I have walked and driven by Michael's Burger countless times always thinking to myself... "Ive gotta give this place a try one day" Well that day finally came. Maybe the stars had aligned. Maybe it was simply fate. Or maybe, just maybe... It was just plain 'ol dumb luck. Yes, that day it was 7.7.25 and the last time I checked (2+5) = 7 So basically Lucky # 777 Hey, I'm no gambling man, but I've been on a hot streak lately when it comes to finding damn good, straight forward burgers. And Michael, Big Mike, Mikey... Know that in my book: You've earned a Gold Star for one solid burger. The day I went I wasn't too hungry, but I knew I needed to eat. So I kept it simple. No frills. No sides. Hell, not even cheese. That's right, a burger just as it comes. You hear what I just said? Just. As. It. Comes. No substitutions. No, "everything but onion" No "can I have a side of ranch?" No fries. No drink. No shoes. No shirt. No problem. Just me, a hot juicy burger wrapped in yellow paper and a BIG ass smile on my face! Yeah, let's just say, it hit hard. It made my day. It was just what the doctor ordered. And after I was done, I walked outta there with a little more pep in my step. Best Burger I've ever had? No But it was pretty damn Good! (The Best burger I've ever had was hands down a burger made by my Dad when I was about 10 years old. Ever since then, I've been chasing that burger, the "unicorn " that I'll never catch) Sorry Michael, but you never had a chance, haha. Anyways.... Michael's Burger is truly a staple in Canoga Park. Open 44 years (as of 2025) and this place is still holding it down. Best part... The prices!! The single most expensive item on the menu is their chili fries with Pastrami or bacon at $15.53. Everything else; every burger, sandwich, burrito, are all way less and in today's economy, that is hard to find nowadays. Heck, you can even get a Steak Dinner with fries or steamed rice along with a dinner salad for: $12.79!!! Yeah let me spell it for ya... Twelve, Seventy-Nine!!! That. Is. Insanity. And I give this place props for keeping it real. And just to keep it in perspective... My burger that was grilled to order, on an open flame was $6.39, $7 dollars even with tax. Besides the peeps with the crossed palms trees and big 'ol Yellow arrow, where you gonna find yourself a hot, fresh, made-to-order burger for 7 bucks with tax... I'll wait. Besides Burgers, specialty sandwiches and all of the obvious sides you'd expect at a burger joint, word on the street is, Michael's also serves up a mean Hawaiian Loco Moco as well as a full breakfast menu in which I am definitely going to try in the near future. But the next time I roll through, I'm opting for a burger special with fries & a drink. Hell, I might even splurge and add cheese & bacon. The only downside to this place... No inside seating at all and only a few tables outdoors most of which are in the sun. So either get your order to go or bring a pair of shades with you so you aren't blinded by the sun while you take a bite of pure burger bliss. To another 44!!!

    Breakfast Burrito

I've lived in the Valley since the 90s yet I've never been here. Every weekend I treat myself to a breakfast burrito and I've been driving by this place for a long time. Here for 44 years. I really enjoyed my $12 veggie burrito but adding avocado is not an option. If you read the other reviews you will notice that seasonings and sauce is not their strength so take it to go and do your thing at home. No dine in options or a public restroom. The service was great and quick. You do have the option of sitting outside. Burritos are bigger and cheaper than what you get at the farmers' market. Owner is not friendly but who cares. I would go back.

14$ is different than 42$ asian guy at register very rude. He intentionally charged me even tho I told him not to charge it again.

In my opinion over priced average Burger spot. No dining unless you want to sit outside .

Went there for the breakfast burritos since they serve them all day. Got the all meat burrito and it tasted just meh. They skimped on the bacon and it could have used more seasoning. There is no seating inside although I wasn't planning on eating there but they did have seating outside so you could wait for your food.

    All fat, no steak

This place sucks. They should call their "steak and egg burrito" a fat and egg burrito. Terrible service and quality to sell this. -5 stars

    Grilled ham and cheese

I don't know what the hell happened to this place, but I will NEVER be going back. Used to be awesome. Just went in to get lunch. It was hotter than outside, no inside dining, cramped. Got the grilled ham and cheese. The picture is below. The bread was smashed paper thin, one tin piece of ham, smaller than my fist for $9!?!?! No soda machine, not a grain of salt on the fries which tastes like the oil hasn't been changed in months! If this is a new owner, they need to rethink ever working in food. Horrible! Do not go!

