Thought I'd give an update on my recent Lyme diagnosis. The night this picture was taken (which I see hearts, a rainbow and Jesus face) I was informed I had Lyme. My husband said look up at that rainbow...and the rest is history with this beautiful masterpiece - with all credits being given to our precious Heavenly Father. On 8/18 of this year my doctor informed me I had Lyme. So, Dr Tam McDonald gave me her protocol and I started the journey to healing my body once again. Mind you I have been with her for over 4 years. When I first went to her I was a mess. She discovered I had mold toxicity, Candida overgrowth, leaky gut, histamine issues and much much more. Their office called us on the wrong day saying we missed the appointment and left a voicemail to reschedule... reschedule what? It's the wrong day. We attempted to call back over 5 times to clear it up, but voicemail box is always full and no one answered. We were charged for TWO months with ZERO call backs, zero service, and zero virtual communication as they failed to set up her Spruce account. We stated this in writing and requested a refund several times and were denied a refund from Shane McDonald, the owner along with Dr. Tam. I went in a very healthy person trying to stay healthy or become healthier. I was put on so many pills and had so many chemicals put in to my body that I left a person that felt like they were slowly dying. My body was under such stress from all of the things given to "help me" that I was given auto immune diseases because my body could not figure out what was going on. Within the first two months of stopping everything that they had me doing I felt like a million bucks again. What they were doing to me was killing me, all of that to get money and endure bad customer experience; under the guise that they actually cared. They proved to me at the end of me leaving that I didn't matter, my health didn't matter, and that the entire time I had been utilized for $. I have horror story after horror story and unfortunately there was no one there to help . The two owners are husband and wife so when things go bad, there is no one to turn to for help. BEWARE. Wow! I've been with docere for a few years now and have been amazed with Dr. Tam, Shane, and their crew. Dr. Tam and Wendy have helped talked me through horrible panic attacks and have taught me so much while we're at it. Dr. Tam helps me with my white coat syndrome by allowing me to come in when it's more quiet, she will get all staff to come fan me when I come give blood. Id like to say they spoil me. Once I was awaiting some test results and I asked Dr. Tam to call me and she really did! Like right then and there called me, talked me through my panic and crying, they had me come in for IV vitamin C- which Miraculously, my x ray was completely clear 2 days later at hospital. i could go on and on, but I'll just let you know, I trust Dr. Tam and Shane to the moon and back. If you have several concerns about your health, all your concerns will be addressed, no "one or two concerns and you have to make another appointment to address any other concerns." They don't accept insurance, but their cost is reasonable. I highly recommend Docere's. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Tam for about 1.5 years. We have worked together on several different therapies to address my chronic fatigue. I've definitely made some progress but continue to have to tweak my wellness plan as the seasons of my body changes. Dr. Tam is warm, friendly and creates a family atmosphere in the clinic. So does Bailey, the therapy dog that greets everyone. This is a membership fee-based practice that does not take insurance. While I understand somewhat how this grants them independence and the ability to give quality of care, I REALLY wish my insurance was taken. Both because of the additional cost when I already have good insurance I could use elsewhere, as well as the time-consuming nature of having to sometimes deal with submitting claims for blood work, etc. Also, the membership fee does not cover all the many therapies offered, several come with an additional charge. I wish there were a way to include a capped amount of those other therapies into the membership cost so that a patient could at least be exposed to the benefits. For example, including 3 massages per year, 3 hyperbaric sessions, etc. As different strains of covid started to ramp up towards the end of 2020, I found myself not making any appointments for a few months and leaving the house very little (I work from home). When I finally went back in January 2021, I noticed several staffing changes, as well as the administration of one of the therapies I came to do had changed. Maybe I'm unaware of it and not signed up, but sending out a monthly newsletter of Docere happenings would be beneficial to keep patients informed. My final piece of feedback for Docere, and hopefully you are working on this, is creating the ability for patients to book their own appointments online. Many times my experience has been either (1) I'm at the office and it's so busy and hectic at the front desk that I need to leave before making my next appointments or (2) I happen to call on the 2 days they are closed. Overall, I see areas for Docere to be an even more affordable, patient-centric practice and at the same time I feel deeply grateful that I am able to receive good naturopathic care within my locality. read more

BEWARE. I called to cancel over the phone and the guy told me I couldn't that I had to come in to sign something. I drove an hour to get there only to be told my membership was already cancelled. Wtf! Seriously?! I spoke with the owners and they wouldn't let me use the machine one last time even though I never cancelled. They have no clue what is going on here, can't keep their information straight. They told me I could put my membership on hold when I was out of town when I signed up, then changed their mind and told me I couldn't do it. They never did an intake with me, and just blew me off as a patient. They just tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign up, and they don't follow through at all. I am SO glad the folks at Docere came into my life!! I've never really had good experiences with doctors, until I met the Docere crew :-) First off, everyone there is SO nice, they all make you feel like family. Secondly, they are SMART, and they CARE, enough to take the time to figure out what exactly is going on with you and FIX IT! I had been experiencing SO many symptoms over the last 4 years or so (IBS, bloating, acne, weight gain, anxiety, depression, OCD, Paranoia), I'd seen specialists, doctors, chiropractors and therapists Elsewhere and none of them could tell me what was going on, they all wanted to prescribe me pharmaceutical drugs, and told me "Well, you're getting older" (I was 26-29 years old at the time). Tam and Michelle at Docere sat me down and asked me about everything I was going through and what I wanted to fix. They genuinely listened. They had an idea of what was causing my symptoms then and there, a blood test proved it correct and from there I began the "Road to Recovery" I feel better than I have in Years!!! I was afraid that I'd have to live the rest of my life the way that I was, and now I don't, thanks to Docere :-) and that wasn't all. I had a chest pain recently, it hurt bad enough that I almost went in to an Urgent Care, but thought I'd try to see Dr Tam first and see what she thought, they were able to squeeze me in That day(!) I told her what was going on and she told me that I had likely popped a rib out of place and it was pinching a nerve and causing the chest pain. What!? I had no idea that could happen! So she gave me an adjustment to pop it back, and sure enough my chest immediately felt better, and it has continued to feel better every day since I left there. When I'd gone to see other doctors in the past, they almost never had an exact answer for what was going on with me, they had a dozen ideas and if I wanted to pay them thousands of dollars we MIGHT be able to figure it out.
