I had to get a smog check to renew my vehicle registration. A quick search on Yelp led me to Doctor Smog because it was close, didn't require an appointment, and reviews consistently commented on how pleasant the owner is. Seemingly attached to a gas station mini mart (no affiliation), the location is small and might be easy to miss. Don't . I arrived 20 minutes before closing, hoping it wasn't too late and that he didn't give me attitude for driving in so close to the end of his day. To my surprise, the owner was pleasant, professional, and offered a beverage while I waited. 15 minutes later, I was on my way home, certificate of clearance in hand. It's the @light_skin_dragon blasting off making sure the air quality is good because of all the smog out here getting my car checked! Shawn and Raphael are amazing. They helped me out a lot. I came in because a few years ago they sent me a $10.00 coupon and so I was like yeah I'm going back since my registration is due this month. The price it self for a certified smog check was 98.00. Took it down to 88.00. Then I asked if they have military discount and so he applied another 10 off. I really appreciate the work they did. I was mainly talking to Shawn while Raphael was working on the smog check. Hands down this has been the best place for a smog check that I have came to! I highly recommend going for loyal service and they have complimentary drinks and snacks. The customer service was beyond exceptional. I'm telling everyone to come here and say Cedrick sent you! This has always been my hisband's go to place for smog test. However, for the first time, I had to be the one to bring in my car. I walked in with no appointment made for a smog test - they open at 8am and came around that time & was accomodated right away. The value is fair and they gave me $10 discount which is nice. The test only took less than 15 min. I wish I took pictures but I guess I was half asleep and it didn't register in my mind at that moment. read more

Called 3 times for a quote and they didn't answer. Drove to the location requested a quote for a smog check they quoted me $88. Drove down to vanowen and reseda for $50. Only came here for the reviews obviously there is cheaper places who are certified and answer their phones don't go here. read more

This was my first time here, and they were so welcoming and even offer snacks and drinks for you. I read the yelp reviews and seen that they did discounts for leaving a yelp review. I wasn't sure if they were still having that and I don't think I seen any sign at the shop about leaving a review for a discount, so I just asked the worker about it and he was able to honor it with no issue or hesitation. This other place I looked at was charging $120! But The whole process was super quick. I went in the morning on a Saturday so there was no one there. It took about 15-20 minutes. They were so nice! So of course I found this gem through my handy dandy guide Yelp! My mother's car needed a smog check and we called and Sean said to stop by talk to Z and he will get us right! So we came and talked to Z and he gave us a very good price for the Smog! And they do offer a discount offer once you check in on Yelp! It's Located in the 76 gas station on on Reseda and Roscoe! It's small quaint with exceptional service! Clean to be a smog check place, and they have seating area and water for their customers! Overall, I definitely recommend Doctor Smog! Used this place twice for my smog check and the man working here is always very friendly. There is rarely a line and it's easy to park. They always offer me a cold beverage while I wait and they make sure to park my car nicely so it's easy to leave at the end. Brought my car to get smog-checked here after I had just finished getting the car serviced at a nearby auto service establishment. I acquired the car from out-of-state and a special type of smog check was needed to submit to the DMV. The gents who assisted me were courteous and handled my request promptly without any issue. I was politely offered some soda while I waited and ate some lunch I had purchased from a kabob place nearby. They were very kind to compliment me on my car, as well. The technician thoroughly explained the situation and advised I could come back for a free re-test as soon as I drove the car some more.