Have been visiting this burger joint a lot in the past - always got a double cheeseburger. Recently revisited this place again to see whats changed. There is no dine in option - they have small out door area that is placed by the noisy road so I would not recommend it. The food is being prepared on the actual grill with flame - burger wise this place is really worth trying - I would say one of the top burger places in SFV - the burger has 1000 island sauce, fresh crispy veggies and 2 patties. Not the juiciest one but tastes great! The portion is big and costs only $9. They have freshly squeezed orange juice, soda and a bunch of other items in the menu. The service is always fast. P.s. i have tried few other items from the menu like breakfast burrito or melts - they are no good lol. So go for burgers only!

03/23/2022 "Take your wife to work day" March 2022 brought us out to Canoga Park. Hubby was craving a burger so I searched Yelp and found this place, only a few minutes away from where he needed to work. This little place is diagonal to Tommy Burgers. Order at the counter and eat outside. Burgers were okay. Cooked well but nothing outstanding. French fries were cooked well but not seasoned.

    Double Cheeseburger special.

Your neighborhood Italian deli, bakery and market all in one place!…read more Cavaretta's Italian Deli is an east coast style Italian deli that brings back a bit of nostalgia with old school vibes! They've been serving their loyal customers in the San Fernando Valley since 1959! Handmade meatballs and marinara sauce, that's simmered for 7 hours. Lasagna that's made from scratch daily. You can't beat their popular Italian Sub so of course we had to order that! Picked up a couple old school Italian sandwiches for our Hollywood Bowl show. Of course, we couldn't leave without their housemade Tiramisu and Carrot Cake Bar. Trust me, definitely worth it! Don't skip out on their cannolis and other desserts. There's a little market inside and seating. Perfect for a picnic or catering your next event!

Well, Well, Well…read more... It appears that my 23&Me ancestry composition has been recently updated and as of today, you are now looking at a 7.1%, Pure, Italian Stallion. Yeah, I too always thought I looked like a young Joe Pesci... Ha! Hey, Fugheddaboudit!!!! Hey, hate me for my ways, but blood is blood and I'm going to run with this Italian thing for as long as I can. And just as my "old Italian Nonna" might have said, had I actually had one... "O mangi la minestra o salti la finestra" But being that I am less than 10% actual Italian blooded, and me not actually having a Nonna who would probably just yell crazy things at me in Italian, I'll just stick to the little Italian that I actually know..... The Food!!!! Yeah give me.... A little meatballs slathered in marinara covered in melted provolone... Or Some thinly sliced prosciutto, mortadella, capicola on some crusty Italian bread... Or even... A square of lasagna with Italian sausage, mozzarella, ricotta, Romano cheese served with a chilled San Pellegrino to wash it all down... And you'd be 100%, not 7.1% correct, that I would enthusiastically rep my Italian heritage and proudly wave the colors of my National flag... The Red, The White & The Bl.... Errr, I mean Green! ;) Yes, I can admittedly get behind Italian food any day of the week and I know my "Nonna" would be proud. Well thankfully, you don't have to go all the way back to the Motherland to visit your Nonna and experience the old world eats of a little place called Italia! Cause Cavaretta's Italian Deli has all your Deli needs and wants covered. Yep, a San Fernando Valley staple since 1959, this spot has been and continues to be the place to grab the Best Italian sandwich (according to the Daily News) this side of the Colosseum (according to me, Lance L.). But the cocoa powder on top of the Tiramisu (aka the cherry on top)... This deli has an Italian Grocery shop with everything you need to make your real or made up Nonna proud back in your kitchen. So, forget about waiting around for your 23&Me results to come back and just get your little pasticcino buns over to Cavaretta's and live like the Italiano's do! Ciao Bella!

Let just start with Cricca's Deli makes some seriously well-crafted sandwiches. The quality really stands out -- generous portions of meat, fresh vegetables, and great attention to detail in every bite. You have several choices of bread, and I went with the soft roll, which tasted bakery-fresh and was the perfect match for the sandwich. The large subs are truly large -- easily big enough to share between two people. If you're looking for a deli sandwich made with fresh ingredients and generous portions, Cricca's is definitely worth a visit. If you in the area or looking for a high quality sandwich you have to check this place out - you will not be disappointed. I'll be back For Sure

It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!
