I was pretty excited to discover that my insurance covers acupuncture so when I still had weeks until I could get in with my regular doctor and horrible pain that was starting to affect my life on a daily basis, I found Rejuve and Courtney. I started coming here a year ago with a terrible knot in my back. Courtney monitored how my body was reacting to certain treatments and adjusted as necessary. I started at once a week and am at once every two weeks now. I've still got some back tension but things are significantly better than when I first came. I have been going to Cindy for over two years now, first at Ascension Wellness (a very cool spa also in Des Moines), and now at Cindy's own space. Cindy is stellar. She knows her stuff, this woman! She's an LAc + herbalist. I have marked a steady improvement with constitutional health as well as some funky aches & pains that sometimes rear their heads. I am getting better results with treating my left shoulder with acupuncture. An additional wonderful plus - I have been experiencing some pretty intense... power surges. Ok, hot flashes. Night sweats, too. So not fun. Cindy to the rescue! I've gone from having around 5 hearty hot flashes (complete with a very red and sweaty face) per day down to 2 mild ones. I've even had to miss some days of herbs due to last minute travel where I haven't been able to get them into my travel bag, and I'm still only experiencing 2 mild hot flashes, and pretty much no night sweats. I can not recommend this clinic enough! I went to see Courtney Zeller after my best friend recommended this clinic because he knew I was at a low point in my health. I was impressed with her expertise and medical competency from the very start. She was so thorough and caring about my initial consultation and took her time to walk through all of the health issues I wanted to see addressed. I feel that I had reached the lowest point of my ovreall health ever and I am only 33. I had a car accident followed by and slip and fall that resulted in several herniated disks in my lower back and I have been dealing with having been diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my right wrist just a few months prior to my fall. After spending time in the ER several times and various specialists MRI etc etc and starting physical therapy for my back I was ready to add additional angles and different methods to my medical care. Let me tell you I have had 12 accupuncture sessions now and the pain in my right wrist has decreased dramatically. Even though I was surgery bound now after my recent visit with the specialist and doing the nerve conduction test the doctors are thinking I may not need the surgery any longer and are trying physical therapy for my wrist instead. I was actually asked if I had tried accupuncture by the orthopedic clinic which is showing me that the general medical community is catching on to the potential health benefits of accupuncture. On the days Courtney treats my lower back injury are the only days I will get sleep. I am excited for accupuncture now everytime because I know those are the only nights I can actually sleep better. Courtney is amazing at her job she has a really good perspective on medicine and the human overall health in general. She knows so much about nutrition and diet and supplements she is a wealth of information and does not try to push things on you but will simply answer your health questions. OK call me snobby but I am quite confident that I can tell a good acupuncturist from a mediocore one (I grew up seeing acupuncturists in CA and China). Since moving to Seattle I tried a few acupuncturists but quite disapointingly, I didnt find one who is as knowledgeable and effective as those acupuncturists I grew up seeing-- until I found Cindy last year. I went to see Cindy for shoulder pains and sleeping problems, and she impressed me as soon as she started diagnosing during my first visit. After taking my pulse she drew a pulse chart and used it to explain where my pulse pattern differs from a healthy pulse pattern and what the differences imply about my system. Last time I had an acupuncturist that explains things so well was in China! And I knew that I have found a good acupuncturist when she started putting needles on. Unlike some acupuncturists who have hard time locating acupuncture points and those who put needles to the wrong depth, Cindy finds my acupuncture points in a breeze and every needle is RIGHT ON! (You know what I mean if you too are an acupuncture snob :) Bottom line is, my shoulder pain had gotten so much better, and I wake up in the middle of the night only once in a while now (used to be every night). If you expect effective treatments no less, I'd recommend seeing Cindy. And if youre a bit picky (like me) and expect your acupuncturist to explain in detail so you really understand what is going on with your body instead of getting confused with all the jargons, go see Cindy. My only gripe is Cindy's Des Moines location. I live in Issaquah so every visit takes a long drive. If you are from East side, definitely avoid rush hours. read more

