I like Chicago and NY hot dogs, both are classic, but man LA does it differently. From the hot dogs carts to Dog Haus. The Sooo Cali here is probably my favorite hot dog of all time. Then you add a good selection of draft beer, patio, TVs showing games. I mean come on, what else can you ask for? I have probably been to 4 locations within the past 10 years and not once have I left there without thinking that I just had the best hot dog. That's consistency. There's street parking or a structure parking to get here. You'll have to walk down an alley a bit and it'll be on the left. They have loads of indoor and outdoor seating. It's very chill and casual. A good place to watch some sports. The staff are are nice and lax. You'll order first then get a number for the staff to bring your food. The register is down some stairs but there's a mini elevator for those in a wheelchair. The restroom is a bit grungy but manageable. I got the holy aioli burger. It was tasty, with a good amount of pink in the patty. I do enjoy the Hawaiian rolls. The fries are great, they have that restaurant seasoning coating. I'd return to try more of the menu. Such a sad visit to one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Been coming here since it was just my wife and I, now we enjoy visiting with our three kids. Yesterday we put in our regular order, but the Soooo Veggie Haus Sausage wasn't available any more... my wife was bummed, but she was fine ordering a veggie burger... that was also no longer available... Beyond Bratwurst... nope. NOT A SINGLE VEGETARIAN OPTION. I suggested we go elsewhere, but our three kids were settled in and excited to be there, so my wife just didn't eat. My daughter's sliders were skimpier than normal and the beer list seems to be cut in half. Luckily the Dog Haus near my work on Hollywood Way is still great, but we will no longer be visiting this location. read more

My experience was pretty bad. Came here at night last week, still had 3 hours till closing. Order some hot dogs and tots. Wanted to grab a beer, ask bartender for it and tells me out of stock. Okay that's normal, sometimes the restaurant can't control that. So I then ordered a fountain drink. Finish the transaction, immediately go to the soda machine and pick my first option. I try it, it's pure sparkling water. Go to the second option, pure sparkling water again. Go to the third option, pure sparkling water. At this point, I want a refund on the fountain drink because I paid and this machine doesn't seem to be working. I do not ask the bartender for a refund because a massive group of 20 just walked in, I just let it go. Food comes in shortly after I order, boom, next mistake. There's mustard on my hotdog. I didn't want mustard and I asked for no mustard, receipt says no mustard. I try my best to wipe it off and just eat it. Very disappointed in this place, will not be coming back and I do not recommend. Also, one of the bartenders made a fart noise with his mouth and hands towards a regular/his friend. No biggie for me, but he started pouring drinks after that. No hand wash or hand wipe? Kind of gross, luckily for me I was already getting to leave. read more

There's a lot of nearby street parking, as well as a parking structure. There is some indoor seating, and a good amount of outdoor seating. This is an especially great space if you are here to watch sports! It doesn't tend to be as crowded as the actual sports bars, but they have plenty of TVs and beer options. The staff seem very casual and nice, though a little surprised that we were only getting food and not a drink too. They will give you a number for your table, then they will bring out your food. The dogs were just alright. They are way too heavy handed with the mayo on the dog I got. The bathroom was just nasty! This was our first time at this Biergarten. Finding the entrance was a little weird since the address is on Green St., but as we turned the corner into a wide walkway (probably looking a bit confused) a guy sitting at the patio waved at us and pointed at the entrance. There's one register at the end of the counter on the right side as you walk in. The team member who took our order was welcoming and friendly. There were several customers at the bar enjoying the football games on multiple screens. We chose a corner table towards the back. Our order came out impressively fast and accurate. We didn't need to ask for anything else. The BABBs (Chachi, Pastrami) and the Southwest Tots were excellent -- the best ones we've had in comparison to the other locations we've visited so far. The place was very clean and organized. Most of the customers seemed to be there for drinks and to watch sports. There were a couple moments of loud cheers, but nothing obnoxious. There are several tables at the large outdoor space where it's quieter. Overall, a really nice experience. There's more than enough parking in the area. We chose a public garage nearby at the corner of Raymond and Green -- $1 for the first 2 hours then $2 for the next hour. read more

