My dog Deuce and I have been coming to Dog On Fun since 2012, and have seen changes in the name as well as three changes in ownership.  All the owners have been great in their own unique way, but Samantha is by far the best, as well as my favorite. Her and her staff go above and beyond to take care of Deuce.  Deuce has special needs, and can sometimes be a grumpy old man. Samantha and her crew always make sure that he gets all of his medication, even when he is being stubborn, and he doesn't  want to take it, or eat his food.  Despite Deuce's grumpiness, the staff at dog on fun always made sure that he got plenty of exercise and plenty of love. When he was temperamental, with one worker, another worker would take their place and care for Deuce. Ian in particular was very good with Deuce, and formed a strong bond with him. The staff always make sure that he has a pillow since he has had two hip replacements and also suffers from Degenerative Myelopathy.  I would highly recommend Samantha and Dog On Fun to any and everyone, especially those with difficult dogs. They are patient, they are kind, and they are more than capable of dealing with the dogs, and ensuring their happiness and their well-being. read more

Samantha has been incredibly supportive, kind, and generous with her wealth of knowledge. My little guy has LOTS of energy and he LOVES going to daycare! Short story: Ian Ford helped me gently train my dog not to pull with a herm sprenger prong collar, which helped my dogs anxiety, for way less money and time than anyone else I could find. Ian was kind, flexible, knowledgeable, helpful, affordable, and a great communicator. I can't say enough good things about him. Long Story: My 80 pound lab is an older dog, and we really only just started going on walks because my husband and I are not working from home anymore. His anxiety went off the rails and walks were helping, but he was pulling so hard I was afraid he would pull me down and I'd get hurt. No matter what I tried it was getting worse and my dog was clearly growing to hate his harness. I talked with a few trainers and they all wanted $100+/hour, and said it would take 10+ hours and a very strict routine to get the walks down and deal with the anxiety. I don't know what their plan was but I didn't have a thousand dollars so I wasn't going to find out. When a friend connected me with Ian, he was way less expensive, and said we would make good progress in the first meeting at his location in Dog On Fun. ***AND WE DID!!*** He taught me how to use a sprenger prong collar. Ian taught me first that it's a **communication tool** and communication was what my dog and I needed. It was 1,000% better after just that first meeting. Not perfect - but I seriously felt a weight lift from my shoulders as I was driving home. And it gets better. Ian stayed in touch with me, and answered my follow up questions as I was using what he taught me. I could tell he wanted to be sure I really understood, and I felt he was invested in my success. We had one more meeting/training in person - where he came to me. He gave me one more tool to work with, and clarified the last few things I was doing that confused my dog and what I should do instead. (He trained me too I guess - lol) My dog and I are happy and chill friends again. It's so much better! I'm still training - and my pup isn't perfect after 2 trainings and about 10 walks, but it is an entirely different and better experience than it was. The strategies are working now where before it was just getting worse. My dog likes putting on those prongs because it means were going to have fun together. Ian has been a real blessing to me and my family and I can't recommend him enough. If you need help with dog training - basic obedience or tricks - I would recommend no one else. read more

We adopted our sweet girl Lucy from a local shelter, and knew we needed some training and a safe place to keep her if we went out of town or we were away from home for an extended time. We are SO blessed to find Dogs on Fun! First of all, we went for training! Wow! Ian her trainer has been such a huge help with Lucy since the very first meeting. She went from never being on a leash, to leashed walks with zero pulling in no time. He has worked with her on so many things, and is so patient and friendly. This dog boarding place is by far the best in town! I have always been skeptical leaving my dog at boarding places but they have always made me comfortable and safe with my baby girl. The owner is super nice and awesome, she has her staff keep in touch with me and let me know how she's doing. She also has super cool add ons like play time and tuck in. Ian Ford is the best dog trainer you can ask for. He's really patient and understanding. He takes the time to explain to you how everything goes. My dog Chai had been struggling with aggression and was very reactive. Chai