STAY AWAY!! This is a very untrustworthy business! I will never board my dog here again. Read other Google reviews about people's dogs losing weight and getting injured and stressed out from being boarded at this disgusting dive of a place. I couldn't use my regular boarding place because I moved so I decided to try Paws in Paradise back in July 2021 based on the reviews. Everything seemed fine. They wouldn't let me inside the building or walk my dog back to the room, which I found very strange as my other boarding places do. So it seemed as if they maybe had something to hide, but I let it go. A week later I picked up my dog and HE SMELLED HORRIBLE! Omg he smelled like a dirty kennel! Based on how he smelled I don't think they keep the place clean and I question how well they take care of the animals. My dog did not seem okay - he was nervous and panting and wasn't acting normal. He's been boarded before and never acted like this when I picked him up. Also, he had a growth coming out of his head that he never had before. I swear it looked like a maggot!! I had to go to the vet to get it removed and he hasn't had one since. I would stay away!! I will never come back. I go to Petsmart now and they are amazing. We have been taking our dogs to Paws in Paradise for boarding for several years. Our dogs seem to enjoy their time there, and the staff have always been pleasant. They raised their prices back in December, which I totally understand. Unfortunately they have made their pricing much less transparent. We have two dogs, and the two dog price used to be very reasonable. Their recent increase for a single dog was over 50%, and they no longer list the 2 dog price without being a "Paws Club" member. I assumed that they kept the 2 dog discount that they have always had, and that the price for 2 dogs went up, but didn't go up 90%. I will no longer be using or recommending this place. They have priced themselves out of the market, especially for multi-dog families. read more

Awesome friendly staff & sale packages! the day care open hours are so helpful especially with my 44-1hr work commute and they're right off the highway! I was very nervous about leaving my dog at daycare but it truly is paradise for pups! He has some separation anxiety, and needed to get him to socialize more, and adjust to his new home. The staff answered all my concerns and questions, they stay up to date with events, know my dog by name(even when we took a break for a few weeks) & I love that I can pack a lunch for my pup as well! I was a little confused by the name. This same location is the location for The dog brow inc grooming. I've tried multiple groomers in the downers area and have always been disappointed. So I asked one of my groomer friends from the animal rescue I'm part of if she knew anyone. She recommended the brow inc and they just happen to be very close to me. Being that they have such a top rated groomer, I was a little worried that the prices would be very high but they are very equivalent to other prices I've paid in the area. They did a beautiful job on my whoodle. This is by far the best he has looked. My Easton seemed to love them. In fact, he didn't seem to care that I walked in. Lol. We had an incident where our dog was bitten also. The manager was awfully rude and condescending when confronted about it. He went on and on about how it was 'common dog behavior' and how they were not accountable for it. We aren't taking our dog and setting it loose with a pack of random dogs without supervision. We pay for them to watch over them. Yes, dogs will play rough. But wouldn't you at least notice my dog was bleeding? We were not told. It was a fairly nasty bite. She was horribly bruised and had bite marks all over her. I had to find out about it when my dog was dropped off and I removed her sweater. They could have at least apologized. Anything. read more

Questionable Management, Lax Supervision of dogs and NO sensitivity to alert Dog Parents regarding incidents with dogs. Briana ( mgr ) is nice but obviously needs to address the lax concern her staff has for dog supervision and communication with Pet Parents. Several checks on the doggie camera during our dogs day care visit showed a supervisor extremely engaged with his phone as opposed to watching the dogs or being engaged with them. Our dog apparently snapped twice at a dog during his visit.He was pulled from the group which I was fine with. However, he spent most of the day in a suite. Upon asking Chris ( supervisor ) why he had not called me, he stated that a call was made to our home but NO Message was left. No effort was made to call my cell phone which is my main contact. I took my 2 corgi here last week for day care. Reception seemed pleasant at the front desk. On real time camera though throughout the day no one seemed to interact with them so they looked bored and confused. The workers maneuvered them in and outside like livestock. Upon picking them up I was told my corgi nipped one of the workers and they had to place loop around her neck to move her. She was clingy to me for the rest of the day. I am writing this review a week later and she is still very clingy to me. Treating herding dogs like aggressive pound dogs seems like there is a lack of competency with staff. Especially if my dog's personality is to be submissive around strangers. I refuse to bring my dogs here again due to this treatment. read more

