Our Patty LOVES Doggie Depot. Patty has been playing there for almost two years now, and she is racing in the doors when we drop her off. We want her to be safe, healthy, happy, and exhausted at the end of the day, and Patty is all of the above. The staff are so friendly and kind, and they know Patty so well. You can see how much they love dogs. Brian and Colleen (owners) were very thoughtful in creating the facilities (3 buildings because they've grown so much) and in training their staff. You can even see pictures of your dog on Doggie Depot's Facebook or Instagram. Dogs are assigned to one of three buildings based on dog size and temperament. Dogs get a one-hour break during the day to rest and eat. For boarding, you drop off your dog in the morning so that s/he is tired and ready for bed (standard and suites available). The rates are very reasonable, and if you purchase a package of 10, you get a discount. It's so much better than having a dog walker because your pup is happy, socialized and gets tons of exercise. read more

To all dog owners who take your dog here, please be aware an employee was seen striking several dogs across the face/head. Upon contacting Doggie Depot, the employees did not seem too concerned or willing to address the issue. As a fellow dog lover I'd want to know where I'm sending my dog is safe, and unfortunately I would not feel comfortable sending my dog here. Please note: This was observed from video footage in the lobby/waiting area and we could do nothing but wait for someone to come out so we could tell them what we saw. I really shouldn't be writing this review as I'm not the one being baby sat there, but I thought you'd prefer my opinion compared to my wet nosed illiterate companion, so I'll speak on behalf of her. Her face upon seeing me when I arrive to pick her up: Delighted of course. Not just because I'm a happy sight to behold, but because I think she's had a truly happy exhausting day. Normally, my back window is covered with disgusting slobber and nose prints galore, but SILENCE is all I get when I set my doggie in the back seat after daycare here. It's wonderful. And when I arrive home? Peace and quiet... I find myself looking for her to remember I own a pet... Normally I have a hyper spastic puppy, who click clicks her claws around my hard wood floors driving me slightly bonkers with her abundance of energy. Which is why this is such a great place. I don't get sad puppy dog eyes when I leave for work for the day. Instead, I get a jumping bundle of furry joy at the thought of a car ride to daycare. And the place itself? Super clean, with awesome friendly owners. Tons of people dropping their doggies off, so you know it'll be a good time for everyone. And the price? Pretty reasonable, half day is around $15 and a full day is $25 I believe. Not too shabby. While I wish I could afford every day, I use this as a treat to get some energy outta my dog. Makes her happy and me happy. I've even boarded her overnight once, and she was well taken care of. No worries! Highly recommended. I have a giddy, well socialized dog because of it! read more

I have never seen Fatty as excited for anything than he is when he gets to go to Doggie Depot. A typical Doggie Depot day goes as follows: - Tell Fatty he gets to go to puppy daycare - He commences whining and sitting by the door until it is time to leave - When we are about 4 blocks away, he starts howling and trying to open the car doors - When we finally get there he literally drags me in the door and over to the nearest employee to take him back to start playing - And then when I pick him up, I have to drag HIM out. I would give 10 stars if I could. It is a great place for your dog to get to run and play the entire day. And a million times better than any other boarding option that we have ever used (ie stuck in a kennel the entire stay). The owners and all the employees take great care of all the dogs and love them as much as the owners do. When he goes for daycare/boarding, I feel completely comfortable that he will be well taken care of and safe. read more

If six stars were an option, Doggie Depot would get them. I love this place. The owners are amazing. Last year I had a bad incident with how my dog was taken care of at a different daycare (only took her there because i live kinda far from Doggie Depot). Brian spent a half hour on the phone with me discussing the incident and making me feel better. When I was ready to bring her back to daycare, he kept an extra eye on her to make sure she would be ok. This is the only place I feel 100% comfortable leaving my dog. They are well trained and their staff are all amazing. They are skilled at preventing situations from occuring, but can also handle them effectively if they do. They are very intune to each dogs' different personality and needs. My dog is always excited when we arrive, and when I pick her up she is always happy and exhausted! I love that even after her first visit, they knew her by name. The staff get so excited when I bring her in, and that makes me feel great as her mom. This daycare is about 35 minutes from my house, but it is worth the drive! I have several friends and co-workers who use the Depot as well. Every one of them loves this place and drives just as far as me to bring their dog. Also great that you can watch how much fun they are having with daily facebook pictures and videos! read more

