This place is great for such an unassuming location (you'll see when you get there!). We were there during happy hour for $5 house Margaritas (these are the small size) and some dinner. The margaritas were great, especially for the price! We ordered the queso, birria tacos, and the carne asada. The queso was better than expected, the birria was just the right amount of spicy and crispy, very good. The carne asada was also super tasty but I think it is the most expensive thing on the menu and I think I would order something else next time, not because it wasn't good but it was a little pricey. All said and done I think it's a very cool spot with good drinks and food that is probably a little over priced. The basic Margarita was spot on. The food was all very tasty. I ordered the fajita quesadilla to get in a few more veggies. The platter (not plate) it came out on was huge! So the portions are generous. I needed a container to take some home, and I was starving when I got there for a late dinner around 8 pm. Quite disappointed with the experience. I think this place is trying to position themselves as a bit more of an upscale Mexican restaurant, but the food quality isn't there at all. I ordered a very simple meal and left unsatisfied. I tried their Casa Quesadilla with chicken and a tres leches cake. Since this quesadilla was one of their house specials, I was pretty excited to give it a shot. But, it really wasn't good. There was very little cheese in the quesadilla and the chicken was both fatty and tasted like it had been cooked from a frozen grocery store pack. Super dry and virtually no flavor. The quesadilla came with a good portion of rice. The rice was okay but nothing special. Also quite dried out and the vegetables seemed to come from a can. Not much flavor here either. Finally, the tres leches. The tres leches was actually quite tasty and the only item I had that wasn't dry. Nice amount of whipped cream and soaked well. However, I'm nit even sure if they make these in house. They didn't remove the paper covering surrounding the cake when they put it in the takeout bag (so maybe they just got it from elsewhere). All in all, disappointed. Dry food and way too overpriced, even if portions are pretty solid. Not fresh. Rubbery chicken. Wouldn't come back. read more

A few friends and I went to this location for lunch / national margarita day. The margaritas were delicious and the chips and salsa was great. My birrair tacos were delicious aside from the flour tortillas being hard but I just ate the meat with the beans and rice. Our server was great and on top of our table, attending to the things we needed or had questions about. Dessert: I recommend the tres leche cake. Was a staple dessert in my household growing up. The reason for the 3 stars is my friend and I had our kids with us (toddler and a newborn) and there was nowhere to change our sons so we had to change them in the back of our car. This is something this location should probably consider investing in since people come with their families and not everyone is comfortable changing their children on the bathroom floor. There were a few people who had infants in the restaurant during our visit so I'm not sure if this is something they later found out as well. Unfortunately, I won't be back for awhile until my son is potty trained for this very reason. read more

The seasonings and flavor just didn't hit my expectations. Maybe if I had selected a different item, my experience might have improved. But even the Salsa was just ok. I felt like it was mostly tomato juice with some spices. There are a ton of amazing salsa recipes on line - so definitely opportunity for improvement. I ordered for pick-up, and my food was lukewarm warm, and I was there right at the recommended pick up time. Since it was a take out order, I can't speak to the ambience, but they left out utensils. Given that I was staying at a hotel, it meant I had to forage for disposable flatware from the front desk. Casual Mexican restaurant tucked away in the bottom of a large parking structure out near Robert Morris University. Went here on a Saturday for dinner and we had a nice time. Service was very friendly, attentive, and prompt. Prices were middle of the road and we got a generous helping of chips and salsa complimentary (with free refills if you want). They have a large seating area with some bigger tables for groups. They have a long cocktail list and my wife enjoyed a pretty cucumber margarita with a very tangy rim. The food itself was fine but not spectacular. I got a fajita taco salad (basically a taco salad with extra fajita toppings). It was good - lots of tasty chicken on the bottom and a nice flaky shell - but too much lettuce very light on the toppings such as tomato, corn, black beans, peppers, etc. My wife got the enchiladas mole platter. It was big and filling but there was way too much mole sauce, basically a thick brown lake that was too sweet and looked like it came out of a can. The rice was also very salty. read more