A great place to unwind in Pasadena. A little trivia: a scene from the TV show Shrinking (AppleTV) has Harrison Ford sitting outside right in front of this Dog Haus! The staff here is always professional and courteous which makes this place stand out. I like the SoCali dog. I signed up for email notifications a while back and am constantly reminded of Dog Haus, especially when I see those enticing new menu items. This is their second location, which opened in 2011, and they're now a national chain with locations in 10 different states. I ordered the Old Town dog, and it was fantastic! It had a nice kick to it, and I love that all their dogs come on King's Hawaiian rolls. While it might seem pricey to some to pay over $10 for a dog, considering most chili cheese dogs cost $7-$8, I think a fancy, dressed-up dog for $11 is worth it. We also tried the Chili Cheese Tots, which were a good take on chili cheese fries, although the portion size was a bit small for the price. The dipping sauces were amazing and took the tots to the next level! My wife enjoyed the Cowboy dog, and our son loved the kid's meal, especially the fries. I'd love to try some of their burgers and chicken sandwiches next time. We will definitely be back, and we really want to try their original location next! read more

Came here because I wanted to try a specific brewery and happened on their tap list on Untappd, only to find basically none of the listing was available. Later did a cross-check and noticed a small time stamp, and looks like the list has been ignored for almost a year. Seriously, why have an Untappd subscription if you never update it? Isn't it pretty expensive? Tap selection won't blow you away -- a lot of what you'll find at normal grocery stores, which is decent enough but you're not going to find breweries like Russian River here. That said, what's with the plastic cups? There's a shaded outdoor patio to enjoy the weather. Inside is dim for a more intimate bar/pub vibe, with multiple TVs dialed into sporting events. I doubt it gets packed here on big game days. Only grabbed drinks so I can't speak for the food. The gent behind the bar was nice and friendly. I would probably be more of a regular if they elevated their tap selection. Overall, it's a nice space but I feel like something's missing to really draw a crowd. This place is great, always consistent with the dogs. Came here on a Wednesday for the free dogs with a short wait time. With over 20 different beers and a long tables for large groups, this is a great spot to hangout with delicious hot dogs and beers. Reviewing a takeout order we placed on a Saturday afternoon. There was an event at the Pasadena convention center and we wanted a quick lunch nearby and so we decided to eat here. I haven't been to Dog Haus but seen them all over SGV. The place is bar like, you have to order the food at the bar station. Lots of decorations that show beer and other underground like aesthetics. They had games around and seating for groups too. Once we placed our order it only took about 10-15 minutes. We walked back to the convention center to eat. We ordered the Soo Cali dog, impossible burrito, kids tender meal, onion rings, and a soda. The Cali dog was good and messy, I don't think it's enough food for the price but it had a great flavor! I had to use a knife and fork because the breading (which were 3 rolls) started to fall apart and spill everything. Impossible burger was big, but again, it was a lot of eggs and other fillings and for the price I wish it had more of the impossible "protein". Not as messy as the dog. The onion rings were good, but I counted only 7 rings. The sauce it came with was delicious though. Kids tender meal was very good, but unfortunately the breading had a lot of black ground pepper so my kid didn't like it. I had to take the breading off and then he'll eat it. But he ate a lot of the fries. Overall, good place for a quick bite, but I wasn't really full afterwards so might just be a nice snack if we want to come again. read more

This is in a really cool location and the set up is really cool. There's an outside patio and a seating area inside with bar seating, high top tables, and regular tables. There's TVs inside and a spot for board games too. We got there about 30 minutes from closing so when we ordered, last call was already happening. We ordered tater tots, bbq chicken tenders, Old Town Dog, and Cowboy. There's also a great selection of beer; my husband had the Sour Monkey and it was great. The order came very quickly. The tater tots were balanced, not too salty but not bland. We wish it was a little crispier but they were still good. The bbq chicken tenders were delicious. The bbq sauce had some heat which cut through the sweetness; again really balanced in its flavor. The dogs were delicious and my favorite part of the meal. The buns it came in were soft but toasted so it wasn't soggy. There was a lot going on for both dogs, but it never tasted like too much. All the sauces and Toppings had something to add to the overall flavor of the hot dog. Lastly, my husband had ordered his hotdog with cheese slices instead of cheese sauce. When we got the order, his hot dog had cheese sauce. We decided not to say anything because it wasn't a big deal. But, about halfway through our meal, a server came up to us and said that a new hot dog was made for us because it was noticed that cheese sauce was used instead of slices. This is a good place to grab a bite with our dog while walking in Old Town Pasadena. The food is better than expected, especially for a chain and at this price point, and I also really like that their meat is vegetarian-fed and free of hormones and antibiotics. The sandwiches are very filling (the "bun" is four Kings Hawaiian rolls!") Recently we've been enjoying grilled chicken bowls as an alternative; even these are almost big enough to share if you also have some sides. They have a nice range of beers, too, including some darker ones, which I appreciate. Service has been good, and the ambiance is casual and come as you are. It feels like a reflection of the community with CalTech students, tourists, convention center attendees, running clubs, parents with young kids, seniors, and sports fans. Finally, as a local I want to highlight that they are consistent.