This is where our dog goes Mon - Fri while we go to work. We simply love all the staff at PiP and our dog, Ducky seems to love it there too! He gets to play with his friends all day while we work hard to afford him. The girls who work there are especially smitten to Ducky so make sure to take lots of pics for us. They have web cams so you can check in on the dogs but they are closed from 11:30-1:30 for lunch. During this time, the dogs can eat lunch, nap and relax. It's a great break during the day for the dogs who seem to appreciate having a set schedule. Paws also does boarding and I've referred a lot of people over there. My little guy Smoky has been going there for 1 and 1/2 years and I have ZERO complaints. They treat him as if he was their own. Our dog had never been boarded but they welcomed the first timer just great and even was able accomodate a last minute request. Our pup came back happy and exhausted. They have activities for the pups from outdoor play, water play on hot days, or indoor play based on pet size in an air conditioned room. They have groomers on-site too. You'll find cheaper options in the area but the accommodations are drastically different. They even accommodate dogs that might not like other dogs by keeping their playtime separate. Not a fan. Had a problem every time we boarded our dog there. From their laissez-faire attitude on keeping up to date on vaccine records, to over charging for a grooming session we never received (seriously argued with me....I know if my dog had a hair cut or not), to the final straw when they actually confused my 20 lb. dog with a +60 lb. dog that was boarding at the same time. Yes, these dogs had the same name, but after 5 days of boarding not a single employee realized that these dogs were in the wrong beds and being fed the wrong food. Actually brought out the wrong dog to me when we came to pick up our pup. After taking the right dog home we noticed she was uncomfortable and itchy. Vet gave us 10 days of steroids to combat the possible allergic reaction to being fed the wrong food for 5+days or maybe mange. I don't give 1 stars lightly, this is based on several poor experiences. I regret that I gave them my business more than once, should have known the poor customer service they give they human companions would also apply to our beloved pets. Look around...there are better places out there. read more

We have sent our 2 dogs here for a long time. Noticed that over time more and more dogs were coming there so started to worry about supervision. Boy was I right. This summer one of our dogs was returned to us after having been (their words) "impaled" and then an abscess formed and ruptured and left him in very bad shape. Staff only noticed because they sent him to get a bath and the groomer called to tell them, hours before I was coming to pick them up. I could understand not seeing an abscess if I had a dog with lots of hair, but I don't. My dogs have very thin skin and very little hair. When we picked him up, they were washing his bedding saying he must have had an accident on it. Yep, he did, because there was still blood on the bed...different accident i guess.... Yes they got him to emergency vet and yes they paid that bill. I left it at that. But after 2 nights of being up with a dog whose wound was so deep and serious that the care of it was very intense; and having called the ER vet and seeing my vet who BOTH told me that this should have been noticed much sooner, I called the manager. Unbelievable response. He told me that I should expect that "accidents happen" at places like this. When I mentioned that I understood that, but that this was a step further because they actually neglected my dog, as two vets certified, he became very hostile and insulting. Yes i had asked to be reimbursed for the stay because they did not provide the service I paid for. the had actually NEGLECTED my dog! And that neglect made the "accident" a much more serious matter. The managers response? No he would not reimburse me and further more, I was a money grubbing person (add swears in between the words) who should never be allowed to own dogs. Really? I really want to say that the ladies that work there have always been great -- and they were during this too. So when I talked to them days later, I was actually not hostile at all because I knew the ladies were trying. So let me re-iterate, I did not start the conversation with the manager in a hostile way. But oh my gosh, I could not have been more shocked or in awe of this manager and his response and language -- and yes I ended the call with a few choice words for him too. I have never written a negative review before for anything, but felt more than compelled to do this as I love my dogs and cannot imagine ever sending them back to this place. My injured dog is now completely scared of other dogs so boarding is no longer an option anyway. I have no idea what happened to him and neither does Paws In Paradise. Call me crazy but paying a few hundred dollars for a physically and mentally injured dog who was NEGLECTED just seems like a waste of money. The manager told me he doesn't need my business anyway -- they have plenty of clients -- I said that was kind of the problem, wasn't it... read more