The facility is absolutely spotless. My dog comes home smelling better than when he arrived, I'm not kidding! The dogs are very well cared for and supervised. It is clear that the owners and staff simply love the dogs! They are kind, flexible, very gracious (my pup is the "happy piddler", pees when he is excited and they couldn't be nicer about it.), and thoroughly dedicated to the care, well being, exercise and entertainment of the pups. I am 1,000% comfortable bringing my dog here. He is as much my family as my children, so this is saying a lot!! Fees are very reasonable. I literally cannot think of even the smallest thing that could be improved upon. I wish I had found this place when I had my last dog. Meanwhile, Rory will be a client for life! I have been bringing my dog to Doggie Depot for a couple of years now. We have boarded him multiple times and take him for daycare every now and then, especially in the winter. I have only had positive experiences, and my dog LOVES going. He knows the way there and once we are a few blocks away he starts getting excited in the car. By the time we get through the door he is ridiculously happy! It makes it so much easier to go out of town knowing that my dog is having a great time and receiving great care. My dog has strict diet and medication requirements and all of our special requests have been followed to the letter. He is always happy when I pick him up and then zonks out for the rest of the night. This is an extremely well run business, especially compared to other dog daycare establishements that I have used in the past. One of the two owners are always at the front desk to greet the customers and welcome the dogs. They are always on top of things, like making sure vaccinations are up to date, which assures me that the other dogs there are healthy as well. One new, fun thing is that the staff posts pictures on Facebook so I can usually find a picture or two to see what my dog was doing that day. The owners are clearly dedicated to caring for doggies, and that undoubtedly comes from the love they have for their own three dogs. My dogs love this place! They are both very high energy, crazy pups.... this is their idea of a good time! The owners are fantastic, the staff is awesome. Chippy just finished his first day at Doggie Depot. I am BLOWN AWAY with the level of professionalism that came from Brian and the rest of his staff. Chippy is a stray we've adopted with anxiety issues, so I was concerned with how he'd feel at daycare. Not only did they give me a full report in the middle of the day AND at the end of the day, but they posted tons of pics of him throughout the day online AND gave me a printout that says who he made friends with (2 puggles which makes sense cause he looooves puggles :) ) I read the 1 star reviews on here and it sounds like to me those who left it are just bitter people with violent dogs that are not daycare material. I LOVE the honesty and attentiveness they gave to Chippy. For instance, they said he was doing fine day 1, but that he was a little nervous around dogs but loved people. They seemed optimistic about him becoming more social and making friends, which is our goal for our Chippy. HOWEVER, if Chippy decided to go and take a chunk out of another dog, and they banned him, I would be profusely apologetic, mortified, and would work to resolve the issue with a one-on-one trainer (because obviously, my training methods would not be sufficient). I wouldn't be writing undeserved yelp reviews. That is BOGUS, and I am outraged on behalf of Doggie Depot, considering how well this establishment is run and how amazing these people are. Anyway I digress.... the lady who gave me the mid-day report said "Chippy was so cute she just wanted to take him home"- and it sound like she MEANT it- and I was happy to hear it! Not happy that she would prospectively take my dog home of course (lol) but because she was being genuine. These guys are kind and patient with animals, and they seem to love what they do! I used to work at a dog daycare in a different state before moving to the Chicagoland area, so given some insider experience I had strict criteria when selecting a place to bring my pup -- and Doggie Depot has been nothing short of ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! They've been taking care of us for more than a year now, and over the course of that time Doggie Depot has handled every single one of our experiences (averaging two daycare days a week with occasional weekend boarding) with friendly professionalism and attention to detail. They are very responsive (either by email or by phone), and I have been especially impressed by their thorough and thoughtful insight specific to my dog -- with such a large capacity on any given day, that is quite the impressive feat! One specific example comes to mind that I feel demonstrates this point well: my dog was feeling out of sorts one day -- sort of skiddish, not his usual self (he's a rescue and can certainly be quirky); the staff watching him that day brought the issue to my attention when I came to pick him up and helped troubleshoot a solution (a change in scenery -- spending time at a different one of their three buildings). He loved the new building and has since become comfortable in all three locations again. Given that dogs unfortunately cannot tell us specifics about how they felt that day, it's likely I would never have known that my doggo needed to switch things up in order to feel more comfortable. The staff at Doggie Depot was dedicated to making sure my dog felt happy and safe, and they went above and beyond to help achieve this even though I as the customer would have never known there was an issue if they not brought it to my attention. They want to do things right, even if it means a little more work on their end, and that's something I really respect. I noticed one earlier Yelp reviewer was frustrated because