It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy a meal here. Our 3 young children were very comfortable here as well. We ordered the Meatza pizza and the chicken tenders with fries. The pizza had great flavor and plenty of toppings. The chicken tenders had a very light breading, which we enjoyed. The fries were freshly made and very tasty. We also tried the cider sangria, which was a nice and fruity, summery drink. The downside was the service. There should be a better system for seating guests. One hostess was taking reservation information and seating people. This took a while on a busy Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was also a bit slow and needed several reminders to bring items such as lids for water and ranch for the chicken tenders. I kept hearing about this location for the ambiance and the drinks so we decided to give it a shot. Upon looking up the reviews, it appeared to be a good spot. PARKING- There is a good amount of parking near the brewery. There is a good size parking lot in front as well as some street parking nearby. SERVICE - The service we had was good but not great. Our waitress was very friendly but extremely slow. She took our orders but each drink took at least 10 minutes to get and she never cleaned off our table so we had a mountain of plates and empty glasses. MENU - The menu has a great selection of appetizers and some options for dinners. It had an excellent selection of beers (rightfully so) and a good selection of other liquors/mixed drinks. This place is a place you should order a bunch of different appetizers to split among the group. The waitress recommended some while others we just ordered as they sounded good. FOOD/DRINKS - For drinks, we ordered a Tito's Lemonade, Aperol Spritz, kiss & tell, "Fredo" beer, Feelin Juicy beer, Mango White Claw (ain't no laws!), and a flight (Califragilstic, Milford Ryezing, Squooshy, & Overly Jettisoned). The drinks were very good overall. The only bad drink we had was the seltzer that the brewery makes (Grapefruit flavored one) which was horrible. For appetizers/dinner, we ordered the 6 Blue Point Oysters, Philly Eggrolls, Popcorn Rock Shrimp, Fried Mozzarella, & the Mango Habanero Pizza. The Oysters were honestly some of the nastiest Oysters I have ever had. They tasted salty and old. I have never had bad Blue Point Oysters in my life until tonight. Our table of 4 was barely able to eat the 6 of them. However, the other food was good but not great. The Eggrolls lacked the sauce and the fried mozz was average. The popcorn shrimp and pizza were the highlights. PRICES - The prices were good for what we got. The bill with the tip was $175 which isn't bad in my opinion. OVERALL - The service was slow but good and the food was average. The only reason I would return would be for the ambiance of the place. read more

We had lunch here on Aug 1st @ noon. When we walked in, we were told to sit anywhere. We chose a table pretty far away from the bar where there were maybe 4 people, and then 2 couples outside under the awning, where the view is amazing. Really loud music - I'm not deaf - but otherwise very relaxed ambiance. I had hip replacement surgery the day before so we chose the only upholstered bench in the whole place (it was maybe 8 or 10 ft long) soft enough for me to sit on for 20-30 minutes. Now at this point there's still no customers inside, only the 4 people outside. Halfway through our meal, a party of SIX people was brought over to this same bench and sat down right next to us about 2 feet away from me. There were dozens of other open tables. I asked the server for a doggie bag because I can't enjoy a meal with someone sitting on my lap. And two minutes later, another couple was brought over to sit down on my other side again 2 feet away. Now I know that patrons are clumped together because it makes it easier on the servers. Apparently, that's much more important than the people who come in to eat and spend a lot of money to do so. The servers don't want to walk around so much - they would rather make the customers uncomfortable. You know those pesky customers who pay a lot of money, the money that keeps your doors open. We were told to sit anywhere because there were no other customers. But then, any new customers were brought over to the bench where we sat. As far as the food goes, we ordered the flatbread sandwiches with homemade meatballs (I can't remember their name) and the spicey fries (delicious) and the fried mozzarella sticks - absolutely no complaints about the food choices. But that really doesn't matter when the customers are so unimportant. read more

