I want here for the first time on Friday night with a friend and wanted to check it out. I heard great things and saw it written up in a local news publication. The vibe and decor with the giant painted murals on the wall were really cool, I liked the feel of the place, even for being in a strip mall in the suburbs. This food honestly wasn't that great. We shared some pastrami egg rolls, which were bizarre for eating at a Mexican restaurant. And I ordered a bowl with rice and protein, and it was kind of dry and average. The server read us from her book when asked questions about sauce, options, and things because she said she only worked there for two weeks. I don't think they did much training. read more

Love the overall vibes but the food and service fell flat on our visit. They have a both huge indoor and spacious outdoor seating areas. We made reservations for a Friday at 5 PM, but we were the only table there, aside from some people at the bar. We were seated immediately but didn't have a server come over for about 10 minutes. We stopped by on Thursday night. The outside has a patio with plenty of tables with umbrellas and the inside is huge with multiple booths and tables so it's great for groups! The staff we interacted with was pretty nice. The food we got was pretty solid and reasonably priced. The nachos are only $6 during trivia for a large portion. We really liked the Watermelon Dulces cocktail! The cali fries were good and so were all the tacos we got. The peach cobbler tres leches had more of a cake texture than a tres leches texture but it still tasted pretty good. read more

A group of four of us went to Doce for trivia night recently, and we had a blast. We started with the Cali fries, loaded nachos, and tacquitos, and they were all delicious. The sauce that came with the tacquitos was to die for. It was tangy and not overly spicy, and it paired perfectly with the ingredient blend in the tacquitos. We also tried the watermelon and horchata cocktails, and we loved them. The watermelon dulces cocktail was phenomenal; the rim was partially coated in tajin, which was the perfect balance of spice to go with the light sweetness of the watermelon. It's hard to pick just one favorite taco out of the variety we were served, but I am a chorizo girl through and through. The meat was so, so tender, and the spice blend was perfect. We also tried the potato taco, the fish taco, the chicken taco, and the Americano. All were phenomenal. We finished our visit with peach cobbler tres leches. This was something I normally wouldn't order, but it was so, so good and I'm glad we took the chance. The trivia was also a blast! Someone in your party will need to dedicate their phone to trivia and you'll all need to have fast fingers, but it's a great group activity! We ended up placing second. It was supposed to have salsa verde and did not. The meat seemed to have been cooked days ago. The chicken was no better. It tasted like mush. Had lunch with my son on a Friday afternoon. We were promptly greeted and seated by the hostess. Our waiter was kind, efficient, with the perfect level of attentiveness. Purchased tortilla chips and red salsa - chips were a bit stale and desperately needed salt. I went to add some salt, but there's no salt, pepper, napkins OR hot sauces available at the booths/tables. (NOTE: When the food arrived the waiter instinctively brought more napkins and asked if we desired hot sauce which he later brought). It's our opinion that the salsa was marginal at best. For tonight's dinner was the burrito with the chicken selection. It came out with a very nice bed of speciality lettuce,sour cream and guacamole. It was very tasty and i highly recommend as the cilantro was spot on tickling the taste buds. There was a nice beer selection and i picked Modelo. The issues i had were it was absolutely freezing in the establishment and i ate half of my dinner & ran because i was so cold. Great new spot! The inside has a great vibe to it and the outdoor area will be nice when the weather gets warm. My group started with the queso. We ended up going through 3 orders of it because it was so good. It is not watery like a lot of places queso. It also has a great flavor and the perfect amount of heat. For my meal I had the americano, pescado (fish), and potato tacos. I ordered all doce style and on flour tortillas. I love that you can mix and match tacos here and are not stuck with three of the same type like at so many places. All of the tacos were perfectly made and tasted incredible. They used the perfect amount of ingredients so none of the tacos were overloaded or soggy. The fish taco was probably my favorite, but all three were amazing. This is the third and newest location of Doce Taqueria and is located in Chartiers Valley Shopping Center. I had been excitedly waiting for them to open for many months, and today was the ribbon cutting and Grand Opening. After the ribbon was cut, I was one of the first people to be seated. I ordered two tacos, some slaw, and a Mexican Coke to drink. The server brought my Coke, and then I sat there for about an hour, when the server stopped to see if I needed anything, and apologized for the food taking so long. Now normally, I wouldn't give a bad review to a new business on opening day, but when people who arrived well after me were getting (and some finishing) their food before I even got mine, well, I had waited long enough. I waited for over an hour and a half and still had no food. I got hangry, left a tip and walked out ... First impression = NO CHEERS ... should I give them a second chance? P.S. Stopped in for a quick drink and app. The bartender was so attentive and social with us, which I love. She was just asking how our day was, checking on us, talking about specials they have, etc. she truly was selling the place. It was surprisingly empty for a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I loved their margaritas and they have a specialty cocktail- Watermelon Dulces that's was so good- reposado tequila, agave, and tajín. It's the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The Cali fries are insane --crispy shoestring fries tossed in Doce's signature seasoning, topped with steak, queso blanco, pickled jalapeños, cilantro, and cojita. It's a savory explosion in every bite. The smoked lemon pepper chicken wings are a must-try, perfectly cooked and paired with a spicy ranch that adds an extra kick. And they have a wing night as a daily special! The street corn is another standout, seasoned to perfection. The Birria Melt IS SO GOOD! A friend and I decided to try this new location on taco Tuesday last week. The sun was out so we decided to sit on the makeshift patio they have in the parking lot out front. They have several tables with umbrellas available that seat between 2-4. Our server was friendly and prompt, quick to explain any specials they had going, and willing to answer any menu questions that we had. We opted for the queso with chorizo and pickled red onion along with several tacos from the happy hour taco menu. My friend also ordered a side of the Spanish rice. We both had the Jarrito's margarita in the guava flavor. I do think the margarita was worth the $10 HH price, but I didn't think the queso was worth its price tag. The quality and taste was definitely there, but it was a very small portion compared to what you get at other restaurants. The chips were fresh, crunchy, and lightly salted. The tacos, on the other hand, were phenomenal. I went with a variety of 3 so I could try different meats. The carnitas was probably my favorite, though the chicken and chorizo each were also packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. I'm already drooling thinking about coming back! Stopped into Doce Taqueria on a recommendation and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The food is consistently great -- everything we've tried has been packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The chimichanga in particular was unreal and easily one of the best I've had in the area. Service is friendly and quick without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Prices are fair for the quality you're getting, which isn't always easy to find anymore. This has easily become one of our go-to spots in Bridgeville. Highly recommend. read more

