This place has the worst customer service. They blast the music so loud while you wait. The cost is also very high compared to other business near by. They charge $90 vs. $50-60 at other places. Do your research and don't come here.

My first time here. So sad my other guy is gone. Friendly service here. Nice people. Accurate assessment of my vehicle. Great place to hang out while waiting although I feel it could use more organization and some cleaning. I like that they have waters and sodas and coffee/tea drinks for customers. There are also some snacks and ice cream. Even though they were busy I didn't have to wait long. Everything gets sent to DMV and you get your stickers in the mail. read more

My 1995 BMW first went through a test and failed. Once my mechanic installed a new catalytic converter, I took advantage of the free retest about a month later at Simply Smog and promptly had my pass results transmitted to the DMV. Nice waiting area, too! I believe since the cost covers free testing needs, it may appear high against competitors -- but they are not offering free retests. read more

I would not recommend this smog check business. The prices were significantly higher than other places nearby--definitely felt like I overpaid. On top of that, the wait time was excessive. While I understand people have different political views, the owner's outspoken display of controversial political memorabilia made the environment uncomfortable and unprofessional for me. I go to a business for service, not a political statement. There are plenty of other smog check stations with better pricing, faster service, and a more neutral atmosphere. I'll be going elsewhere next time. read more

Most entertaining smog check establishment you will ever find. Very friendly owner. Has a sitting area with big screen tv playing 80's videos . Everything from British Invasion Rock to New Wave bands. The owner even gave those of us waiting in the area a verbal tour of the Automotive Museum in San Fernando. Don't know if they offer coupons for smog checks ( I couldn't find one). read more

Came here for my smog. There was no wait. The gentlemen working was extremely informative and he was very kind. The waiting area was well equipped for you short stay. This is where I go every time I need a smog check. I go early to beat the crowds and am either the first one there or almost. Their prices are a little higher to other places in the area but I like the convenience of a 'drive thru' smog check. Also, if your car fails the smog check, you get free re-tests for 3 months. They are always friendly and have helpful info for submitting DMV forms & payments. Nice perk is that they offer snacks and beverages while you wait. read more

4 years ago this company charged my daughter $148.25 for a smog test plus certificate for a 26 year old Ford Explorer with 120,000 miles, and was in good shape. It passed the test the first time. Why was my inexperienced daughter charged so much? I believe she obviously was taken advantage of. read more

Won't be going back it's pricey. Plus, the guy behind the desk is bipolar. one minute is dancing around the next minute He's an angry man! After my car passed, I noticed my rosary on my rear view mirror was yanked off and now I find somebody must have done something to the smog system. I'm getting an error message on my car. Who do you think I should blame it on all because he saw a Biden button in my car! Don't trust those people! Remove any political stickers or pins that they might get them angry. I just wish Nick was there I wouldn't have to deal with those other ol' guys... read more

Wow! Amazing service here! The two guys in there are friendly and welcoming. They answered all my questions and concerns. Took my car in and quickly started the process. Older white man was nice and offered many options on refreshments and even ice cream! So happy I found this locally on yelp. Definitely coming back here again. The facility is also low-car friendly so highly recommended for car enthusiasts with that concern. Thank you guys! read more

If you're a Trumper this place is for you! There was a Trump doll on the counter. The owner/manager was wearing a Trump cap. The TV was so loud I had to go outside (on FOX of course). It was obvious to me that he was looking for a reaction from me. He himself was very loud and obnoxious commenting and laughing about FOX and their entertainment show. I should have known to leave sooner when he incorrectly pronounced the make of my vehicle. I corrected him and he still pronounced it incorrectly again as if to get a reaction from me. I didn't engage with him at all the entire time. I wanted out of there as soon as possible. I will say it was very quick maybe 15 minutes. The cost was $99. not sure if that's good or not. It would have been nice to enjoy the waiting area but it was too loud and he would walk back and forth from the counter to the waiting area to laugh and comment loudly about what was going on. It's not necessary to flaunt your political affiliation at a business . He clearly doesn't care by his own responses to the other reviews. read more

Smogging your car is stressful every two years you have that fear this is the year it doesn't pass, and most smog places are not a fun experience, Simply Smog was a fun experience. Yes address the elephant in the room it is priced higher than usual and it was stated up front what the price would be but my take away from this was that this business is honest community orientated which is rare these days I think that is worth giving business to. How many other auto related business have you been to with a nice waiting area free snacks and drinks and ice cream, and even a blood pressure tester. Also there is a community bulletin board on one of the monitors about other business. I have no issue paying a little more to a business that cares about the customer and the community. read more

