Needed to rent a car for a week while in town, was the closest by walk and the cheapest due to underage fees. The car is really old and busted but worked fine and very fuel efficient which made it even cheaper. Great service. Some ass hit my car whilst I was parked so I had to put in a claim to get my car repaired. Since my car was relatively new I didn't opt for rental coverage so... I Yelped and found this local place that did everything in their power to help me. Not only did they pick me up (they don't do that) from the auto body shop, they picked up the car and grabbed the keys from my neighbor. I was working on Saturday and had a million things to do in preparation for our flight the next morning. After I gassed up I was about to head over but then I realized that they close at 1PM on Saturdays.. not at 6PM like on the weekdays. That was my fault so I called and left a message. I parked outside my complex and gave the keys to my neighbor. I'm so thankful to have found this place. I would have gotten a discount w/ Enterprise through my insurance but would I receive the same service as I did here? Highly unlikely. read more

Morgan and the team at Service Rent a Car saved our vacation. We had booked a 15 seater van for a long road trip with Enterprise more than a month in advance. They cancelled the day before our trip. Apparently, this is a trick they have where if someone reserves for more they don't honor reservation. We had all our hotel and airbnb reservations confirmed. Morgan was able to get us a van in a few hours, and didn't overcharge us - even though he could have. Collecting the van and returning it was easy, the van was big, new and clean. I was able to rent out a car for a week equivalent to a 3-day car rental cost I got from the airport. The people, the family that runs this business are honest to goodness type of people. They are very warm, friendly and genuine in helping their customers. They are very thorough and detailed in checking your car insurance coverage and they explain everything well, even the secondary car insurance that your credit cards/visa provide. They made the process quick and efficient. After 2 weeks of having the car, they made the return hassle-free and easy. They didn't even bothered to check how the car is, just the mileage and gas. Just spoke to Jake on the phone to get some quotes, and he was a darling to deal with. He was genuine, sincere, and helpful. I need to move a sectional couch and an accompanying ottoman. Jake helped me choose the 10ft cargo van, even though I was initially looking at the 15ft moving van. I find him very honest. Going to complete my move tomorrow! I will update this review after usage of the rental van. --- Well, tomorrow came and went, and the move was very smooth. I did get the 10ft cargo van after all and it was perfect- just as Jake predicted. It fit everything. Rental came out to be about 60-something that included a 100 mile allowance. However, I did have to refill the gas at my own expense. Wasn't bad. Overall, I really like the experience. I see myself as a returning customer. Favorite things about Service Rent-A-Car? I was looking at over $2K+ at least to rent a car for a month from a name brand agency but I was out the door for one full month for around $900. Jake even stayed on the line with me to confirm that my credit card provided complimentary collision insurance. Was looking to save the customer money. Just retuned our rental minivan after a fab road trip all the way down to LA. The service was great - they are super friendly and helpful. The price was actually lower than all the big car rental places too! The car we got was a Toyota Sienna - our preferred car and it was great that we knew what we were getting - none of this 'or similar stuff' that you see on the big car rental company websites. We chose the older/cheaper model but they gave us a free upgrade to the newer model. When we went to pick up the car they spent a lot of time with us being sure they answered any questions we had and showed how to adjust and stow the seats to meet our needs. I needed a larger passenger van for a family vacation. The big name rentals by the SJC airport did not come close to the low price and large size van I needed. This family run business is honest and fair with their prices. I say honest because unlimited mileage is not unlimited if there are restrictions. Another company I called had cheaper prices up front, but with hidden charges and restrictions on unlimited miles Service Rent a Car was the better choice. Morgan went above and beyond typical customer service and worked with me to get the right sized van for the amount of people and storage we needed. Jake made picking up and dropping off the van easy. He gave tips on driving, watching mirrors, vehicle distancing and helped run through the basics of the van. Most rental places I have used just gave the keys and let me figure out the car on my own. He was very thorough and the pick up experience gave me the confidence they truly care about their customers. The Ford Transit van was truly a great van which handled well, surprisingly good gas mileage, super clean and I felt safe having my family and extended family in it.
