I love the friendly service and reasonable prices. I have been a loyal customer for a couple of years now. They are very honest and I have never been lied to about what services my car needs. All I can say is thank God I found Dob's Auto Center when I did! I have been going there for over a year. In that time, I have had numerous repairs done to my 95 Trans Am (Original owner) Each and every time I bring it in, I get the best service possible! Aaron and Memo are both honest and fair with diagnosing my car - straight forward and completely understanding. The work is done quick and efficiently and is totally explained to me in detail. Additionally, the mechanics (Nick, Juan, Alfonso, and Eugenio are highly experienced and knowledgeable and go out of their way to show me exactly where the problem is! Typical oil change place... Easy to find and enter/exit. The price was fair, barely beyond the cost of changing it myself. The waiting area and restroom were very clean for a mechanic's shop. Oil change took about an hour so it's not a quick in & out. The only reason it isn't faster for such a simple job is because they insist on doing their multipoint inspection and rotating tires, checking fluids etc. Which is great if your into that sort of thing. I much prefer to just get what I came for, what I asked for, and what I'm paying for & that's it. It saves me time, saves them time, everyone's happy. Oh well. I recommend them for the average person, but don't show up with special requests. read more

Car broke down. Wasn't sure where to go. Hard for me to trust mechanics. Asked my dad where to go. His military buddies trust this place and they come to see an awesome mechanic named Memo. They were able to fix my car in the same day. Changed my spark plugs, ignition coils, pcv valve, front brakes and rotors, tune up, and changed the front struts. All for a great price. Dob's brake and auto deserves no stars.Dealing with this mechanic shop has been a complete nightmare. I took my 2013 car in for routine maintenance Feb 2018 and half hour after driving from their shop my engine was completely blown. Since then i have taken my car back to them 6 times. Final time determined my head gaskets were blown once again and Guillermo AKA Memo store manager refused to fix it saying "Your warranty expired" . He knew when my engine blew I had my 3 small children in the car stuck on the 101 southbound lane almost hit multiple times by other cars. I had to call 911 to get me and my children safe. Not once did Memo apologize and have any compassion that this happened. He has no customer service skills. I will not deny they have some competitive pricing, but remember you get what you pay for! My car started thumping and jerking while coming home from work on the 101 I thought my transmission was going out. My daughter tells me it could be needing a tune-up I called Dobs and spoke to Memo who right away told me to come in On my way over, my engine light turns on. I'm panicking. I'm worried it's going to cost a whole lot! I don't know these mechanics. I get there and I notice right away the shop was spotless. I was like Wow, nice! I go up to the counter and speak to Memo. He was very kind and courteous. They kept my car and do a diagnostic check, even gave me a ride home! It ends up my spark plugs needed to be gapped. He tells me everything comes out fine and all I owe is the diagnostic check. I was so relieve! I had to repeat again to him - all I owe you is the diagnostic check? I will surely recommend them to anyone that needs work on their car as well as myself. I will be back that's for sure! This proves good customer service, but I question some of their work. I brought in my Honda to have V-Tech selenoid replaced. Instead they replaced the head gasket. (My fault I did not read the receipt/order). When later found out the mistake and called to inquire, the person who answered the phone said "what is a V-Tech?" That lost all credibility for me. However, the owner stepped in and did a compromise and gave me a partial refund of $100. (Honda dealer charged $184 for the V-Tech). I felt that was fair of them. read more

My husband and I have been bringing our vehicles here for the last couple of years. Our son is in the army when he was deployed we had his truck serviced at Dobs. They went out of they're way to call his insurance and make sure all parts were covered under his warranty. They do great work at fair prices read more

This place lives up to it's ratings which is why I started coming here recently for brakes and tires on both me and my husbands car/truck. Memo is very straight forward and no nonsense about what is needed. He made me trust the place and they really get it done I finally found a place hassle free that's stand up service not shady so now me and husband will only come here for services. I took my perfectly conditioned 2012 Chrysler 200 Vehicle to get its 90k Maintenance at Dobbs Auto in February of 2018. I was told by Memo that the car was in amazing condition. One hour and $649.00 dollars later I was on my way to L.A. Suddenly my car system alarm went off and my odometer went haywire. The vehicle stalled on the busy 101 South bound lane with my three small children. The engine was smoking heavily and car would not start. I had to call 911 because of the danger of being struck by other vehicles. I had to tow my car from L.A to Oxnard. Accordingly to Memo, their mechanic made a simple mistake by not filtering out my oil causing bubbles to form and ultimately blowing out the head gaskets. It took them two and half weeks to repair. Since than I have taken my vehicle 3 additional times for other related engine problems. I have been patient and fair wanting my car to be in the same condition as when I took it to them initially. When I took my car recently the fourth time with my engine light on yet again and the car not driving the same. Memo said it was evap leak and it was not their responsibility. They refused to fix it. The unprofessionalism I have experienced from them was unparalleled. My family has been a customer of theirs since 2000. Based on the way they treated me as a long time customer, I will never give them any business ever! Any Mechanic shop that damages your vehicle and will not take full responsibility should not be in business.. read more

I am sorry but giving this Auto Shop a negative review. At one point I had really trusted this place, but this time they really disappointed me, I had two cars serviced there 1st car: The Fluids were not checked Antifreeze was never checked, it was completely almost gone (mind you this car was taken to them a few times already for service & it does not have any leak) not to mention other basic standard checks of fluids that is included in their Service were not checked. "But" the paper work I received stated everything was good in the car + it said the tires were good! What! When the tires to this car need new ones. 2nd car: Same thing fluids were not checked, I noticed this as I was curious to see if the fluids were were actually checked. ( as they were are supposed to check) the levels were low " what a surprise" 1st car that was taken In took 1 hour 30 mins & the 2nd car took 2 hours to Service, but nothing was checked! I don't even know if they actually changed the oil to the vehicles. And even stated the 1st car I took in needs new tires, but in the paper work it does it states tires are good. But what even more sucks about this, I have attempted to contact Al Bennett the (Owner) 3 x and nothing, it's been over a week since this incident occurred, and I still have not got Not ONE response back. The other thing, Memo (MGR) handled the situation beyond poorly, when I had to take time out of work to go show him their poor service, of not checking the fluids and tires to one of cars, as Memo had an excuse and justifying everything why the fluids were low Etc, ( here is what he also said his comment, after I was going back and forth about these issues with him, and told him I don't trust your business anymore; he got upset drove my car out of the lot when he was done having a look at my car and said; "HAVE A NICE LIFE" ) What The Heck"! I am confused who is the one who gave who bad service and lied to their customer? And the sad thing also about this Memo not once offered to try to earn my business back, did not offer nothing to me as compensation for all the troubles, as a loyal customer, but just his defense of justifying their poor and laziness of their service. I am sorry Memo and but you guys need some serious training on customer service on how to keep your customers happy and treat them with loyalty and respect, as you should know the Auto Shop industry is competitive as you guys are not the only Shop in town...And let's see if anyone gets back to me about this... read more