Really loud '80's rock music in the customer lounge areas. It was 90 outside, there's no option to sit anywhere else that's cool and habitable. Guy at the counter was friendly, wearing a MAGA hat and a Bobble head doll of Trump on the counter. I should've left right then. I assume the smog check was fine, but I've never paid $98 for a smog check before. Usually around $50. I won't be going back. read more

I took my Mom's '89 Pontiac to Simply Smog. The owner, Dave was very friendly. When he saw my vintage Iron Maiden shirt he put youtube on the large screen tv to show me a video by one of his favorite bands. He came over frequently while I was waiting to chat with me. There are many choices for free drinks and snacks including chips, apples, nut bars, tea, coffee and soft drinks. There is also a table of free items such reading glasses, mini flashlights and more. You are requested to make a small donation for thyroid cancer when you take an item. Yes the prices at this shop are higher than others but you can count on Dave and his crew for fast friendly service. read more

I drive a 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport, and now that I'm past the factory warranty, it is incredibly important for me to know I have a mechanic who will give me accurate information and fair pricing--without taking advantage of the situation. Ray has always done exactly that. Over the past few months, I've had a few issues arise. When my car overheated and was losing coolant, Ray quickly diagnosed a leaking hose and repaired it the very same day, getting me safely back on the road at a fair price. Another time, when the check engine light came on, he identified that it was simply the battery and replaced it efficiently. What I appreciate most is his honesty. Just yesterday, my check engine light came on again, and after running diagnostics, Ray explained that the system was detecting vapor from the refueling area and that I likely just needed to tighten my gas cap. He could have easily charged me for unnecessary work, but instead, he gave me the correct guidance--and didn't charge me a thing. He has even helped me with small things, like replacing the battery in my key fob, at no cost. Ray is the kind of mechanic everyone hopes to find--skilled, fair, honest, and genuinely committed to taking care of his customers. When you leave his shop, you feel confident and secure knowing your vehicle was serviced correctly. If you are looking for a trustworthy mechanic who will treat you with integrity and respect, I highly recommend Ray and 101 Auto Repair.

after reading a review on a couple of local smog shops, smogsters versus simply smog, I decided to check out things myself... I have an old motor home and of course a car that both need to be smogged... first the MH. the price at smogsters is $99.75 plus $10.00 for the evap test and if it passes the first time the cert fee of $8.25, a grand total of $118.00... should it fail, the fee is $109.75 with a free retest... if it passes the next time in, the fee is $11.75 plus $10.00 plus $8.25,, a grand total of $109.75 plus retest $30.00 = $139.75... NOTE only ONE free retest.... at simply smog the price is $89.00 if it passes the first time... should it fail you pay $80.75... when you return for a retest, it is free if it fails, for as many times in 3 months as you want.... when your MH passes the fee is $15.00 making a grand total of $80.75 plus retest $15.00 = $95.75... a difference of $44.00 cheaper and with unlimited FREE retests.... you choose !!!!!! for the guys... there is a cute Russian girl that takes great care of you,, HOT tooooooo :)))))) onto the car... it's old so it also gets an evap test... the prices are the exact same if your car passes the first time at either store.... simply smog's retest fee is $15.00 when it passes, free if it fails.... smogsters retest fee $30.00 if it passes.... with no more FREE retests.... if you want the extras, simply smog has them..... FREE unlimited retests, a must with any old car... movies on a BIG screen with surround sound, Shrek 2 was playing when I was there :))) a TV and computer room where I did my DMV renewal while they smogged my car... the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in an auto shop... and best ever.... Don't go THERE This people don't care about your situation regardless you're have a job or not especially with the covid 19 killing people or many others like me just losing their job no matter what they charge $100 pass or not pass especially if you have an old vehicle be smart and don't take it there there thieves and cheaters I'll find the way to sue this people. ,and I'll be calling the better business bureau , nobody has the right to take advantage of the less fortunate people especially in a time like this read more

I saw were a few people said that $79.00 was not a price that indicated that it was cheap. Every else I have gone to always said one price and at the end it was higher, that said. an air conditioned lounge and an out door smoking section and a indoor sitting area with free soft drinks, coffee, tea, water and ice cream and all of it in a very clean shop. This is the ultimate place to get your smog checked!! They have refreshments, games, TV, and even a piano for anyone wanting to come and get their smog checked and lay back for a moment. Also, all the re-tests are free!!!!! As long as I live in the valley, that's where I'm going!! read more

Great service!! Super fast, offered drinks, ice cream, massage chair. They have food and TV while you are waiting for your smog test. We were in and out within 20min if not less. I absolutely recommend it 100%. Staff is very friendly and nice!! great experience, one of the best! read more
