We really wanted to like this groomer. And, sadly, his work was not close to satisfactory. The only thing worse than his grooming skills = his unpleasant, condescending attitude. We brought our pooch here for the first (and last) time. When we picked him up - he looked the SAME as when we dropped him off. At first we were apprehensive to say anything.... but after our neighbors and dog walker said he didn't look any different... we had to speak up. Unfortunately, Matt does not return calls or texts. Therefore, we had to go back, in person, to speak with him. Wow... I wish we had recorded the interaction. He was so disrespectful and rude... we were horrified. It was beyond upsetting. We wasted so much time dealing with him. Having to go there to make the appointment. Commenting on how unhappy we were with the "grooming" and then.... he spewed off some impolite comments about us personally. What the heck, dude? Check your attitude. Appreciate feedback. My 7th months old sammy puppy NEVER stays still especially when we're trying to give her a nail trim. We've tried luring her with treats, toys, etc and we've never succeeded. Her nails were getting too long where she's slipping as she's turning. So I did a bunch of research because who wouldn't want the best for their fur babies??? We arrived to the shop and Matt was giving a dog a cut but that didn't stop him from welcoming us and making small talk. Matt was super friendly and even more friendly to our big puppy. We only had to wait 3 minutes and Matt was ready for Kopi. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. And Kopi was SO still the entire time. So our dog, Zippy, tends to be pretty difficult when it comes to her nails. We have gone through 3 groomers and 3 different vet offices - all of which had no luck in letting them cut her nails. I then spent about 2-3 weeks at home trying to de-sensitive Zippy to the clippers and it was just not working out. In comes Matt (recommended through a friend) - we walked in (no appointments needed for nail trimming!), I let Matt know Zippy was difficult, he asks me if we should put a muzzle on her (super nice - most don't ask), and within 2 minutes he clipped each and every single one of her nails. I was one that also called 3 times and never received a call back. So the next time I was in the area, I stopped by the shop to talk to Matt. Very personable operator. He was busy grooming a dog while we talked. His earliest appointment was 2 weeks away and today was the day. Matt's prices are very reasonable... $50 for a Maltese is very reasonable. Also, he was very good with both our dogs as neither came back stressed. Be prepared to go to the shop if you are a potential new customer as that's the only way to get ahold of him. Then be prepared for 2 weeks for a full groom appointment... which isn't bad as I used a mobile groomer early this year and it was 2 weeks out for an appointment. read more
