I'm not sure if the pricing was too much or just right but, the service was definitely great. I went in on a Saturday, expecting to be waiting for a while for service and found out it was just the opposite of that. The guy helping me took my information keys and said he would give me a call about 9am to let me know what they say in my brakes. Keep in mind, I already knew I needed new brakes. He promptly called me about 8:30am and let me know that yes all brake pads needed to be replaced but also my front rotors need replacing as well. He explained that they could just be sanded down but it looked like that had already been done and he did not recommended it. All in all he quoted me around 500 for all brakes and the two front rotors which I felt was fair (I really have no idea here). So I gave him authorization and by 11:45am my car was ready to go. He showed me my old parts and the gash on my old rotors. Which I felt the replacement was warranted. A lot of times we rate mechanics based on their cost but I feel we really need to focus more on their customer service, expertise and availability. Dob's Brakes took the worry a out of the whole equation and with their speedy and precise service made my whole experience a great one. I called in for a quote on new front brake pads and rotors and instantly got an answer and when I ask when they could take me in they said as soon as I could get there! I found Dob's on yelp read the reviews called them on a Sunday decided to bring my truck in first thing Monday morning they were there bright and early very friendly staff diagnosed my truck within 30 minutes and the cost to replace my water pump was within my budget I had to do other things along with it such as the hoses but I wasn't able to do that due to my own finances so I will be bringing it back for them to complete it. I'm waiting now to pick it up but from what I've experienced with these guys, I would highly recommend them read more

I do not have anything negative to say about my first experience at Dob's. I dropped my BMW off for a brake job on Saturday and a few hours later I had front rotors and pads replaced for half the price of the German specialty shop I recently used for other work. I had an online coupon for $20 off brake work and when I went to redeem it, the guy working the front counter had already applied the discount. It's rare that I leave a shop completely satisfied, but at Dob's I did. read more

They did both of my brakes and didn't resurface the discs correctly. After 6 months, their mistake became more noticeable. It was partly my fault because I didn't return the vehicle to them, but they accepted no responsibility and chalked it up to my discs being old. They wanted to replace the discs. Went to another mechanic who told me I didn't need to replace the discs, just resurface them. I will never be back here read more

There was no up sell trying to get me to purchase unneeded items/services, just plain talk, show and tell (which I really appreciated as I am a visual person), and reasonable pricing. Usually don't give bad reviews and I don't consider this a bad one but more I have as advisory first of all the owner pretty cool but I do believe that his assistant or overall the whole break Shoppe is somewhat dissed honest they were proven that in front of their faces in a job that they were doing for me and I came back a month after he said if the problem still persists after even dealing with them trying to convince me of Problems that my car didn't even have so I came back when I was told just to inform you that the problem still persists and they replied to me in person with more excuses and lies and did not finish the job that was supposed to be done for me just be careful because truthfully and honestly their integrity is not there. One more thing to consider if the owner allows people to help and assist him that are dishonest and shady that makes me question the person as well. read more

Well my experience was short and disappointing. I've used Dobs many times on the past today I learned why it's been a while since I've been back. I tried to get a price on tires and was basically told I should try to see if Big Brand or America's Tire Co had better prices. There was a point to using Dobs this time as I wanted to purchase tires in the commubity I live in to give back to locals after Covid. I couldn't even get an estimate over the phone. Guess putting $800-$1000 worth of tires on my vehicle isn't what they want to do despite offering the service. Good luck, my family and I won't be back. read more

Did not try to upsell me on anything, and even pointed out some things that needed urgent attention. I came based off great recommendations. I just needed to do rear brake checks and so they do their thing and check it out and come back and give me a quote of $300 to do just the rear brakes. By do I mean changing the rotors and pads. That's a bit much don't you think? No this is actuallly one of the best prices out here. Couldn't believe what I'm hearing so I'm like no thank you and then as they give me my keys they tell me it'll be $18.75, I'm like $18 for what ? You guys ain't do nothing to my car and they said we checked it for you and told you what was wrong. You know how many places do free brake inspections and they over here charging me for some shit that should be free. That's like going to a restaurant ordering water and then being charged for water. Shit don't make sense, 1+1 = 3, don't make sense. Overall this place is straight dumpster goose sweat, I'd never recommend anyone here. I had a blow out on the 101 near Oxnard. It severed my brake line so i had to get it fixed before driving home to LA. I called several places in the area.
