When I pulled up into the parking lot and noticed the plethora of signs on the door advising of all the rules in an unfriendly, unwelcoming manner, I should have anticipated the rest of my visit. But I went in anyway. Immediately upon arrival, you're greeted with an abrupt request to see ID. Sure, no problem. But if you're not familiar with the store, you don't know where that demanding voice is coming from. The cashier sits at an elevated counter, mostly hidden from view. He doesn't smile. Ever. The store is dimly lit, and the costume area had so many burnt out lightbulbs that I actually wondered if it was part of the store or overflow storage. It is part of the store-just not well maintained. At all. Everything is on display behind locking devices so you can't look at the back of a box or read anything about the products you are considering. While Dr. John's may be one of the oldest adult stores in town, I don't see it lasting much longer the way it's going. You'd be better off visiting Blue Boutique. read more

They have weird signs on the doors baring you from having a purse or Fanny pack in the building which is super weird but they go wayyyyyyyyyy farther when you walk in and tell you what items you're allowed to keep in your pockets. A phone and car keys only which is ironic when they then ask for your ID but don't allow you to carry it in the store. So put your sunglasses, wallet, anything else beside those 2 things outside. I was like are you serious I need to leave my wallet outside and they said yes. Literally so weird and sketchy like what is that. Honestly just close down already if your not willing or are too cheap to get security or security cameras so that people can shop here normally without your front desk people having to be nasty and weird to customers as they walk in. I have never once walked into a business until now and had them tell me to leave my wallet in my car like what kind of business is this? Do not recommend Went here to get games for a bachelorette party. Between the door security, the aggressive ID check at the door, being told to leave my (wallet) purse in my car, and the fingerprint copy on the receipt.... I don't think I have ever felt so sketched out by a store. Plus their selection was not good for such a large store. Most of the inventory was clothing for strippers or drag. At fort l first I saw basic silicon toys marked for 60-80 bucks and thought, "maybe they are just higher quality brands or something". So I checked online. NOPE! Creepiest Adult store I've been too, the vibe felt off. Walked in and it felt strange from the beginning. This store treats their customers like criminals. One, they require an ID to walk in the door, which is fine. When you do actually purchase you have to give them your drivers license, again, and they make you put your thumb print on the receipt. I feel like they are more likely to rip me off. Also, their prices are double what I am used to, and their staff isn't super friendly. I won't go back. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I was really impressed with the customer service I received today. I came in to buy a toy. I honestly had no idea what I wanted and really had little knowledge on any of these products. The girl working this morning was sweet, knowledgeable and so helpful in finding the best fit for me, personally. I thought it was a little strange that she put batteries in the toy to test it........ Until she told me why. The store has a no return policy, and she wanted to be 100% certain that the item I bought worked before sending it out the door with me. And honestly, I understand why they wouldn't accept returns! So my gf and I decided to go to Dr. John's Lingerie store and about 10 minutes I had to go to the bathroom. I went to go looking for the bathroom and the door was lock so I ask the girl who was working there around 10 or 11 at night (dark short hair, dark skin and two nose rings) and she said we don't have public bathrooms. So I was like okay can I pay for something here and then use the bathroom? She still said no. That was the last straw that broke the camels back and I was upset for the whole time we where there. She didn't even ask if we needed help, ask how we are are or say "thank you for shopping and have a nice day". That is total bullshit of customer service I ever got from a adult novelty store! And get this, she didn't even I.D us if we where 18 or older to enter the store in the first place! I wouldn't want an employee who doesn't do her job right or isn't customer friendly. I can get even more better customer service at any Spencer's store that's where I'll spend my money because they great you at the door, ask if you need any help and they say have a nice day and come back later. That's a customer service I would like to recieve and for other customers too. Not this lazy girl who went outside and went into her car for a break after we left while leaving the store unattended! I hope the owner of the store will reprimand her for unsatisfactory customer service and work ethics. Lastly if the bathrooms aren't for public use, either change the policy or hang up a damn sign that says "Employees only". I can respect that.
