I had to split my rating because I got two services done- my blowout was 5 stars, my makeup was 0 stars. I got an incredible blowout with curls from Danielle- she made me look absolutely beautiful and they were probably the best curls I have ever gotten from a salon. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and would absolutely return for a blowout. I also really appreciated her flexibility with timing as she was able to accommodate an earlier time for me because I was getting my hair and makeup done before my bridal shower. The only thing that confused me was their extensions policy is unclear for some types of extensions. Unfortunately, I had an awful experience having my makeup done. The woman doing my makeup honestly did not seem like she had any professional experience or training, and most of the makeup products were drugstore brands or extremely limited in color options (for example, there were literally two options for eyeliner, black or dark brown). As just a few examples- (1) I asked for very thin eyeliner, she put a thick line of liquid liner and the line was visibly wobbly; (2) when she removed the liquid liner, she also took off part of my eyeshadow, but then did not try to replace the eyeshadow until I asked her to, so there was a visible bare space on my eyelid; (3) she kept asking if we were done after every separate part of the face, I had to ask her to also do my face and lips... (4) I asked for a petal pink lipstick and she literally gave me rust orange. Eventually, I just had her stop what she was doing so I would have enough time to fix it myself, which is what I did- I literally went home and took off almost all my makeup and just did it myself. It added a huge amount of stress before a special occasion and I can't believe I paid $75 to basically do my own makeup.

My daughter ended up with something looking like a french braid that started half an inch away from her forehead, was untidy, not even properly centered. I on the other side asked for a trim, Patricia was nice but she missed the mark on what I asked. I had asked for longer strands in front and shorter back and she did the exact opposite. Haircut looks nice albeit boxy in the back and not what I wanted. But I can live with it. I really like the other stylists at Mimosa and this was quite a disappointing hopefully one off. They gave a discount for my daughter's braid but frankly they should not have charged at all. She opened her braid right away.