Doggie Depot would not let their dog drop in for a few hours without having the proper paperwork/meet-and-greet process completed...believe me, the onboarding processes is a strong indicator of quality and that is what you WANT from your dogcare provider! By screening each of their clients carefully and keeping up-to-date medical information, they can ensure the safest possible (and most fun!) experience for all dogs. My brother and my boyfriend now also bring their dogs here, too -- honestly, Doggie Depot is such a fantastic choice: a consistent and fair business practice with great compassion for the dogs in their care. I won't take my dogs anywhere else. The place is spotless, the staff is well trained, and the owners bend over backwards to provided the best doggie daycare experience. I've been taking my oldest dog there since just after they opened. My most active dog LOVES The Depot and playing fetch most of the day. Sadly, my little boy failed their standards for behavior. For some people that might put them off a business, for me cemented my opinion of them. I would not take my dogs to a place that tolerated my "bad" dog's behavior. I want to know that every dog there has been temperament tested and is healthy. They don't allow dogs to just drop in without first being checked for both. I can't say enough good things about this place and it's owners and staff. Our dogs (Seymour, 65 lbs., and Thunder, 30 lbs.) love it. Like, they try to break down the door to get inside and play. I would never, ever leave them somewhere where I didn't trust the staff. They are like our kids. But we leave them at the Doggie Depot because this place is awesome. Once I asked to use the restroom while I was there. It happened to be naptime. The restroom was in the room with the dogs and I was shocked that they were all asleep. Shocked. No crazy barking. They were just naturally exhausted from having a blast. One time a staff member noticed some symptoms that we had missed at home, and it turned out that our little one had a UTI. I wouldn't have known if not for the vigilance of the staff. Seriously--I'm so grateful for this place. They really raise the bar. read more

Pepper and I just LOVE this place. I searched high and low for an honest, reliable daycare/boarding place in the west suburbs. After visiting over 5 different business in the Downers/Lisle area I can honestly say NOTHING even compares to Doggie Depot. 1. Extremely organized, as a Type A person I LOVE it!!! 2. CLEAN 3. Modern facility, the new boarding area is amazing! Your pup will have a blast with the agility area/pool on hot days/balls/chew toys.... 4. They are DOG people. This is not just a business. The husband and wife that own Doggie Depot actually CARE about the pups 5. Prices are comparable to other boarding options in the area 6. They are online. Ok who doesn't have a Facebook page? But Doggie Depot actually sends updates DAILY, with photos and video. So when you are miles away from home you can see what your beloved companion is up to. I have been sending my dog here for months now and I love this place! My dog was told to go to the building on the left side of the lot when you pull in, and the managers there are absolutely wonderful! They are genuinely happy to see both myself and my pet, and they are very knowledgeable of how my dog has been throughout the day. They let me know what toys he played with, which dogs he interacted with, and on one occasion they even told me when he felt a little under the weather. One day, and it was only one day, my boy limped on his hind leg after nap time. They told me that they kept an eye on it and it only lasted for about two hours, that my boy took another little nap, and then was back playing with a lab! I don't know about you, but I am very happy to have my pup in such caring hands! Now, the ONLY reason why this place did not get five stars out of five is because of the other building. It just doesn't seem the same as the one on the left. The main building, 635, has employees that are rather obnoxious whereas the building on the left the managers are eager to please me and more importantly my pup!. At the main building, on days when my dog is sent over there, I pick him up and the managers just hand him to me without even telling me about the day. They just say, "Here's your dog" and head back to their computers to talk to each other. They don't seem to care about you or your dog, like the other building, and they certainly don't seem to care about me. The company should really fix the difference between the building management! The left building is great while the main one is rude and unprofessional! In the end, this place is a wonderful day care for your pup. I cannot think of better people to trust my dog with then the managers at the building on the left! They are sweet, genuine, and eager to make sure my dog is happy (which makes me happy!) read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! I have a furbaby that I am very attached to and am thrilled to have found a place I can trust to take great care of my dog. Lucky loves this place, he can't get a it of the car fast enough when we pull up , he loves playing with all of his puppy friends. I have a larger dog (95lbs) and it's nice that the dogs are separated by size and energy levels. He comes home happy and tired it's just what he needs. I also board there and it's been great that I can check Facebook daily and see pictures of him playing and having fun, it def reduces my anxiety of leaving my pup if I am out of town. When I came to Doggie Depot I was very pleased with the services. Collen was generous in helping me get my pup into her