The Dog Brow/Paws in Paradise is a Great place and did a WONDERFUL job with my pup!!! He's a hairy, fluffy ball of fur and about 55lbs. Just left my dog here overnight for the first time. In fact, we adopted her six months ago and this was our first time leaving her anywhere. She normally has separation anxiety if I even leave the room so I was ready for a nightmare, but the woman working there was so sweet and knew to give her a second to adjust to a new place and was so sweet walking her back that my dog did just fine. Now about the kennel, the webcam is great because I was able to check in and be instantly assured that my dog was doing ok. At first it seemed expensive, but once you factor in what you pay for extra "playtime" blocks at other kennels, it's a good deal (unless your dog isn't into playing). Also, they were booked for spring break like everybody else, but we were able to bring in her crate for her to sleep in. It was a life saver and honestly, with it being her first trip away from us, I'm sure the familiar setting helped. All in all, the employees were great, there's a live webcam to the play area, they're open 7 days a week and very accommodating/understanding. Will definitely go back! read more

Love Paws in Paradise, and more importantly my dog loves it! We bring our 2 year old pup here every Friday for daycare where he gets to run around and enjoy the day. The facility is HUGE, basically an empty warehouse with a large indoor area for the dogs to play (sectioned off for different sized dogs) and an outdoor area too. We've also boarded him for up to a week, where he gets to enjoy a little private room with a kennel. For a little extra they'll even give him Kongs overnight filled with treats and peanut butter - his favorite. The customer service is awesome too. The ladies that run the front desk are very friendly and we always chat when I drop him off and pick him up. The worst I've had was being put on hold a little longer than I would like, but since I don't usually call, it's not really an issue for me. All and all, couldn't be happier with his home away from home and would 100% recommend Paws in Paradise! read more

All of the people that work there are great and they truly care for the dogs. A couple things that I like about it is that it's a very clean facility and also you can check in via video to see what the dogs are up to. I have been taking my furry "baby" to Paws for almost two years and it's been wonderful. My dog loves going and it has been wonderful for him to have some place to burn off his energy when the weather does not permit being outside. I've also appreciate that they have been able to board him at the last minute when family emergencies have occurred. The staff is very friendly and a truly care for the dogs. I was given a tour of the facilities when I was first considering daycare and was very impressed with the cleanliness of each area as well as how they had the environment organized to support size, age and temperament of the dogs. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE! I repeat, do not bring your dog here UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO BE MISTREATED! For 5 months and our dog was going at least 2-3 times a week, they would just lock our him up in "singles" and NOT TELL US. This entire time we thought our dog was participating in group play and getting the attention he deserved, but instead they would just lock up our dog in a small room all alone because he was "too energetic". Really the staff simply could not handle him, especially if there were too many dogs that day. Even when I would pick him up and ask how he was in group play, they would STRAIGHT LIE TO MY FACE and say he was "good". Never once in those 5 months multiple times a week did they ever mention he was being locked in a room by himself. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED OR UPSET and they did nothing when we confronted them. Just received an "oh sorry" since we only found out because a friend started working there. He now suffers from anxiety and paces because of being trapped in the small room and having to listen to other dogs play all day long. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!!! Our new doggy day care is great. When we pick him up he doesn't want to leave and is actually so tired from playing, we have to lift him into the car. I had just moved to the area and needed to find a dog day care in a hurry. I called them the night before and they we're both welcoming and told me everything I needed to bring my dog the next day. My dog is a rescue, and he gets nervous in new situations with people he doesn't know. This was the first day care I brought him to where he immediately approached the staff with no hesitation. Paws in Paradise has excellent customer service and very friendly employees. The owner is definitely a dog lover and a very friendly guy! They are always willing to care to my dogs needs and help me to the car when I have too much to carry out. Payton loves going to play at paws, they have a very big play arena split up into 3 areas and always seem to get me in on a reservation when ever I need one. They provide everything you need as far as bedding, water bowls, and even food and treats if you'd like! They have very good grooming services, Payton is very scared when it comes to being bathed but they do a wonderful job- Payton always leaves fresh and tidy. He doesn't let anyone touch his nails but the employees do their best at getting them trimmed. I love bringing my dog here, I would recommend it to anyone! read more

