Was at Eureka this long with no acknowledgment from the staff.

Pains me to write this because Eureka is a long time favorite. Today, Mother's Day was not busy to my surprise. We decided to have an early lunch/late dinner. We were seated in the far back corner. Ignored so we asked for another table. I do wonder why we were placed in the very back because we had to walk by two empty tables of 4 on the way to the back. So great we have a new table. By this time there three empty tables for 4! Great right? But still forgotten. No acknowledgment from the non busy staff. How did I know they were not busy you ask? The pool if younger staff at the greeting stand were just talking and having a good time amongst themselves. The staff with black outfits and aprons at the back register area as well. The table next to us was served their appetizer while we sat beside them. They ate some and in time had their order taken (Korean male server). Meanwhile my table of 4? Nothing. No one ever brought water. No one said I'll be with you in a minute. Even the manager type (thin beige pants blue long sleeve linen like shirt)) outside tables and walked right by. Ok. So we left.

They have a great smash burger. I really enjoyed it. They have great outdoor dining at thus location, and the parking structure is huge. Definitely a good place for an elevated burger and fries.

Eureka is located in the Topanga Village by Costco and a bunch of other small businesses. Parking is fairly difficult; there isn't much unless you enjoy walking. Parking will also cost money if you'd like to park nearby. There is a wide selection of drinks available to try (and order). For starters, our party of six had an order of grilled chicken nachos, and I had their burger special at the time, which featured pineapple. Everything tasted delicious, though service was a bit on the slower end that evening. In terms of location, I would classify this as a hidden gem of Woodland Hills; I only discovered Eureka! when a coworker shared it. It's definitely not on an edge of this plaza that one would normally explore.

Posting this review after trying this spot twice. The first time was extremely slow service and I thought that might've been a one off. However, I went again and experienced even slower service on Tuesday night. I had to physically get up and grab our waiter twice. Our nachos came out first and the green beans came out more than 15 minutes later. The nachos looked nice but lacked beans & the chips seemed soggy. The green beans were cold and burnt; not charred. We left more than half of the bowl on the table. Wish I could like this spot because of the ambiance and location, but it's a miss.

Location 4 stars: In the trendy Village shopping complex in Woodland Hills, California, on the west end facing Topanga Canyon Blvd. Plenty of parking in the structure and the open lot behind the Village (free for the first 1.5 hours) but be prepared to walk a little. Also time-limited, pre-paid numbered parking stalls in front of the restaurant which I have seldom been lucky enough to find unoccupied. There is also paid Valet parking somewhere nearby but I did not locate it Venue 4 stars: Contemporary and modern, larger venue with a bar, indoor tables and booths, and outside seating. They take reservations on their website which I would recommend if you plan to visit during busy times such as lunch, dinner or any time on the weekends. Service 4 stars: Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. The manager also checked on us and was friendly and welcoming. Food 3.5 stars: Modern American comfort food, with emphasis on hamburgers. They also have appetizers, salads, sandwiches, 3 knife and fork plates and dessert . The menu is sizable and creative and the 8 burger options look interesting and unique. The happy hour menu (3PM to 6 PM and after 9PM daily) is small but inviting and well-priced. We ordered the Double Smash Burger, the Fresno Fig Burger and the Wagyu Bone Marrow Burger. We did unfortunately find them a bit dry and also overcooked (although we had ordered the Fig and Bone Marrow Burgers medium). Also, while plating was nice, the flavors were ok but not memorable. Drinks 4 stars: Full bar. Nice selection of specialty cocktails and mocktails, large list of beers in bottles and on tap (including some rotating taps), nice albeit smaller wine list, and a sizeable selection of whiskey. Billing 2 stars: I was disappointed that on the handheld payment terminal they recommend the tip amount based on the total after tax, which is not correct. Tipping is customarily calculated based on the total before tax. Some restaurants have started doing this recently which I find misleading and I will be calling them out on it. I have posted a picture of the check. Now, this may have been done by the terminal vendor and not the restaurant management but nevertheless I would recommend that the restaurant addresses this to avoid having confused and unhappy customers. The Bottom Line 4 stars: Great vibe, service, venue and area. I would hope that they would address the food concerns and the tipping practices that I have mentioned earlier.

My closest friends and I always meet here in Woodland Hills for an upscale brunch/dinner during all the holidays. One of my friends brings her baby daughter, with and so we always make sure she's comfy and parking is easy. Eureka, has super yummy vegetarian options and can I also say which is a rare feature in fine dining: the calorie count on the menu is awesome! Esp, during the holidays keeps you on track with better foodie choices. Really appreciate that bit. Can we talk abt Hoppy Hour! So many yummy appetizers to share with the entire table at awesome prices! Fried pickles Mac and cheese balls and nachos with jalapeños. And even a few drinks, my husband loved and for myself, the Lavendar Iced Tea was decorated with gorgeous flowers and delicious drink. Truly the best iced tea I've had this year, and it's my thing! The ambiance is holiday cozy, and upscale. Twinkle lights strung all about the trees, family friendly patio table sets, excellent service, and easy parking. Esp, during the holidays like a quite the feat. Thanks for a delectable meal with my dear friends, this holiday time of year. And for the amazing dining service. We'd love to return soon!

