When the food was delivered to our table, we noticed that the server was wearing gloves. The burger was quite large (filling 4 King's Hawaiian rolls) but didn't pack a lot of flavor. The corn dog is longer and a little thicker than one usually gets when ordering a corn dog; it had excellent flavor. The inside has a comfortable, modern industrial atmosphere. The husband asked to tag along on an errand I had in Canoga Park. We decided to go around lunch and to visit this Dog Haus location for the first time. Although we talked about trying other menu items, we could not get past having their BABBs again. We each ordered our favorite Pastrami Burrito with the eggs prepared sunnyside (adds $1.50). For our sides we chose our usual Onion Rings and then thought to try the Southwest Tots. It all came out fast and so, sooooo good! The Southwest Tots is a new favorite! We experience a minor issue paying with InKind -- the app was very slow to find our check. Did regular buffalo on the wings and it was better than most for sure, sort of unique flavor .. coming back to try others for sure. THE BREAKFAST BURRITOS.. actually the best I've ever had. Ordering was easy and fast which was great. Then everything got bad. The food took forever to come out and then they said they accidentally gave our food to another table. Been here a few times but not that often. I finally got to try their breakfast burrito, specifically the Haus Burrito. It was yummy! I'd come back to get it again or def want to try their other ones because they have a good variety. I got the chipotle aioli on the side which is delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming. Dog Haus prepared a huge order of "bad-a** breakfast burritos" for a company meeting and I had the Würst Burrito (3 sunny side up eggs, sausage, white American cheese, crispy tater tots, caramelized onions, and spicy mayo). At a place called the Dog Haus, you would expect a good hot dog, right? Good texture, crispy skin, flavor... Nope. I'm sorry, maybe my experience would have been better with more knowledgeable customer service, but here are my issues: 1)Asked for a traditional hot dog. I specifically said I don't want a gourmet dog, just an old-fashioned hot dog. What I got an overly sweet "savory desert" I specifically referenced old-fashioned dodger dogs, which had a crispy casing. They suggested I order it "well done" to get it crispy. I explained it was the casing that makes it have that pop or crunch, they still had no idea. Keep in mind, this is a place that specializes in hot dogs. 2) I just wanted a traditional hot dog, onions mustard relish, which is what I asked for What I received was some sort of casserole topping mixed with relish on a King's Hawaiian bun type sweet bread. Sorry, this was a disgusting, overly sweet mushy texture and a total disappointment. I did order it with spicy mustard which should have cut some of the sweetness but not spicy at all. It did not come with onions but with crispy fried onions, you know, the casserole topper and Thanksgiving. It was completely mixed in with the relish so I couldn't separate it. I asked for fresh onions, which they did have.. The hot dog itself was pretty much a mediocre salt bomb. No flavor, no distinctive texture. Price: $13+ tip, which included a fountain drink. I literally could have walked half a mile to Costco and then a lot happier at under $2. It's not the $13, it's that this is a restaurant that specializes in hot dogs. I was very clear when I ordered, and it's disappointing that the two guys at the counter and prep area did not bother to give me an option of bun or onion. If I had not been so specific, I wouldn't be being so harsh right now. But if a customer is really clear about what they want, then let them know their bun options, onion options... Educate me. Place was clean, I see other people like it, so in all fairness, I did not try any other items other than a fountain drink. You could smell the place before you entered and it smelled like heaven wrapped in grilled meat. So glad we came here. It turned our night around. The food was soooo delicious and the staff was awesome. Super friendly and helpful. We got the Old Town Boy, the Fonz, the kids hamburger and root beer battered corn dog combo, and the Love Boat. Dog Haus also operates as Plant B and the Impossible Shop, so if you order online from either of these places you'd pick up your food at Dog Haus. I got a vegan Cali burrito and a side of fries to go, and the food was decent and the portion was big! However, I paid $25 for the burrito and $4 ish for the fries.... Okay, so I understand this is a chain so my ignorance about its existence until now is probably unacceptable but this place is great and on the off chance there is anyone like me who hasn't tried it then please take this as your sign to go. Meeting a group of friends for lunch and wanted something informal where we could sit and talk without being rushed. Dog Haus fit the bill. It's a fast food type layout on Topanga Blvd with a good sized parking lot. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table when it is ready. The tables inside all have backless benches so if you are seated anywhere but on the end seat, climbing in can be a bit of a challenge. I ordered the Hot Chick sandwich ($13.50) with a side of sweet potato fries ($5). The sandwich has grilled chicken "tenders" (you can get it fried also) with pickle slices, slaw and sauce on a Hawaiian bun. While it is quite tasty, the bun gets saturated with the slaw and sauce that it is impossible to pick up without it falling apart - so I ended up eating it with a knife and fork - not a big problem. The sweet potato fries were soggy - so not great. Overall, a bit pricey for what you get, low points for ambiance. I don't think I will be coming back soon. read more