had previous training with an E-Collar from Sit Means Sit and training from there was making him worse. Every time Chai would come to board at Dog On Fun there was complaints about him biting someone or lunging at the kennel. We met Ian and he took Chai under his own arms. Chai doesn't like any strangers. Well, Ian gained his trust and Chai now loves Ian. And honestly, I spent thousands at Sit Means Sit and with Ian, I didn't have to worry about that and he had his undervotes attention to Chai and to see why he was reacting the way he was. I highly recommend Ian. Seek no further. Find him on IG @keeperofthedogs Larissa also works there and she is a groomer. Supposedly they are under new management so I took my dog and what was my surprise that he got kennel cough so I contacted them by the way when I went to pick up my dog two employees gave me the worst attitude first one that I was too early to pick up second employee told me "don't ome in till I instruct you" so Samantha'sresponse (i think she is a manager or something) We have no known cases of kennel cough or else we would alert all of our customers. Just like sending your kids to school, dogs can pick up colds and viruses. As per the contract you signed we're not responsible if they do pick up a bug, just like you wouldn't ask your school to pay your doctor's bill. Hopefully Malo just had a little allergy or dry throat and is feeling better. There are many over the counter medications that help with that. Hopefully your vet was able to advise you without a visit. This is the best place. They have everything - from grooming to day care to boarding. I had my first appointment on Wednesday this week for a groom for my senior husky gal. She met everyone and was very comfortable. Larrissa is the most amazing caring person I have ever met who dose grooming. Honestly... she was so careful and considerate with my dog. My dog has never looked better. Her nails and fur are amazing and she smells naturally beautiful ... I can't recommend Dog on Fun enough! Samantha and her team absolutely love dogs and know how to take care of them. I have a 106 lb German Shepherd who can be quite the handful, but they've had no problem with him. My dog also seems to really like them as well. Finally, the team there is very accommodating. I brought my dog here as I attended funeral services for my grandparents and they were able to organize an early drop off or late pick-up as I needed it. Dog on Fun is great place to board our dog, Mookie. The staff always provides the best customer service. We recently requested the dog trainer, Ian Ford, to give us a little guidance on training Mookie to walk on a leash properly. Ian was great and very patient with us and Mookie. He taught us how to walk Mookie using a prong collar and a regular leash. After one session, Mookie is doing great on his walks and no longer drags his owners. I stumbled upon DoGon Fun, after many years of caring and keeping pooch and kitty rescues. I have 2 blind lady pooches, one of which is 16 years old. A hyper schnauzer that hates for his paws and hind legs to be touched. And, my little elderly Maltese , that has a lot of old lady moles Of which easily knick with a razor and can get infected. Bottom line is I'm a FREAK when it comes to someone handling my fur babies. They all have had such difficult beginnings (a breeder couple abandoned in a foreclosure , a shepherd that was dropped off, of the freeway at 4 weeks, and a mini Maltese, living on the street too long). So i'm a "high maintenance" customer. I have a lot of requests and rules. I'm sitting today in Christmas day writing this review because my fur babies and human family are all cuddling and are so happy! Fur babies were loved and well cared for at DoGon Fun earlier this week. My old girl didn't have one knick. My blind bijon was carried to my car by staff (i had three others on leashes). I am so happy with the service and the love. This is a "real animal loving place" not just a business with a bottom line profit goal. There are no fancy perfumes or trendy bandanas wrapped around them because they work hard at having "reasonable" pricing. And, I don't know ‍ about you but i throw those scarves out and don't like that perfume .. too strong for me ... can't imagine how my pooches olfactory systems must feel. Anyway, I'm in love with DoGon Fun and very Grateful to the mother and daughter team that opened this gem in my community. Ian Ford is amazing! We worked with Ian when we first adopted our dog and needed a dog trainer. I read the great reviews about him and decided to reach out. He met us for a consultation and asked us what our concerns were. Our dog would pull, lunge, and bark at everyone on our walks. She no longer does that with the use of a prong collar. Ian worked with us in our neighborhood and saw those behaviors. He introduced and educated us on the proper