Food, service, and ambiance were great! They have a great happy hour collection. The food taste good and the drinks made well! Not much to complain about it's a pretty great casual place!

Happy Hour Eureka Burger and fries

The atmosphere here is easily the standout. The outdoor seating and lighting are really well done, making it a great spot for a date night or happy hour. Pricing is solid too. I paid $13.50 for a burger and fries, and my beer was $6 during happy hour from 3 to 6 pm. The wait staff was friendly, and service was quick and attentive. My only real knock is the food itself. It is good, but not quite top tier. The burger had a nice texture, but the flavor felt a bit dull, and the fries were not as crisp or as memorable as I look for in truly great food. That said, the atmosphere, prices, and service still make this a great spot to stop by.

Seated upon entry within a handful of minutes on a Thursday evening night. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful throughout the dining experience. My party of 3 arrived for the hoppy hour, which ends at 6pm. There's a fair selection of reasonably priced and decently filling options of food and drink alike I ordered the Eureka burger with the truffle cheese fries upgrade, fried pickles, and an IPA. I asked for medium rare on the burger, but instead got a medium rare. Nonetheless, the burger was actually quite enjoyable. It was juicy, slightly salty, buns were toasted well enough to give it the perfect firmness, and the sauce on the fires were great! The fried pickles were lightly battered, making them easy to snack on, as it wasn't particularly greasy or heavy. It comes with a garlic aioli that tasted great -- but was only halfway filled! Lastly, their beers are found on their in-house chalkboard, with different drinks on tap at any given moment. My IPA was hoppy and slightly bitter in all the best ways! The biggest miss during my visit to Eureka was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I think it's only natural to expect bathrooms to be restocked and ready for the dinner peak. Both the women's and men's bathrooms were either extremely low or completely missing essential bathroom supplies such as toilet paper toilet seat covers, soap, and paper towels! It was extremely disappointing to go to an unkept bathroom after a pleasant meal. Otherwise, I think Eureka's and their "hoppy hour" in particular deliver on fast, friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. Will be back soon!

I stopped by here yesterday to celebrate my sister boyfriend birthday and we had a wonderful time. I made reservations ahead of time through Google. I was seated quick when I checked in toward the back where the booth is. The place has indoor seating and outdoor seating. We got the happy hour Eureka burger which was delicious, happy hour nachos and my sister got sweet potatoes fries. The happy hour is daily so that's always great. We enjoyed our experience here and our waitress was amazing but I forgot her name. The restaurant also leaves dog treats in the front for anyone walking their dog.

I've always had a great experience at Eureka! I've tried many items on the menu, and everything has been consistently delicious. Also the place has a really great vibe. That said, there is one downside that stands out to me every time I visit. As someone who usually just gets water as for the drink, it's disappointing to only be offered tap water when asking for water. It feels like a small detail, but the taste is so bad and it would definitely elevate the overall experience if improved, especially considering how great the food and service already are. This is the only reason I'm giving four stars. Still, I highly recommend this place!

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use.

However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

Wow. To be honest the service was never good at this location but the food is good but for sure…read moreover priced. But today the service tipped me over and put both me and my boyfriend in a bad mood. First, at check in the lady who sits people does not have voice to yell out people's names, she said my name very quietly that we didn't hear I don't think anyone would, luckily a man standing and watching waiting for his table told the girl that were there pointing at us because she was already putting the menus down thinking we're not there. You usually say the name at least twice or at least loud enough so people could hear. Second, we got sat at disabled table, not sure why when there were other available options. Lastly, I understand it was a bit packed but we waited 15 mins and then a "waiter" shows up, ask "how is it going?" I said hi how are you, he continues to grab our coasters, and goes "just saying hi" excuse me?? Did not ask if we want drinks or anything!! For a place that's advertised as a high end EXPENSIVE restaurant that is not the way to talk to customers because he didn't say anything after so in this awkward silence I go "im just going to have the chocolate cake please" which he responded to in weird manner that's unwelcoming at all "oh okay then just chocolate cake it is " or something along those lines. Takes everything off the table not even offering water and takes our glasses away. He seemed salty for sure. Very rude if you ask me. Got the cake 20 mins later. NEVER checked in on us after. Mind you there are always so many servers there and all they do is talk to each other and not check in or make sure the customers are satisfied. Usually I try to ignore their service but "just saying hi" is flat out disrespectful and unprofessional. So if you're the manager or the hiring team, please hire people who know how to provide a good customer experience and are professional or at least train them. Hire people for the front who aren't rude or have attitude because most of the time they have a nasty attitude like they're doing me a favor by checking me in. Today the lady was fine. I really hope that next time it will be better and based on other negative reviews I'm not the only one who has an issue with the staffs attitudes towards people so maybe it should be fixed otherwise I wouldn't go here if you're expecting a good service or good vibes.

