I had to have a tow for services due to a tire theft. This was a big deal that SF Wheels basically kept putting a mountain bike tire replacement after I had told them I ordered the original tire from Velotric. The mountain bike tire wasn't designed for city street riding that could slip in rain on painted crosswalks, etc. I already had a broken shoulder from slipping on wet roads in 2014. The owner insisted to install the mountain bike wrong tire again I didn't want being entrapped without a choice. What I've revealed above was my second experience outcome. The first time they put used parts from unknown e-bikes with a used tire and rusty spokes without informing me of these details. I thought SFW was offering original parts on the phone with them. They charged $125 labor only so I provided a $40 tip. I took my bike home not knowing the real situation! When I later saw they used rusted spokes with a used tire, I contacted Velotric and ordered a new tire, tube, frame and rotor. I then let SFW I replace their old used parts with new ones with a new tire to install. This started in late February 2026 and in March 17th I still don't have the ebike done of the simple tire change request. Instead they caused these problems forcing things on me, giving me rusty spokes, never calling with questions like "are you okay with used parts from other bikes and an old rusty spoke used tire as well?" It's likely some type of misogyny crap over a woman forcing a tire on me I was too wary of for my safety.

They sell a kinda of curated goods from a small selection of tools, lubricants, snacks, and gear. I bought some very well fitted gloves there. What really impressed me was the way they operated the store. It got busy at one point and chilled out... then it got busy again, and they did not miss a beat! But on top of all of that, they were servicing bikes that had appointments or walked in, all at the same time! I was able to bring my bike in, but I also saw they had those bike repair racks in the front and back of the store - they're not playing around. I saw someone walk in with their bike listing off a bunch of stuff he wanted to look into fixing, and the staff person in the front immediately threw it on the repair rack and said 'let's take a look'. They also have this roller situation setup in the front where they can take your bike and run it in place to show what it does while in motion. This place means business and they are super friendly! I wish I had something like this closer to home, this store is doing a service to their local community.

I eventually relocated to San Diego and took my triathlon game to the next level. After moving to SD, my old coach always used to send emails to the team that Pedro was coming down to LA (maybe every 6 months or so) and that if a fit was needed, the team should book early. Since I was quite a ways away, I thought, "Forget it. I'm not driving to LA for a bike fit." Fast forward another 10-plus years, and I relocated again, this time to the Bay Area. At the time, I decided it was time to dust off my road bike and get back into shape. I started asking around about where to get a fit. A few local shops were recommended but they were charging what I thought were egregious amounts for a fit. After a quick google search, I saw that Pedro was now "in my backyard" and promptly booked a session. I went with my road bike and had an awesome session. My bike felt like an extension of me again! The session itself was great. We got to know one another. We laughed. We became fast friends! A few months later, it was time to get my tri bike fit. It was more of the same. Brilliant. The bottom line is that after working with him for several years now, with additional fits and adjustments, he is my forever go-to fitter. And now that he has started to set up shop in LA again, whenever I need a fit, you best be sure that I'll be making that drive!

My first bike was bought second hand and I found out it was too small for me when I was getting fitted :') but Pedro helped position the bike as best as he could to make my ride as comfortable as possible. He also recommended me bikes for my height/ body length that would fit me best and if I wanted to ride longer distances I should probably consider it. I ended up buying a new bike in 2023 haha. After riding the bike, I made a hell of a difference! I wish I had been educated sooner about bike sizing and fitting. Such a game changer now!