use of the prong collar. He fitted our dog to a collar and it was like night and day. My dog behaves on our outings now and I am able to have control of her. I used to be so stressed when we saw other people and dogs, but now I am able to walk her with confidence. Five stars are based solely for IAN FORD, the AMAZING trainer at this facility, not boarding. I fostered and eventually adopted a dog for Delaney's Dog Rescue. They rescued a dog from the Shelter that was on the euthanasia list and had less than one day to live. The dog is a sweet, high drive dog that loves all humans but is problematic with all small creatures. Delaney's Dog highly recommended training from Ian and they were absolutely right! Ian is naturally gifted with animals, particularly with high drive, high energy breeds like German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois. Ian has done wonders with my rescue dog and I would only consider boarding him at Dog on Fun because Ian is there. I trust Ian's skills and abilities so much! If I could give this places 0 stars I would. The new owner is super unprofessional and constantly changed the prices. I arranged to pick up my dog this morning and one of the employees texted me that the cost would be $210.00 if my dog was picked up by 12:00PM. Once we arrived to the facility at 11:30 the owner argued with me and stated that we have to pay $295.00 If we wanted our dog back. I was then forced to pay more money in order to get my dog. I would not recommend bringing your pet here. They do not care about your fur babies they only care about strong arming you at the last minute for more money. DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

My husband and I reached out to Dog on Fun to train our two out-of-control European Doberman brats :) They started to become aggressive with one another to the point we couldn't take them on walks without them fighting. During our initial orientation with Ian Ford, he saw how much they pulled, they were out-of-control, barking, and he recommended the "slip-leash" which we tried out. We noticed a difference, purchased the leash for both dogs, and immediately SIGNED UP for training sessions! We took them on walks with their slip-leash while providing corrections to prevent fighting. It was great. During our first training session, we introduced our dogs to the herm sprenger prong collar. Our dogs are about 100 pounds each, the prong collar provides immediate correction without hurting them. I tried it on myself because I wanted to make sure it was safe for them. Ian was informative about the prong collar and how it felt to my pups. I didn't feel any pressure from Ian about getting the prong collars. I'm glad that I did and happy with the results. We've completed three sessions with Ian and I'm happy to say we walk our dogs in our neighborhood on their prong collars without them pulling and barking. They listen to commands and we're learning about them as well. It's not 100% perfect but it's a work in progress that's showing. We've seen such a difference in so little time. Ian has even brought out a side of one of our dogs (who doesn't easily trust people) I've never seen before. I look forward to our continued sessions and the outcome. Ian is a great trainer and it shows. He analyzes your dog's behavior from the initial orientation and gently introduces techniques that work! He's not about over-pushing your dog and works on gaining their trust. He provides open communication via phone/text messaging so you can succeed. He goes out of his way to provide information, videos, sites, and activities that happen in the area for your dogs. He's economical. My Great Pyrenees mix has stayed several times now including a two-week stay when I had to go away for training for a new job. They sent me update photos of him while I was away, and he seems calm and happy when I bring him back for a stay, and when I pick him up. - I feel so glad to have found this kind and professional organization that has me feeling confident he is in good hands when I have to leave him. *** update in October 2023 -- a year and many visits later. We have two miniature poodles. They are amazing and since we love them so much we wanted training so they would react better around other dogs at the dog beach and dog park etc... Dogon Fun is real close by home so location was super convenient. We are a couple of sessions in and very happy. We were a little skeptical about the training with the pinch collar being they are so little and damn cute. Shireen explained that momma dogs bite their pups on the neck to train them and showed us a video of a beautiful golden retriever doing it. She has been real patient with us and of course the pups. She is real easy to work with as far as scheduling and flexibility. Our next session will be on Halloween where they can be around a bunch of other dogs and train.