facility based on his breed. However, I dropped my pup off this AM & the owner, Brian (my first time meeting him) stated I really need to call ahead before bringing my pup in. He came off rude with his approach & I apologized a few times letting him know that I didn't know. Then, as soon as I get home, I get a call from Brian that my pup got into an "incident". I asked if I could speak to someone re: what happened exactly so I can correct my pup's behavior. I was told by Brian that my pup "was being jumped on by the other dog several times then as the other dog went to go sit next to the handler my pup latched onto the dogs neck and they had to pry him off because he wasn't responding to his name." Problem #1: None of the dogs wear collars during daycare. I didn't know this until I saw my dog's pic on their FB. That is a huge risk the daycare puts themselves in for dogs that latch on, as the corrective action is to grab the collar & pull straight up until they let go. I was told that there were no injuries or puncture wounds to either dogs. If my pup would have "latched on" I can guarantee that there would be some type of injury. I drove back to the facility & I spoke to a staff members & asked her if she could tell me exact details of what happened. She said my pup was nose nudging the other dog (which he does to demand play) & while the other dog was siting by the handler nervous & stiff, that my pup latched on to the dog's throat. I asked her, but Brian said that the other dog kept jumping on my pup? She said no, that my pup was jumping on the other dog. Red flags appeared as I was told 2 different stories and that my pup can't jump, he's missing one of his back legs, which is only a few months new for him. I asked when he grabbed the dog's throat if it was a bite to the throat or grabbed the skin (as he does when he plays w/ my female). When she asked the handler she didn't address my question, she asked did my pup go straight for the throat. Therefore, I asked if I could see video surveillance for both proof & to see what caused the "incident" since I am a dog trainer. I was told that it would be difficult & take too long for them to go back to show me the footage. I also asked if they could later e-mail me a clip & they stated the system didn't work that way. May I mention this was an hour right after the "incident" occurred that I asked if I could see the video. I feel like there were missing pieces to the story. My 7 mo tripod pup has been there a few times & never shown any aggression to any of the dogs. He doesn't go on a daily basis causing him to get too over-stimulated. When I left with him I noticed a cut on his lower eye & his eye's blood shot red from being stressed. I'm not angry or basing my review that my dog is no longer allowed at the facility cause of their concerns. If the story they are telling is true, then I agree with them, he shouldn't be in daycare where the staff can't monitor the dogs better before an incident happens. After today, I would not allow him to go back there or to any doggy daycare for that matter. Because my concerns are why did the "incident" happen in the first place? Why wasn't my pup the "aggressor" taken away from a nervous dog 2 seconds when my pup engaged in the playful nose nudging behavior before it turned into an aggressive incident? I was told that the handlers went to remove my pup, but they were too late. I think personally they are taking on too many dogs then they can handle. I feel this "incident" is probably at fault of inexperienced handlers. Unfortunately, due to them not showing me what happened when they have the ability to do so, my guess is they are afraid to show me either something they didn't do or what they did do that wouldn't be to my likings. I can only give this review based on my lack of trust in their inabilities to provide me with sufficient factual reports as to what happened, their lack to show me proof of the incident, & the lack of the handlers ability to be able to read both dog's body language before an incident occurs. I will take my dog's social skills into my own hands as his handler as I have lost trust in daycare's to provide my pup with positive socialization skills In addition to the response below: First, he came in only 2 times w/o a call ahead before told by staff. This was a miscomm between my husband & I. Secondly, the reason I requested this facility was due to his medical needs. However, resulting in him contracting rashes on his nub, twice that both had to be treated w/ antibiotics due to their "sanitary" rubber floors. He hasn't had an issue since last being there. Now, a 3rd story arises "her dog put a hole in another dog's chest". I thought it was the neck & there were no injuries?! Lastly, there is a way to mimic daycare, it's called a dog park. I've been bringing my dog here for over two years. You can tell a lot about a business when you REALLY need them. When I had a serious car accident recently, they made sure my dog (who was with me at the time) didn't get taken away by animal control, checked him for injuries, offered to take him to the vet, visited me in the emergency room to reassure me he was safe, provided updates on his well-being during my hospital stay, made sure he got his usual food, and really treated him like he was one of their own family members (two-legged & four-legged). A lot of doggie day cares have sprung up in the area recently run by people driven solely by profit. And that's where this place is different: their values around quality care for our beloved pets were really on display for me, and I can't tell you how happy I am that I chose this place for his day care. read more