You can tell they take the time to actually read your messages, and therefore are able to respond with actually relevant and useful information. The team at this location worked with me to reschedule, then unfortunately cancel a driving test concierge booking appointment I'd had with them. This was due to COVID-19 and the DMV postponing all behind-the-wheel driver tests for months. They were so understanding and made the refund process smooth and stress-free at a time that is already so stressful for many. Thank you! I drove to the nearest DMV and the people in line were waiting for four hours and not close to being processed. I remembered YoGov and decided to use them for my appointment.Their web site states: "Save yourself from those dreadful lines. Book an appointment in seconds." and my time is valuable so I have no problem paying $14.99 to get an appointment. Well, there is a catch, my friends, and it is a big deal. YoGov is constantly just scrubbing government websites trying to find appointments and they cannot promise any results. Here is the rub: pay for something that is intangible, not guaranteed, and impossible to discuss with the vendor. The web site is clunky and super limited. The limited options include: ASAP; after 3PM; or before 10AM. There is no way to pick the DMV that they send you to. And the worst part is that this business is mechanically harvesting open time slots making it even harder for people to get appointments. ________________________ Now to address the comment they made, which I have a major issue with. "1) We don't harvest any appointments. When you submit a request our team begins to look for an appointment for you just like a personal assistant would on your behalf." They do not mechanically harvest appointments for non people to reserve, however they do harvest appointments for people like me that will not use them resulting in a reduced supply of appointments, this benefits their business. This comment is false, harvesting appointments is their business model. Additionally, the problem runs deeper. It appears like I missed an appointment and I do not like my reputation compromised. The second problem is that appointments are hard to come by so they took the appointment away from a person that did need an appointment. "2) We refunded you for the original charge and added a credit to your account, although it looked like we had the official confirmation but the DMV's computer system had an issue. " This is untrue. The DMV did not generate the email that I received, it came from YoGov. There is no way that the DMV just booked a random appointment for me, sent that to YoGov who then transmitted the appointment to me. "Your satisfaction is always guaranteed!" I am not satisfied, so the guarantee is worthless. "3) I think you may have gotten a reminder for an appointment that was still in our email reminder system, unfortunately, and that's what's caused the latest confusion. " So instead of owning the issue they are blaming this problem on a computer. This goes back to the point of this review, their system is the problem. You can tell a lot about a business by how they manage problematic situations. You can see here that they have not managed the problem, but they just made up excuses. They even went so far as to try and refute the fact that they are harvesting appointments. That is exactly what they do.

Paul came highly recommended to me and I can see why! The fitting was nearly 2 hours. Paul listened to all of my concerns and made sure he understood my current training and goals. He not only adjusted my bicycle but also provided coaching on improving my pedal mechanics to optimize efficacy. He has a nifty computer program that measured the angles in which different body parts were moving while I was riding so I could see the difference before and after each correction that he made. He also made a digital drawing of my bike so I would leave with a record of every angle of every part of my bike. Paul completely change the way that I ride. I increased my speed by 2 to 5 miles per hour with the same heart rate on the very next right I did after my fit with Paul. A fit with Paul is more than your standard bicycle fit. It's located underneath the gym next to the entrance to the soccer field. I've NEVER had any problems here but there have been a few employees I feel wouldn't have done a great job protecting my baby which worried me a little. For example: One time I was picking up my bike and the attendant was playing Guitar Hero. I walked up with my bike to the window and turned in my 2 matching tickets and signed out on the book. He didn't even look up. So, I stood there for a while until he said: "Hey Dude, I know I'm playing guitar hero but if you're trying to steal a bike right now, I will F*%$ YOU UP!!!!" I laughed and he said that there were camera's down there. I haven't seen him there since. Just as an added precaution, I lock my bike up now.

If you're trying to find it from the bookstore, just go toward the Burk Hall building, and make a right in between the Gymnasium and the Ethnic Studies & Psychology building. You will see an outdoor bike rack, just go through the parking structure ground floor and you will see it to your left. The staff are usually friendly every time I go. They have a little clock on the counter when you sign in/out now so you don't have to guess what time it is. Have peace of mind knowing that an actual person is always behind the counter, keeping an eye on the bikes. I always lock mine up (better safe than sorry) but if you don't have a lock, that's ok too (but at your own risk, of course). Bonuses: they also have a bike tire pump, just in case you happen to need it. No more wet bike because of the rain/mist/fog/whatever, yay! So glad I found this place!
