After riding for a few weeks, I noticed my forks were leaking oil, so I took it to Nor Cal Cycles for a repair. From the moment I walked in, Alfie greeted me and made me feel welcomed. He took the time to listen to my concerns and scheduled an appointment for me to drop off my bike. About a week later, Alfie reached out with some honest recommendations, including changing my tires which I happily agreed to. His honesty and kindness are truly refreshing in today's world. Where finding folks who take pride in what they do a bit tough. Alfie also shared with me additional advice about my bike once I came to pick it up, which was great. A huge thank you to the entire Nor Cal crew, and especially to Alfie for making this experience so smooth. I'll definitely be returning!

Nini at the front desk was absolutely perfect for the job imo: compassionate, reassuring, and exactly what a first-timer needs before throwing a leg over a bike for the first time for real. Freddie and Henry were great too, really easy dudes to talk to and very helpful with sharing tips and other pointers for me. I'll be honest, I dropped the bike an equal number of times on both sides over the weekend, all at zero mph (embarassing af). Symmetrically bruised ego, perfectly balanced. Returning it felt intimidating, but the whole team handled it with zero judgment and genuine professionalism. I didn't try to hide anything and they made the whole process painless, albeit with some monetary penalties caused by my inexperience (I own up to this though). I'm leaving with my wallet lighter but with my heart genuinely fuller for the experience. The environment this shop creates for nervous beginners like me is genuinely rare, and it made me feel supported and motivated to come back and do better next time. Will absolutely be back for my next rental and keep getting ride time in, because real experience gained like I did is priceless. The human element of the shop is just cherry on top, and makes me feel good I'm supporting a local business. Shoutout to Nini, Freddie, and Henry. You made a squid feel welcome.

He was very friendly, yet professional. Met him in the parking lot near Lake Merced and the Zoo. When we arrived, he already had the motorcycles unloaded from the trailer and waiting. In our case, my friend and I booked a lesson for just the two of us. Since she is all of 5'2" on a good day, Jonathan selected the low-rider Honda rebel for her. Since I am quite tall, I was given a tall, rough and ready dirt bike (believe it was a suzuki). Both bikes were in good shape. Over the course of the two days, we took two 2-hour classes back to back. Neither of us had any prior experience. By the end of the second class, we had learned to properly mount and start the bikes, shift up and down from 1-3 gear, perform turns to the left and right through a series of traffic cones. I am excited for my next lesson - which happens to be scheduled for today! Highly recommend!

I have used Bay Rider's Group service of Motorcycle renting for DMV Test…read more Do yourself a favor for your DMV Motorcycle test and forget the idea of using your big new shiny motorcycle to do the test. The smaller the bike the easier it is to do this test. I am an experience rider, more than 10 years, but relocating from Canada to California, DMV requires me to redo all of my tests. I have my own motorcycle, but I repeat my self, go for a smaller bike, you will have all the time in the world to show off on your own bike. Bay Rider's Group is renting a small Nighthawk 250cc, it is perfect for the test. Yes you will look like a giant on it, but the circle on the circuit will look big on that bike. The bike is not new, but you will ride it only for 1h and 5 minutes :) 1h practice and 5 minutes test.

I seriously can't believe this location is still in business with their risky and endangering practices (renting out a sketchy Sportster). Kevin, you are a huge liability and a terrible representation of Eagle Rider with your lack of organization, limited inventory of poor quality bikes, lack of customer service skills, and your failure to understand and meet your customers needs. I hope you learn to take safety seriously, and also learn to take accountability.

First, I would like to say that I have had great experiences with Eaglerider in the past…read more Unfortunately, my recent experience Kevin of Eaglerider Carmel was absolutely unacceptable. My friends and I flew to California to rent motorcycles for a big event in Santa Margarita. We booked a month in advance and paid a deposit on two sportsters and two softails. From the beginning, Kevin acted as though renting motorcycles to us was a huge hassle and complained that we called him too much for information. When we arrived on the day of the event, he had two street glides and two sportsters. The street glides were bigger than the soft tails we had reserved and one of the sportsters was older and didn't look up to Eaglerider standards. Once we were on the road, we realized that the second sportster was having mechanical issues; slipping out of gear and the throttle was difficult to open and close. We got to the event and set the older sportster aside because the renter didn't feel comfortable riding it. When we woke up on the last day and packed up our bikes to leave, the throttle on the sportster was so stiff that it took two hands to turn it either way- it was unsafe to ride. We called Kevin to let him know what was going on and he was dismissive of the issue. He told us it needed to warm up and to pour some hot water over it (which is an odd request for something that we paid over $400 to rent for a weekend). When that didn't work, he became combative on the phone, saying that he wished he'd never rented to us and that we'd been a hassle from the beginning. He asked if there was a man around he could talk to and told us that if he and his mechanic (two highly experienced professionals) could get the bike back to Monterey, then we would be footing the $2000 tow bill. We have videos of a mechanic looking and the bike and telling us not to ride it. When we got back and reached out to Eaglerider, they told us he had registered us for two soft tails, one sportster and a SCOOTER. This made us believe that the bad sportster wasn't even insured at all. We have videos of the motorcycle issues, we have videos of Kevin's reaction when we arrived back in Monterey, and we have recordings of phone calls with him being argumentative and unhelpful. We have reached out to Eaglerider corporate and are working towards a resolution. If anyone is looking to rent in California, I would go to any other Eaglerider besides Kevin at Carmel. This guy is super shady and unprofessional and gave some of the worst customer service I have experienced. He'll probably respond calling me 'dishonest' but he was the one breaking rules and putting my friend in danger.