The live band and background singers were amazing as well. There is plenty of street parking available. There's a chef providing food (I believe it rotates every week but I'm not sure). When I was there they had offerings like fries and wings. The garlic parm fries I tried were tasty and I wanted more. The bar was simple but the bartenders worked pretty fast. We ordered drinks 3 at a time so we wouldn't have to get up again and they were very efficient. I tried their margarita which was decent and not overly sweet. Don't worry I'm not a raging alcoholic, it was more so out of respect for the performer. They discourage walking around during the performances so everyone can see and enjoy no matter w The space itself is nice offering you indoor and outdoor space. The delicate hanging lights and plants are a nice touch, and the colorful lighting toward the stage area was very vibey. They also had hookah available, I'm not sure the cost. There's also a small digital Photo Booth at the entrance. The performances were great and so was the crowd. I'd love to come back another time and try more of the food and hear more live music. I loved it. This event has now moved to Andaz in West Hollywood

Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. Great food, great service, and a restaurant I'll absolutely be back to.

The layout is intentional and cozy. They have outside seating with heating. On busy nights, the noise level is high. It is hard to have a convo. I would recommend getting the outside seating for this because it is more intimate. Surprisingly, on our 2 visits, we got same server and she took care of us really well. Food is phenomenal! I am slightly disappointed with my cod as it didn't have the glazed sear I was hoping for. All of our orders on 2 visits were picture perfect and seasoned well. We will definitely be back and try a different dish. I am also glad that they have a seasonal menu.

We shared a couple of apps - crab cakes, pork belly/watermelon bites and sliders - all were very tasty. The pork belly/watermelon bites were surprisingly good and the perfect sweet & savory combo. We had mocktails to pair with our apps and it was refreshing. Overall, a great spot for sports fans, groups and everything in between. We also got lucky with parking on the street so that was a great bonus! Happy eating!

First, parking is rough. And by rough, I mean practically nonexistent. If valet is available, use it. If valet is full, good luck finding a spot nearby. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside and has a great atmosphere for watching a game. The place was packed, but our server was outstanding. Given the crowd, especially during the World Cup match, the service was impressive and easily one of the highlights of the evening. The drink menu offers a large selection of beers and spirits. The cocktails were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. As for the food, it was mostly average. The pork belly tasted more like carnitas, which wasn't necessarily bad, just not what I expected. The cheese balls received mixed reviews at our table. I thought they could have used a little more seasoning, but I was in the minority on that one. The crab cakes were small and, for me, lacked the most important ingredient--crab. Opinions were split at the table, but they didn't work for me. The house chips had a nice texture, although the frying oil tasted like it may have been due for a change. The smash burger was decent but nothing special. The steak frites were okay; I believe it was hanger steak, so take that for what it's worth. The shredded beef sliders were also just okay. Overall, I'd definitely return if I was in the area to watch a game and have a few drinks. The atmosphere and service make it worth a visit. However, if food is your primary reason for going, there are better options nearby.

He even came back to check out to-go order when he saw that we've been waiting for a while. What really stood out was his professionalism and positive attitude. This is my first time here at BJs. We came on a Saturday at 3pm ish. Place was not packed at all…read more Overall food was decent. I ordered the bjs classic crispy chicken, my wife got the chicken Alfredo (picture showed as if the chicken was crispy and my wife even asked for crispy) and my kids got the mini corn dogs and chicken club. My daughter's mini corn dogs was first. And took a while before we got the rest of the food. Our waitress woudn't show up so we had to ask the guy who was cleaning the tables for ketchup and ranch. He had to call the manager (guy from the front desk) who brought ketchup but was looking for our waitress for the ranch. Finally the rest of the food was brought. My wife was not too happy about the chicken alfredo. Chicken was grilled, not crispy. Waitress said that's how it's done but offered no solutions other than to call the manager. This was a weird response because we had asked for crispy chicken. Manager offered chicken parmessan but when they brought the food back they just replaced the chicken so the pasta was already cold. My wife was not too happy about her food. My sandwich was good and my kids said they really liked the food. Overall I'd say food was good, I think the issue here was the service. Our waitress wouldn't show up to offer refills (we only got one refill for the whole meal) and I had to ask the manager for napkinds because again, our waitress wasn't showing up. I would understand if the place was busy, but it wasn't. We ordered dessert for the kids. We got two kids pizookies which were 4.49 in the menu but when we got the check the price showed 5.99 each which usually is not a big deal but I was already not too thrilled about the service. I asked the waitress and she said those are the new prices and their menus didn't reflect the current prices. I didn't bother to check the prices on all other dishes we got. So we may have paid extra on everything. Ambiance overall was great. World cup time and all tvs had sports on all of them. I'm giving this place 3 stars. I didn't notice prior to coming over that this is the average. I would return though as like I said the food was ok. And my kids did enjoy the food and dessert.