We recently boarded our two dogs a large Bouvier and a Wheaton Terrier with Paws for a week and had them both groomed at the end of the stay. The employees couldn't be any nicer and caring of all the animals, it's really nice to see. The grooming was fantastic and both of our dogs looked great. Wanted a good place for my dog for a 6 day stay.(over christmas)We have boarded at other place in DG cuz it was cheaper,and just for a two day stay, but never felt comfortable and never went on a tour of the other place. (ignorance is bliss) Soooooo... started on my journey to find a great place. Loved the fact that the dogs play all day with the other dogs and are probably "dog tired" when it is bed time. You get to bring your own bed, toys, treats, blanket, etc. They are not stuck in a cage, they have their own "space" My dog came home very happy. We rescued our pup from a terrible animal cruelty situation about a month and very nervous about leaving him with anyone we don't know but on Tuesday we had to find someone to watch him. Added to that, he was just neutered so many places wouldn't take him in but Paws in Paradise welcomed him with opened arms! They have 4 cameras set up so you can check up on your pup through out the day so that put our minds at ease a lot. Though he was restricted in play, they kept him as active as he could be and loved on him so much! He was worn out and slept from the time he got home till it was time to get up the next morning (we had to wake him up for his nightly walk). I highly recommend taking your dog here for daycare, playtime, or boarding (they have staff there 24/7) and the prices are great!!! $24 for up to 12 hours and $39a night to board (they offer discounts for multiple dogs, and first day is free) Our pup Axle will be going there whenever we need it and also to get some extra playtime in. We LOVE this place! We got out first puppy in January of this year, its a LOT of work! She is a Golden Doodle with aton of energy and loves to play. I tried another place before I found "Paws In Paradise " And I was so upset, my puppy came home smelling terrible. I spoke with a neighbor and they suggested PAWS and we could not be happier. Everyone is super friendly and they love the dogs. I live in Hinsdale, so my puppy goes to velvet touch in the morning and Brian, the owner, takes the puppies from Velvet Touch to PAWS. Brian is a big dog lover and my puppy LOVES him! Nothing is to big of a deal for Brian and he is very flexible with pick up and drop off times. I am a little bit of a neurotic first time dog owner, so I tend to treat my dog like a human.....which is why I lovethe attention she gets and they also have cameras at PAWS, so we can check in and see how she is doing.... They play, rest, play, eat, play....go home and sleep! Its a great place. read more

I simply love this place. Service is good, girls at front desk are great, the building Is super clean. My dog comes home exhausted from his days at daycare and is well adjusted around other dogs because of his exposure to them on a weekly basis. I also love the webcam so I can check in on my pooch during the day and watch him have a blast. I have read some negative reviews from other yelp posters, and have to disagree that there is not enough supervision in the play area. I always see a person in the room with the dogs, always watching and interacting. I've even seen my own dog being reprimanded when he got out of hand. My only two complaints are that my dog did get ill in the recent dog flu breakout (but really, my kid got sick from daycare too- what can you expect, this place is uber clean) and the fact that if you pick up your dog after 11:30am when you board the night before, you are charged an extra nights stay. I think it would be fair if you pick your dog up by close, that you should be charged the overnight stay, plus a daycare day. Otherwise, I do highly recommend this service. read more