The ambiance was very nice and setting was plenty. Our waitress was nice but she was still unfamiliar with the menu and had to repeat the order a few times. Not a huge deal though. We also ordered margaritas, which were pretty good. The food was a whole other story. We got Mexican street fries which came late due to connectivity issues... Again not a huge deal and they took it off the order, which was nice. The fries needed more meat but not bad. I got a birria sandwich special with Spanish rice. The sandwich was dry but flavorful but the Spanish rice was extremely disappointing. It was hard and seemed to be white rice with a little seasoning. I took one bite and left the rest. My sister got a pollo con chorizo. The chicken was good but everything else was not. Over all, not impressed. If they focused on the food more, this place would be a big hit. read more

The good thing about this place is the vibe and the layout. A few too many TVs for my taste, but overall it is nice. The black bean hummus appetizer was tasty. Really liked it. The cocktails were good and not overpriced. The service was OK. Not awful but also not necessarily fast and attentive. However, the main course was bad, at best. My chicken enchiladas were dry. And while I could taste heat, I couldn't taste any other flavor. My wife ordered two tacos. The potato taco tasted like frozen home fries which had been severely overcooked. The mushroom taco had no flavor at all. Even the side of Cole slaw was lacking any sort of vinegar or other flavor. They had jalapeños in it, but nothing else which would make it taste like anything besides raw cabbage. Because it is still a new restaurant, we'll give it another try in about six months, maybe by then they'll work out the kinks, or at least add some sort of flavor to their food. read more

Talk about worth the wait! This place is BANANAS! This is the best location to date. Busy as soon as they opened so that means it's definitely worth waiting. Grab a couple drinks while you hang out and enjoy all the TVs. The booths have personal tvs that you can change your own channel on -- killer for sports. The patio is great!!
