Getting my smog checked certified by a professional! Doctor smog

It's the @light_skin_dragon blasting off making sure the air quality is good because of all the smog out here getting my car checked! Shawn and Raphael are amazing. They helped me out a lot. I came in because a few years ago they sent me a $10.00 coupon and so I was like yeah I'm going back since my registration is due this month. The price it self for a certified smog check was 98.00. Took it down to 88.00. Then I asked if they have military discount and so he applied another 10 off. I really appreciate the work they did. I was mainly talking to Shawn while Raphael was working on the smog check. Hands down this has been the best place for a smog check that I have came to! I highly recommend going for loyal service and they have complimentary drinks and snacks. The customer service was beyond exceptional. I'm telling everyone to come here and say Cedrick sent you! Parking is at the gas station so plenty of parking.

This place is great! I needed to get a smog from a star certified location and saw the reviews for Dr. Smog so I decided to call them first. They quickly answered the phone, quoted me a great price, and told me to come on by (no appointment necessary). I then arrived and met with Zareh and his associate, who were both very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and fast. They got me in and out the door in less than 15 minutes! Love that you don't need an appointment to come here. There was no wait and they are always so nice here! Came out for a 2nd time to this place and just really happy with the experience. This is a smog shop right next to the gas station, so parking may be a little tight. But even on a sat with all the hustle and bussle Shawn was able to get me in and out really quickly. They offered free beverages while I waited and shawn and his team were very friendly and personable. I didnt wait long at all and paid and was out of there in a really short time. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back for my other cars. read more

This is an amazing smog check facility. Very professional service and I have to say that it is one of the most clean facilities that I have ever been to. Sarkis, the facility manager is very generous with his vast knowledge about smog checks. In addition to his professional demeanor and boyish good looks, he is also very friendly and generous with his clients. He remembers small details that his clients tell him and he treats his clients like family. He remembered my dog's name! While waiting for my vehicle to be checked, he offers his customers complementary cold water and sodas. The reception area is very comfortable and relaxing. The atmosphere there is very laid-back and chill. The energy here is fantastic. If you're looking for one of the most amazing smog check experiences in all of Los Angeles, this place will be it. And their prices are super reasonable and they are very efficient and quick with getting you in and out and on with your life. Saw the reviews on Yelp, so... why not? Zee and "Heart Attack" Shawn took excellent care of me. 10 minute wait and 12 minutesd and the car was done, no problem. And don't think I didn't notice they applied the $15.00 discount. I did. Thank you. $73.00 total and they have coffee and bottled water, too. What more could you ask for? Established in 2003.

Shawn's been in the automotive industry repairing cars and performing smog checks for over 30 years and is an ASE Certified auto mechanic. After being an employee for a mechanic shop for several years, Shawn decided he wanted to open his own smog check station and did so in 2003 and called it Doctor Smog. Most of the local mechanic shops in the Northridge/Reseda area trust their customers to Shawn at Doctor Smog because of his level of professionalism and respect towards his customers. Students from CSUN as well as customers from Northridge, Porter Ranch, Granada Hills, Canoga Park, Tarzana, Encino, Lake Balboa, and all over the San Fernando valley come to Doctor Smog to get their vehicle smog checked. Doctor Smog is a Star-Certified Smog Check Station and offers a free retest, if your car doesn't pass the first time around.

Meet the Business Owner: Shawn H.

Shawn comes from a family of mechanics. Raised in Southern California Shawn's been interested in fast cars and motorcycles since his early childhood. His first car was a '67 Camaro which he wrenched on day and night. In 1993 he received his ASE certification and began his career. Cars are his passion and it shows.

I believe I paid $55 with the credit card fee included but the gentleman working here was really sweet when I spoke to him on the phone which is why I ended up coming here. This smog check location is right behind a Shell gas station and I might have been lucky because there was nobody there and I was able to drive right up for service. It took no more than 10 minutes and explained the entire process to me. He was even sweet enough to check why my gear icon was on, and I thought that was such a nice gesture that he didn't even need to do, which is why I felt compelled to write a really good review for this location! Shawn was incredibly friendly, made jokes to keep things light, and even offered cold water and refreshments while I waited. Customer service like that is hard to find these days. While their advertised price may be slightly higher than some competitors, what I appreciated most was their honesty and transparency. They gave me an upfront, out-the-door price with no hidden fees or surprise charges. The staff here is super friendly and truly care about helping customers. I've taken multiple vehicles to them just because I like supporting businesses like this who don't take advantage of people and are just straight up honest and hard working individuals. My moms car was a used purchase and it required a smog check by DMV before I could get it registered and I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. Brought my car into get it smog-ed at Doctor Smog. It failed the15 mph test . I took it home put in a new set of plugs, air cleaner, and added a bottle of CRC G2P ran the tank a gas through it, Filled up a new tank of gas and got the FREE retest . I drove right up and it took only 15 minutes to get smogged. They offered drinks and snacks while I waited. The best thing is that they are open on Sundays! read more

I needed a smog check I was out in less then 8 minutes and after calling around to several other places I felt $58 was a fair price..
