We have always taken our dog (Ruthie) to the groomers but decided to try out a mobile option for convenience and Ruthie's comfort. There are already a lot of positive reviews about Nina, and I don't write reviews very often, but I feel compelled because my dog loves her so much. I've got an 8-month old American Pit Bull Terrier mix from the shelter. He's about 65 pounds, strong, and energetic. Nina first saw him when he was about 4-5 months old. Of course when he's done, his coat is clean, soft, shiny, and smells great. But there are two additional things that stand out for me. One is how great Nina is at trimming his nails. I was terrible at it myself (and even hurt him one time by clipping too short; killed me). Because he's a big energetic puppy, he doesn't sit still for nails. So I hold him and give him little treats while she trims nail by nail (outdoors with masks on due to covid). She actually clips 3-5 quick little clips *per nail*, essentially shaping the nail. I'm blown away. (Apparently if your dog is OK with the Dremel-like grinder, she'll use that). The second is how my dog responded for the second appointment, which I always consider when assessing services like this. When I took him outside for his second visit and walked up to her van, as soon as he saw Nina and remembered who she was, he was overjoyed, pulled right towards her wagging his tail and now he even sings/howls with joy. He loves getting in the vehicle for his appointment. I go up to my apartment and Nina takes care of the rest. She texts me when it's time to come hold him for his nails. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about a mobile dog wash, but Nina has convinced me that this is the best thing ever! The entire experience was completely stress-free for me as the owner as Xena, my new furry accomplice, does not like riding in cars. Not only that, but Nina tries to park as close to your home as she can, meaning the wash is just outside of your door (or less than a block away). Nina was a real pleasure to get to know while she was rinsing and shampooing my dog-- She truly loves all dogs and has really dedicated her career and life to her business. After many subpar experiences with deliveries, movers, etc, I was pleasantly surprised to find out Nina had arrived at our appointment time. But not only this surprised me, Nina was also super gentle and great with Xena. I was dog sitting for my good friend who was out of town and due to Covid her poor dog had not been groomed in forever! The whole staff was amazing and so kind to her. Billy did an excellent job grooming her and he was so gentle with her considering she is 17 years old, deaf, and a little blind. First off, I'll be clear that this is not a review of Nina's dog grooming skills. I'm actually super bummed to write this as so many people seem thrilled with her work. We never got to the grooming as communication has been extremely challenging and disorganized. I called last week to discuss scheduling a bath a week out. Nina gave me a quote of $90-95 for our husky mix and asked me to text her to follow-up on next steps as she was working on another dog. I did so within a few minuets and added my husband to the text chain to loop him in. She confirmed she could do the day we wanted, but asked for another day that would work better for her. We agreed to the day she requested. Then she said she lost my texts the next day and we started from scratch again. She raised the quote to $110. My husband got on the phone to discuss the rate to get a better idea of the actual cost. Long story, short -- communication got more challenging regarding cost and scheduling. We mutually decided to part ways and now in search again of someone to work on our pup. read more

Nina very graciously squeezed us in recently when our other groomer cancelled. Our three year old golden retriever Lucy was being evaluated for therapy dog work, and she needed to be groomed within 24 hours of the eval. Nina to the rescue! I cant stop updating my reviews for this company. I cant emphasize enough how thankful we are for their services. We had to stop our monthly grooming with Nina because of health related financial reasons for a few months and she was extremely understanding and patient while we got our finances in place. This review is mostly for the extended effects of using Nina as our groomer. In the months we were unable to have her come out, we groomed our dogs ourselves, which used to be a complete nightmare before we met Nina. Our youngest dog Cali would constantly be trying to escape the bathtub out of fear and would shake and cry the entire time no matter how many treats we offered or how we tried to comfort her. However, this time it was like it was a completely different dog. She was still a bit nervous but stood still the entire time, was calm and listened to our requests. We could tell immediately she knew the process and was comfortable with what was going on. We know 100% Nina has treated our girl with love and compassion and it shows in Calis demeanor and behavior when faced with a usually stressful situation. We are glad to say our finances are finally in a stable place, and Nina very warmly and gladly put us back into schedule. My dogs immediately recognized her and as always were clean, shiny and happy. Shes gone the extra mile to wash my Bruce with special attention due to his skin problems, has even recommended food brands (vegan) that have helped tremendously with his skin and stomach issues, i cant thank her enough! I am the type of person that usually searches for reviews when trying to find a reliable service (this is how i came across Doggylicious) this is why i find it so important to update and give credit where it is due. I also usually look for the negatives right away to see what exactly i am up against. Nina is kind, caring and meticulous when working with our Boxer, Bentley. Whenever we need an appointment she is always extremely accommodating going above and beyond and often times fitting us into her already booked schedule. Each time she grooms Bentley she reviews all the work she did on him with us for instance telling us she cut his nails and that they were very long - small details like this matter.