Stopped in here on a Thursday evening on a whim with a friend and we sat at the bar. The bartender approached us immediately and we ordered, 2 draft beers, a taco salad and the pollo asada enchilada. The vibe was pleasant and relaxing, and there was ample parking. The food was delicious and the sauce on the enchilada was a cheese sauce/queso that was very good. Two of us thought the chips could have used a bit more salt, but my dad was happy that there was almost no salt on them. Definitely a personal preference thing. The waiter was very friendly and service was fast. We went on a weekend for lunch, so the restaurant was almost completely empty, but some tables were blocked off to be safe for the pandemic restrictions and the staff we saw all had on masks at all times. My family had an excellent experience for our first time at Casa Amigos on 8/2/2025. They offer a small outdoor seating area which was great for us. We ordered various tacos, fajitas, and chicken tenders from the kids menu. All of the food was delicious, but we especially loved the carnitas tacos- very flavorful! While staying at a nearby hotel for business, I stopped in here one evening for a margarita. The first Margarita I got was made from sour mix and tasted very generic like that. I mentioned it to the lady serving me and working that bar and she told me about there Skinny Margarita which is made with freshly squeezed orange and lime, so I opted for that as a second round and it was amazing! I also tried their guacamole and it was outstanding! They even have a hot version of salsa, which tasted smokey and offered plenty of heat. Arrived for a late lunch on a Tuesday. I wasn't very hungry by any means but hubby was. The restaurant was empty so I was a bit unsure about it. After being seated right away. The chips and salsa and waters were served almost immediately. I ordered guacamole. And I must say I could have had a meal just on that! It was perfectly seasoned and one of the best I've had. The shrimp entree I had was, without question, amazing! It wasn't overwhelmed with a heavy sauce. It tasted fresh and could tell the cook took care to make it. Not just slopped on plate like other Mexican restaurants. Hubby had a combination of burrito and enchilada. He really enjoyed every bite. Ordered takeaway from here, for the first time, via DoorDash. Hubby and I ordered the vegetarian fajitas and the 3 combo with the burrito, chimichanga, and enchilada. Order came out to around $30. What's Hot - Came with complimentary chips and salsa. Hubby and I appreciated the fact that the complimentary chips and salsa were included in a takeaway order. Not many restaurants include their complimentary items in takeaway orders, so that they make this effort is appreciated. Additionally, their salsa is pretty delish. It had a light spicy kick, which we liked, especially because we're into spicy food. - Food arrived warm. To be fair, this was also because of the DoorDash driver. However, it's fair to assume that the food was prepared pretty soon after they received our order. Pretty good service. - Quality. Pretty well-seasoned and yummy. My veggie fajitas had veggie juices on the bottom of the container, which was nice. Based on the texture of my veggies, they didn't taste like they were previously frozen, but I'm not certain. - Menu variety. There's something for everyone- meat, seafood, and vegetarians. I really enjoyed that my vegetarian fajitas has a nice variety of vegetables- mushrooms, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, onions, and bell peppers. The veggies were also nicely seasoned and flavored. - Price. My veggie fajitas is $15 and the 3 combo is $14.50. Pretty reasonable given the portions and quality. Hubby and I were full after dinner, but not stuffed. A full dinner for 2 for $30 is pretty reasonably priced. What's Not - No dessert section. To be fair, this is a minor issue, but hubby and I love our sweet treats. It would have been nice to see flan, horchata, or some other dessert options. - Takeaway containers. To be fair, the takeaway container lids were clear plastic, which allowed us to see what order was what. However, it would've been helpful for the containers to be labeled accordingly, especially because each order was split up in different containers. Additionally, there was some food spillage, because the bottom of the paper takeaway bag was wet (from the salsa and the other wet ingredients, like sauces, from the food). - Quality. Hubby's combo was weird. He was given an option of 3 proteins, so he chose chicken, cheese, and beans. The burrito had chicken, but it was difficult to tell how the other 2 options were filled. Their menu description isn't clear, but that could also be partly due to the DoorDash app. Additionally, each piece of the combo was small and not well-filled. Final Answer Good food and service. My coworkers and I came here Friday at happy hour and we had just excellent service! House margaritas are only $5 at 5-7pm and $1 off some beers. All of us had the margaritas and they were delicious with just the right amount of tequila for a buzz! Several of us ordered the shrimp fajitas (lent season) and they were very tasty - and filling. The service is just right and they always seem to make sure you don't run out of drinks. We had such a great time, the environment is really ideal for a Friday night- not too loud or quiet.
