As we waited for food I asked for a cup for water which they seemed surprised by. Upon getting my water another customer was annoyed since they apparently also asked for water and it wasn't clear who the water was for. The staff seems annoyed by both of us. When the food came, it was bland at best. My hot honey chicken waffle looked like no effort was take. The waffle looked like it was warmed up in a toaster. The chicken wasn't much better. I suspect it was a restaurant demo meal that they just warm up. The hot honey...none. Just a generic breakfast syrup. I asked if they had hot honey but the staff looked confused by the question. Apparently they haven't had hot honey for weeks yet they still had it on the menu. I had to settle for a hot sauce that they probably use on chicken wings...which also wasn't that great. Bad ambiance. Bad customer service. Terrible food. Of the places to eat o n the island, this is easily my least favorite.

Butter already sitting on the table before you're seated, yet the bread arrives in a bag. Dirty plates and unused wine glasses left sitting on the table. Nothing about the experience felt remotely five-star--other than the price of the prix fixe menu. $148 for three courses, which I'd value at maybe $89 at any decent restaurant. The first course was grilled artichoke and lemon risotto. Small portion, buried under microgreens, and extremely heavy on the lemon. The first few bites felt like eating lemon-flavored grass. Eventually my taste buds went numb enough to push through it. The halibut was cooked properly, but was covered in a combination of sauces that simply didn't work for me--hummus, chili oil, and some other questionable flavor combination. Dessert was a key lime pudding with baby coconut and a cinnamon Pirouline cookie. Fine, but nothing memorable. Overall, an incredibly underwhelming dinner for the price. The food didn't justify the cost, and the service and attention to detail certainly didn't create a five-star experience. My favorite part of the evening was the entrance decor--and walking out knowing I won't ever have to come back.

The food at Dockside Diner is absolutely delicious -- truly one of the best breakfast/lunch spots on LBI. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and came out perfectly cooked. You can tell they put real care into the food. The only downside? The staff wasn't the friendliest during our visit. Not rude, just not very warm or welcoming. It didn't ruin the experience, but it definitely stood out. Still, the quality of the food alone makes it worth the stop. If you're on LBI and want a great meal, Dockside Diner won't disappoint. read more

Avocado Toast, Huevos Rancheros, omelettes and pancakes are just a few of the items we have sampled here over the years. The consistency is always there and the staff is incredibly friendly. Sara, is the name of the manager of dockside diner. One of the worst brunch's I have eaten. The amount of ants crawling at the table was absurd. I asked multiple times to move tables and the manager Sara basically informed us to suck it up. Awful day with my family. read more