Today was my first time going to this Brewery. We were seated with a nice view on the heated patio. The waitress was extremely nice and very attentive. My friend and I ordered chips & salsa which was very fresh. Our drinks were so good, I would have ordered another Margherita if it weren't 12 in the afternoon. The pizza was just phenomenal. I would have never expected a brewery to make pizza that good! Another good thing about this Brewery/restaurant is they get your food to you in a reasonable timing and everything was affordable. We've been here a few times and haven't had any issues. The staff has been friendly, service has been quick and the food has been decent. Nothing rave-worthy, but overall pretty good. The food was good and the view was great. We got flights and the beer was okay. The problem we had is the amount of Trump supporters dining at this establishment. Cars in the lot with billowing flags, and just packs of people with Trump clothing. I don't know that much can be done about that when we're talking about restaurants. I don't know if it's against the law or not to deny someone service because of their political beliefs. But I saw Hispanic staff members, saw Hispanic and Black guests, and me and my friends (a mixture of Hispanic, Jewish, and queer) were immediately uncomfortable. Now, we chose to stay. We drove from NYC to get out of the city and this place looked nice and we didn't know where else to go. So yes, we did stay, and that's on us. But for millions of people in this country, and I'm sure quite a few in this small Connecticut town, people who would so brazenly and proudly support a man whose rhetoric puts so many of us at actual risk . . . It would be a comfort to think that they wouldn't be comfortable clustering together at this, or any, establishment. read more

Has all of that going for it, but they cannot serve or coordinate meals to all come out at the same time to save themselves. I can live with a slow kitchen, especially when the vibe and drinks are great. But poor wait staff and an inability to coordinate meals to come out together is a deal breaker for me. "The kitchen is really backed-up" is fine when explaining delays, but not coordinating of meals. Table service was slow and inattentive at times. read more

My fiancé and I just move to the area , we noticed this restaurant from the highway. We decided to go for lunch. Upon arrival we was greeted by a very nice gentle man, who directed us to a nice young lady who greeted by saying "Hello friends" which felt welcoming. Long story short we were seated, food was great, ambiance was very nice .Service was ok but the waitress wont say her name and bar worker (young lady) should be mindful of conversation that they have about the Patrons of different descent ,referring to a young couple as "Peeps" Waitress says Oh there's your "peeps " to the bar host and believing that they were going to ditch there bill, which didn't happen and noticed a $10 tip was given. I had high expectations going here only because every time I drive past this place there always seems to be a lot of people. The back area is huge and has a great view(minus the shopping center across the water). The parking lot was also huge but unfortunately there were so many people that the parking lot and adjacent street were full so I had to park all the way down the street. My friends and I made reservations for a table just in case it was too crowded and we wouldn't be able to get one. We got there and had to wait about 15 min for our table which was no big deal because we were able to sit in the bar area and grab a drink in the mean time. We each decided to grab a beer that they make. They were all delicious. Don't really have a bad thing to say about them. My friends and I also decided to try the drinks they offer on tap. Again, all delicious. I'm happy they offer other options besides beer. They have wine, spiked seltzers, beer and drinks on tap for anyone curious. The food itself was also good. I would say the shared plates are not as great as the meals themselves. We got the pretzel bites and the philly egg rolls. They were good but not great. For our main meals we got the mango habanero pizza, lobster cob bowl and the steak fajita bowl. All of them were great. They gave a decent amount of lobster with the bowl and I can't say enough good things about the pizza and steak fajita bowl. Super cool atmosphere here, it's a vibe. The layout is great and the views you have along the water can't be beat. The igloos that they set up during COVID were incredible too and the themes in each took it to the next level. On the fun scale it knocks it out of the park, as evidenced by it always being full (reservations recommended). The food will do the job but it isn't what you come here for which is what cost the final star in my book, but I think they'll be doing fine without it :) read more

I have been to Dockside Brewery 3 times. All three times the food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Today I went, and my tab was $15.57. Do you have a way to save $20 bill. She gave me four dollars in change. Which meant that she really owes me $.43 more. When I asked her, she told me that the restaurant rounds up the number. The fact that she didn't tell us about that policy, and the fact that I had to ask, really disturbed me. It's not the $.43, it's the principle. They arbitrarily we're going to just keep the $.43. Is that what restaurants are doing these days because of a coin shortage? The waitress actually had to go scrounging to get me the change at the bar. Doesn't the restaurant realize that this is not the way to do business with a paying customer? I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Again, the food and service are excellent at this restaurant, and I will continue to go back, but I will check my change when it's received. Cha Ching! read more

Waiting over 1 hour for a reservation table. Poor service from hostesses. Dirty tables not being cleared. Is a manager on staff? We were told there is a 90 minute limit per table to eat and pay the check. This was not the case. Limited cocktail selection. Food was ok, do not get crab cake it does not taste house made and is mushy, not much crab. The lobster Cobb was good nice portion of lobster. Pizzas were good. I just can't get over the lack of service. Our server never came by to check on us after the food was delivered. read more