Cindy is great! I've been going to Cindy for over 10 years now and I feel like I get the best results with her compared to other acupuncturist I've been to in the past. I am very active and have my fair shares of aches and pains and Cindy has always been able to quickly resolve any problem I present her, including neck pain, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, sciatica, and menopause issues I had. Cindy has a gift of really finding the right "spot" just by feeling the muscles without me having to tell her where it is! About 5 years ago I retired and moved to a different state but come back to Seattle yearly to visit my son. I was having really bad knee pain last year that got slightly better but just won't resolve while I was in Arizona seeing a different acupuncturist for 6 months. I was coming to Seattle for a month and thought of Cindy and decided to make appointments with her for the month that I was here. Cindy took away the knee pain on the very first visit! I was so amazed! But I either hike or play golf or tennis for about 5 hours a day 5 days a week, so of course my knee pain came back, but with Cindy's treatments for one month my knee has never felt better! I've been going to Cindy for the past couple weeks now for severe anxiety and insomnia. I used to be a big believer in pill poppin' and trusting whatever the doctor gave me regardless if I couldn't even pronounce what the name of the medicine was or what it was exactly doing for me. But after having a bit of an eye opener and falling ill after having a bad reaction to drugs, I decided to try more holistic ways of taking care of myself. Luckily, CINDY TO THE RESCUE!!! The intake form was thorough, and she sent it to me via email a couple nights before so I could print it out and have it ready to hand to her on the day of my appointment. She was very precise and although it being the first time I had acupuncture, I felt very comfortable to be in Cindy's hands, to the point that I didn't even realize she was already inserting the needles. I was amazed at how quick and discreet she was. Within the next couple weeks, my anxiety had become exceedingly manageable, and I'm now able to sleep through the night! How amazing is that?! We've just recently decreased my visits from two times a week to once a week, while taking the herbs for the next couple months. Cindy is amazing at what she does. I used all of my insurance visits and wish I had the option to buy an out of pocket pack of visits to continue my maintenance. Cindy is AMAZING!!!!! I don't know what I would do without her. I have been seeing Cindy for 3 months now after being diagnosed with liver tumors. I had a resection last year, and after the surgery I experienced inflammation in my joints (reactive arthritis) I was in so much pain, significant stiffness, and after being prescribed many pills that were not good for my liver, nor did an adequate job, I decided to go with a more natural approach. Courtney provided me with 12 acupuncture appointments (as many as my insurance allowed), primarily for my anxiety, but also for rosacea and the occasional sinus issue. The office is located in a cute and quiet Des Moines neighborhood. Street parking only but there is plenty. The office is very cozy and relaxing. I had never gotten acupuncture prior to these visits, and Courtney made me feel so comfortable and educated on the acupuncture process. She makes sure to always ask how you're doing at every appointment, and shapes your appointment to how you're feeling or how your symptoms are that day. I never had a problem with scheduling or making payments. I unfortunately ran out of visits through insurance, but every week I was so eager for my acupuncture appointments - they were so calming and I really felt a difference in all my symptoms. I hate needles, so I was very skeptical about visiting an acupuncturist to ease my back pain. But so many people recommended acupuncture that I decided to give it a try. I told Cindy that I didn't like needles, so she explained the process to me and said she would start off light. It didn't hurt at all and I felt magnificent after the first visit! So I continued going for treatments, and after two weeks of seeing Cindy, my back aches were immensely reduced and I was able to function again. I didn't have to take any more pain killers. About a year later, we were trying to have a baby for several months, and after I told Cindy we were trying, she said acupuncture could help. I got pregnant after one month of therapy! I also saw her while I was pregnant to ease my back pains as the baby grew and pushed on my spine, and throughout it all she kept me in great health. Cindy is the best hands down. Not all acupuncturists are created equal! If you have never tried acupuncture, or if you have, and not had good results - you owe it to yourself to go to Cindy. I have been going to her for over a year. I was in a LOT of pain with sciatica and had tried traditional treatments including shots, physical therapy and chiropractic and nothing worked. I turned to acupuncture as a last resort and Cindy made the sciatic pain go completely away. I now go mainly for maintenance so the problem doesn't return, and I'm now also having her treat my arthritic knees and they are doing much better too! You need to be patient and go as often as she recommends to fix your problem - it's not an overnight solution. But it sure beats having surgery or taking drugs the rest of your life. She is also an herbalist and can recommend natural herbs/vitamins for a variety of "ailments" or as preventative measures. I can't recommend her enough! read more
