The first guy was nice enough. I went to have my tires rotated and had to go back twice to get the tires balanced and they just did not seem to be able to get that right. The second guy I talked to after going back to have my tires balanced blamed me for not specifically saying I needed them balanced after the rotation. The third guy seemed to really want to help but I would have had to leave my car there over night. I ended up being able to get into my local car dealership to get the tires balanced. I suspect the second time I went back they didn't even try to balance the tires, they had no record I was there. If you value your time don't go here. I won't be back. read more

I took my car to Dobbs 6/7/23 to take advantage of a $40 AC check coupon they had online. I received a call stating that they drained and filled my vehicle and the total was $262.23. I picked the car up and it was EXACTLY the same as when I dropped it off so as soon as I got home I turned around and took it back only to find out that they DIDN'T actually do ANY repair even though they charged me for it. I was then told that my compressor was bad and it would be $1400 for them to fix. Fast forward to today, 7/20/23...I dropped it off with another mechanic who informed me that it was in fact NOT the compressor and my A/C had no freon in it. It was diagnosed, cleaned and filled for $300 and now works perfectly. DO NOT USE THEM.... I will be contacting the BBB to report this. read more

I have been a loyal customer to Dobb's since I moved back to St. Louis in 1995. They are not always the cheapest in town. (You usually get what you pay for). It's a long story, but, I recently had a sizing problem with a set of tires I purchased for one of my cars. It took a while to figure out the problem, but, when we did, I spoke to Tony at their headquarters, who concurred with the problem. He then contacted Bill, the Festus Store Manager, who also agreed and they took care of the situation 100%. This is why Dobb's might be a little more than some. When there is an opportunity to arise, they take care of the situation. That's part of their Customer Service to fix it and make it right. I was close to moving on to another repair place, but, due to their excellent Customer Service, I'm staying with Dobb's. read more

My 98 grand marquis was having issues with squeaky steering. I assumed that I maybe had a bad tie rod end or a bad idler arm. All of which was factory. So I replaced all the steering arms with the exception of the tie rod ends as they were still good. Upon Further inspection I realize that the lower ball joint on the passenger side had a torn boot I knew that this was a tricky job to do on a slanted driveway. So I Made a call to dobbs to get a quote, told them lower ball joint on the PASSENGER SIDE. Got my quote from the service manager and booked my appt. dropped the car off after confirming paperwork and so forth. Took delivery of my car and all seemed well. The next day I made a trip to Home Depot and noticed the steering was still squeaking and wondered what could that be????? I looked under the car and to my horror the passenger ball joint was still there, torn bolt and all. I looked across and the DRIVERS SIDE was all brand new. So I called them up reasonably angry, I didn't yell or curse and I was told "oh yeah our tech looked at it and said the drivers side was the bad side so we replaced that one." I said " that's not what I asked you to do, and why didn't I receive a call stating that, I didn't authorize that work. It was for the passenger side not drivers side" the tech snidely said " well what do you want us to do put the old shit back on???" After speaking to the manager after that we came to an agreement that if I brought the car back and they would re-inspect it to make sure that that ball joint wasn't bad and if it was I would pay for parts and they would cover the labor and when they re-inspected and they assured me nothing was wrong with the passenger ball joint other than the torn boot and they said they filled it with grease and I was good to go. WELL HERE WE ARE. Ball joint separated just like I told them it would. This is my 8 month pregnant wife's car. Thank god she wasn't driving, and thank god I was going slow through my neighborhood. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MY LIFE OR MY UNBORN CHILDS LIFE. This isn't you putting the wrong wiper blades on, you idiots could've killed me! I will never go here again, I kept getting sucked in because they are fast and I needed to get to work but the prices are way too high and twice now that I have dropped my vehicle off they have gone through the back of my vehicle and gone through my stuff. The first time I thought someone went through the back and got into my cooler and possibly took stuff but I could never prove it And ultimately let it go thinking I was paranoid. Call for price quote on tires was given a Fair quote my wife took the car in purchase the new tires and had them installed, my wife proceeded to pay the clerk instructed her to insert the debit card into the card reader and process it and at that point the clerk said sorry this card reader is closed and moved over to a new card reader and then ask her to reinsert the card and processed it again then there was a big kerfuffle and the guy told my wife he hope she never comes. This place is terrible. We always go to meineke but our van is having issues and Dobbs is closer to our house. We took it to Dobbs Saturday morning at 730. We were told they were going to charge us 125 dollars just to look at it. My first and only mistake was agreeing to that. We were in a hurry to get it fixed because we needed it to drive to work on Monday. We waited all day for a call from them. No call. Finally at 530 I called them for an update. Justin answered the phone and said our ticket was sitting next to the phone but he wasn't sure why nobody had called. He said he was going to talk to mike who is the service manager on Monday but unfortunately he was gone for the day. Justin went on to tell me it was going to cost 900 dollars to fix the egr valve on the van. No chance in the world we were paying that. We drove over and got the van and took it to meineke. By the way not only did they not call us all day, make excuses, and try to charge us an astronomical amount....but they also never even apologized!!! There are plenty of auto repair shops near festus. My advice to you is avoid this one. read more

For the second time I have had my tires rotated at this Dobbs and for the second time the lug nuts where not tighten. The first time they replaced the rim this time the just blew me off. So be careful at this store they don't seem to care that lugnuts are loose I called the headquarters and never heard back from them read more

My 1st experience with Dobbs in my local city was harrendous. I reached out to Dobbs corporate over the internet, and Bill Strubelt and the Festus shop bent over backwards to make it right. Treated me like I had value. Was so astounded that Dobbs cared enough to make the problem right! This is my new vehicle doctor. It is well worth the over hour drive to come here to be treated like a human. And have my vehicle properly repaired. Im back again for brake work. And its costing me half of what I was afraid it would. Because I'm saving money, I'll be able to replace my tires sooner! Now I have no plans to go anywhere else but Dobbs in Festus. read more

Buyer beware, get second opinion, get service at dealer and save money! This company gouges prices and recommends unnecessary work, and it is corporate culture. I was told ball joints needed replacement at price almost 3 times going rate and 1.5 times what dealer costs. Both Telegraph and Festus locations said repairs needed; Ford dealer said not necessary! Result: Corporate culture of dishonesty, taking advantage of customers! They deserve 5 negative stars as actions are practically criminal! read more
