I loved this place got to visit it on a family vacation! I got a white mocha and it's delicious not too bitter, not too sweet. Very smooth espresso calls for great coffee. A little pricey but $5 for a 20 oz coffee is definitely worth the price. The inside is rather small but perfect to grab a coffee and venture the adorable town. I'd be a regular if I lived here! I am so happy the owner agreed with me when she wrote, "Even an almost finished latte doesn't look like the picture you took." It is definitely not a picture of my husband's coffee as the owner accused me of when she wrote, "It's the picture of your husband's drip coffee." I wrote the review because she added insult to injury when she accused me of doing something I had not done afterI told her there was not enough oat milk in the latte. Her staff who made the coffee doesn't know how to make a latte and instead of owning it, she accused me of something I have NEVER done. She wanted to charge me for additional oat milk and I told her I would pay it, even after I initially paid for oat milk and as you can see, I was given very little oat milk. The owner has an inability to own her staff's lack of training in making a latte. Keep reading the reviews below. Was just at the Dock Square Coffee House and while I typically abide by the "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" rule, this experience needs to be shared. Holding empty cups of coffee from Mornings in Paris just down the street, my wife and I were headed for a final cup before the shops closed. We chose the Coffee House because we'd hadn't been there yet. There is a candy shop next door and my wife was taking a phone call, so I sent her ahead to the coffee house where they had a small table out front, so she could set our bags down while I grabbed candy. I walked up, candy in hand, as she was picking up her bags, and the employee came out because she was closing up. Rather than invite us in, she immediately said, "this table is for Coffee House customers only, so move along." Funny... we'd intended to be just that, but now you literally couldn't pay me to get a cup of coffee there. In a world full of choices, the best one is to choose to be kind.. oh and also choose the coffee at Mornings in Paris. read more

As other reviews have mentioned the woman behind the counter is extremely rude. My husband, young daughter and I stopped by for a lemonade one afternoon. My daughter likes her lemonades with lots of ice, so we asked the woman serving us if we could have extra ice. Instead of offering to charge us more for it (which we would've happily paid for) she aggressively said "no I can't give you extra ice I have to pay for that you know." Her tone was so rude and her overall attitude was so off putting! I don't know how you run a business treating your customers like this. Luckily we had a delicious lunch at the clam shack next door and they gave us a cup of ice no problem. Skip this place and all the nastiness that comes with it. read more

Especially when they are rude to kids and their ego comes in the way and think they know better than their customers what is etiquette and what is not ....! Pastries were good, latte was descent, place appeared clean but the customer service was really lacking. I had a great time in Kennebunkport during the last week in July but this was the only place where my family and I didn't feel welcomed at all. I got the sense the worker or perhaps manager was annoyed. Maybe the blond lady was having a bad day but even so, one should always display descent customer service at best to all their customers. Reliably good coffee at a fair price. This has tended to be my go-to morning cup of joe when staying at the Boathouse. They tend to have a couple of roasts available in hot coffee, along with all the fancy drinks that you often see in shops like this. There's also a handful of pastries in the front display when you've walked in. Often, you'll see a small plate on the counter with small bites of something they're offering as samples. The staff is super friendly. I've always taken my coffee to go, but there are a limited number of tables in the back if you want to hang out. They also sell bags of coffee beans for some of the Portland-area roasters that they use. I've picked up those in the past for both personal use and gifts. If you're looking for gifts for a coffee lover, this could be a good spot to add to your travels. read more

Just stopped in for an iced latte and was super excited to see they had oat milk and tons of syrup flavors like hazelnut, lavender, peach, vanilla... I ordered an iced oat milk hazelnut latte and it was SUPER yummy. It had the perfect amount of ice and it was creamy but not too creamy so you could still taste a strong espresso flavor. They were also super friendly and the shop smelled great. Highly recommend. read more

Dock Square Coffee House is an adorable little shop that literally sits on the dock in Kennebunkport center. With a nice selection of Numi teas and coffee options, it's a great spot for your morning pick-me-up. With limited seating and an exceptionally small floor plan, this isn't the kind of place to hang out all day with your 'puter to work, but it's perfect to pop into, get your beverage and perhaps a pastry, although the selection is slim - I get the feeling they don't want to be wasteful. There are a few benches outside, so you can plop yourself down and watch the world go by. The baristas are friendly and speedy, and the joint is clean and cute. I liked this place so much, I came here each morning I was in Kennebunkport to start my day. They didn't even charge me extra for the additional bag or tea - sweet! read more

It was an average coffee house experience. Would I say the next time I'm in the area ooohh I can't wait to go back ? Not likely. The staff was average. The coffee was ok. Cost two 24 oz mocha iced coffees 11 dollars. 13 including tip. Was it worth it . Nope being an average coffee shop in that location it will be just fine. read more

Cool location. I have never been a fan of Coffee By Design roasters. And they don't make espresso drinks in proper proportions.
