Our pup Cinnamon stayed for a week at the OBKC, her second time for an extended period. We know she's in excellent hands for the attention, play time and care she gets while she's there. Aly, Beth and the staff at OBKC always follow through with any medication needs and provide us with updates on how Cinnamon is doing during her stay. Ps: This is the only place I trust caring for our furbebe while we're away. the humans at Oakbrook Kennel Club are the best and took the best care of me. My pawrents were nervous and their minds were put to ease when they heard how well adjusted I was. The staff at OBKC gave me cuddles when I needed reassurance and played with me one on one so I felt loved. They made sure my meals were just right, which is very important. They treated me like I was not just a dog staying over. I was family. The staff made up for everything and more. Extra attention. Extra kindness. Extra love. I felt safe. I felt seen. I even felt fancy, like I was at my own little country club retreat. They also gave me a bath before pick up as per dad's request. I was clean and fluffy and so happy. By the time my pawrents came to pick me up, I was excited to see them, but I also felt like I was leaving friends behind. That says everything. We finally found a safe, fun, friendly, wonderful place for our dogs! We came home to 2 happy, healthy dogs who were well cared for in our absence. We have had a tough time with boarding or having people watch our two silly dogs at our house. Most of the time, we come home to dogs that have been over stimulated and are sick. My first time boarding my two pets and I chose Oak Brook Kennel Club based on the great reviews I read. I was very impressed with how well organized the business is and how well the staff treated the pets. I had several questions prior to their stay and sent several emails that were always answered quickly. When I dropped off the pets, they asked in detail about their feeding. I had mentioned beforehand that I fed my pets a mixture of dry and wet food and asked if that would be possible at OBKC. They said absolutely as they wanted to keep the pets on the same diet as they were on at home and had a refrigerator to store the wet food. I was impressed by that. My pets returned home healthy and happy. They offer a multi pet discount of $5 per night. Overall, I was very impressed with Oak Brook Kennel Club and will definitely use them again and recommend them to others. read more

Once again Lucy is a very happy girl, had a wonderful weekend at OBKC! Lucy is a rescue from Lebanon and has always hated car rides but after the few few stays at OBKC, once we hit the highway she realizes she is going to see her friends! She gets excited and full of energy, no heavy breathing and whining and we we get there and she sees her friends, there's no looking back and time to say goodbye to us! 2.5 stars and angling downward.. This was a bad boarding experience. We boarded him (on short notice) and our guy came back sick, traumatized, and damaged... When asked for more details on how he got damaged and received a (snippet) lecture on dog behavior (as if we didn't know this) It definitely wasn't a great, and based on our dogs long recovery (diarrhea, separation anxiety) it has been a lot to manage.. We've boarded at Camp Bow Wow multiple times, and never had a problem. We have also boarded him at several other excellent spots throughout the country, and never had a problem at any previous stay. I don't think the standards of care here were excellent. Nor did I appreciate the "tip" feature when checking out. Kind of makes it feel like you are obligated to give something (and I wish that I hadn't tipped, because like I said, he was damaged, and traumatized) A tip for what? It's not a restaurant or coffee shop! Just really rubbed me the wrong way. This is the only boarder that has had that feature, and it was just plain weird. So contrary to many other reviews, not a 5-star experience in my opinion, and we are never going here again. read more

We just boarded our border collie with OBKC for ten days. Not only was she happy to get there when we dropped her off (she's been before, mostly for daycare) but she seemed almost unhappy to go when we picked her up. At least one of their team has experience with our high-energy, high-needs breed which gives me a lot of confidence. The people are very confident and friendly and the facility is very well-maintained and comfortable in the sense that it seems more of a home than a kennel. And yes, the trees and grass mentioned in their marketing are all true. One small additional positive in my estimation: she smelled great when we picked her up. Not like she's been in a pile of other dogs or pee. Seems basic but it's not always the case with other places. I highly recommend OBKC. ** Update Summer 2024 ** I've been fortunate to board my border collie / mini Aussie mix with OBKC twice this summer and everything from my first review still stands, and is enhanced. It's been almost five years my dog has been going here and they know her and she them and the experience keeps getting better. They seem to have some new young staff who seem great and my dog is still happy to show up there. When I pull in she knows where she is going and is excited. I've boarded my sweet little rescue, Vern, at OBKC twice so far and have been so happy with her (and my) experience! She's a very timid, fearful dog working on building her confidence and it seems like the team has been so accommodating to make her comfortable. She is also an escape artist, and I have been able to relax knowing she is not at risk of jumping out/running away from the facility. Just picked Savannah up today. She stays at the kennel often and loves it there. The entire staff pamper her so much, that she feels a little neglected when she gets home. But in a good way. I always get a pupdate on how she did and told how much they love her. I wouldn't take her anywhere else. Beth even holds Savannah's treats while she eats them on the way out. Savannah is apparently too good to eat them off a floor. Highly recommend OBKC to everyone with a pet. read more

I love OBKC. I've entrusted them with my shiba inu twice for extended periods (over 10 days), and my little furry baby comes home without evidence of being stressed or traumatized. When I used to leave her other places, she would always come home with the top of her nose raw from trying to dig under the cage she was kept in. But not here at OBKC - she's given a larger kennel for her comfort. It helps my family and me feel less guilty about leaving her behind. I also appreciate that OBKC is so accommodating and responsive, sending texts with pictures when requested, and being able to keep our dog an extra 2 days when our flight was cancelled last minute. The facility is clean and tidy - you can tell this is a professional operation where the employees are proud to work and they really love the animals they look after. After a bad experience with another kennel we were apprehensive to board our girl Coco again, but once I took a tour of the facility and met Aly and staff members, it gave us hope to safely board again. OBKC is a great place. I stayed here for 9 nights/10 days. They have treated me so well. I enjoy when they take me out to play. My space is clean (even when they have to clean up after my little mistakes). I sleep well. My parents left me food so I ate well, too. I brought my own bedding and a toy so that I can remember that I'll be going back home. I also visit OBKC for daytime stays. I get excited when I come here.
