I ever become a politician, you can count on me to take the people's hatred and sadness to instill some common sense into the shit system the California DMV uses. PLEASE don't count on the California DMV to be smart and take your best interest at heart. read more

My son had a test behind the wheel today, my son had an instructor that knew no English whatsoever after driving two blocks he had my son pull aside and without mentioning anything, walked away and went to another vehicle and started banging on their glass, saying stop following us. Then the instructor went back to my son's car was upset was kind of being rude at my son and just told him to go back to the DMV and reschedule his appointment. he was very unprofessional. I'm not sure what really happened but people like that shouldn't be working in buildings like this kids go these kids go to take a test and people like this gentleman that you know English, some other foreign language how to ruin it for him I honestly wish I knew his name so I can put his name here and everybody can know who he was. read more

It's probably considered odd to give a DMV office five stars, but I must admit that my two recent trips in November 2023 and January 2024, both on weekdays, first to catch up late registration payments and next to get a driver's license renewal with an upgrade to a Real ID, went swiftly and smoothly. Of course, it's important to do the prep work the DMV requires online before going into the field office, but once I had that part in order, the actual visits were quick (less than one hour for registration catch-up with no appointment, less than 20 min for Real ID, including document verification, new picture, and temporary license). Some of the staff had the stereotypical "I work at the DMV and hate my life" attitude, but they were still prompt. The lady who verified my ID documents happened to be the same one who helped me with my registration two months earlier, and both times, she was very pleasant. (She's at Window 13.) As for the waiting part, the waiting area is spacious, and the restrooms were clean. Again, five stars for the DMV is weird, but hey, that was my experience. read more

This is my second review and also 2nd time here. I arrived on a Monday at 4:35pm. I needed to pay my registration and get a pass for smog. By 4:43pm I was being helped. I left at 4:47pm. 13 minutes later no appointment. Not bad. Not bad at all. The worker was serious no smile but didn't give me crap either just took my cash and gave me my paperwork and I was on my way. If i ever have to go to DMV again....i will come here. The only office available about a month and a half back after trying both Newhall and Santa Paula. Over the years I've stood in DMV lines in Inglewood, Downtown LA, Monterey Park, Glendale, and Newhall. But my scheduled appointment today to renew my drivers license with the Lancaster DMV was by far the most pleasant experience of all of them, and I've been driving since 1971! Available appointments, huge parking lot with multiple empty spaces, friendly office help, and a large waiting area with numerous seats to choose from. Due to my vision situation I'll have to make a return visit after seeing my ophthalmologist. But unlike every other DMV I've stressed out at in the past this office almost; with an emphasis on almost, makes it a pleasure to return. read more

Got card. Returned with card. Told that I had to have MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE and REAPPLY for BRAND NEW LICENSE. The lady at Window 25 would help us without going through the lines. Waited 15 minutes. Rude man at 26 said she had gone to bathroom. Finally supervisor said lady was GONE. Go to red carpet line for new number. Guy at desks said to WAIT IN LINE for new number. Went here today for the first time. Made my appointment two months ago and it was just for a name change nothing crazy. We live near the newhall DMV and I refuse to ever go there again. The lines circle the building and the place is just too small. The people try to be nice but they are maxed out because of the demand on such few employees so say no to the Newhall location . So we arrived here at this beautiful big clean location. Tons of parking which is really appreciated!! We walked in and the first person to greet us asked do you have an appointment. We did so we joined the line on the left. If you don't have an appointment they have two people who ask you basic questions to get you started and they then send you to the line on the right. We arrived at 9:20 and my appointment was for 9:40. I was about 6 people back in line so we waited and then the window person greeted us and took my information and verified I had all my paperwork. He then sent me to window 37 but first I had to the computers in the back and input my new name information. It was a quick process and then I was in line at 37. This line took about 5 mins not horrible but I was 3rd in line. So we finally were greeted by window 37 and she looked all my paperwork and said wait for your number to be called. She wrote down a letter and number and told us to have a seat. This wait was the longest and it was about 10 min again nothing bad at all. We were greeted by that person promptly. Spent a few minutes verifying all my information and signing things then paying. Got my okay! Then sent to another line to take a picture. Waited less then a min in that line and got my pic taken and I was done. Left the Lancaster Dmv at 10am and I was happy. It all went smoothly. Everyone was polite and all in all it was the best Dmv appointment I've had. read more

L (didn't want to spell your name wrong) and the fabulous Melinda! If you're looking to find kind and wonderful gentleman, this is where they work, along with the kindest ladies. Walk-in with a bad attitude and they will mirror you. So please be kind and nice, trust me, kindness, a please and a thank you will work wonders. Just in case, you should not drive any WMD's , sorry that was to easy. Don't wait until the last minute for a Real ID, reason why I was there 2X, had our one n only n Hubby in tow for my second visit. Oct of 2020 if you drive you'll need one, if you travel to different states you'll need it for traveling abroad as well. I read the horrible reviews, 37 windows and 10 workers. Same old state ran mess, lines were really long but I did learn a some tricks. 2 lines, 1 for the honest (long slow line) and the other for the dishonest (short line). The line that says appointments or disabilities is the short line and nobody will ask your disability. I seen perfectly able bodied people walk straight through that line. read more

What a nightmare. I came in Tuesday August 6th for an appointment with all of my documents in hand and still had to wait. The staff was very rude. They speak down to you and cut you off mid sentence. Don't bother making an appointment, you end up waiting longer. The lady working the appointment line kept calling people (of her same race) from the non appointment line before the handicap and appointment line. There's 37 windows, half are staffed, moving at a snails pace. I suggest doing what I heard others doing, go to DMV's in slower cities. Even if you have to drive a bit, you'll still beat the never ending wait, racism, and rude service at the Lancaster office. read more
