This is an unusual review- I ordered from this restaurant from Grubhub and then cancelled my order because I had to leave unexpectedly. The 5 STARS are because even after I had cancelled my order- someone called me from the store to let me know they were actually closed and hadn't updated the delivery apps because they had experienced a loss in the family the day prior. I'm sure they hadn't seen that I had cancelled my order of my own accord yet- but the fact that they took the time out to apologize to me for something that needs no apology spoke volumes. This is a business working to take care of customers- even when the family is in crisis. I support this business 100% and cannot wait to be a patron. If this is what Grand Forks is like I'm happy to have moved here read more

Amazing hot dogs served by amazing people. 'Nuff said if you ask me but Yelp wants me to write more. Stopped here around noon on a Tuesday had the hardest time deciding what to get. I mean, have you seen the menu? So many amazing options. I went with two hot dogs which was way too much food but, #noregrets. The first was the 5th Bro. I loved the combo of the cream cheese, the mango relish, pineapple, and PEANUT SAUCE. YES! I wanted it and I got it. The Chester Fester was big enough to probably feed half of Grand Forks. Monster dog, LOADED with chili, a mound of mac and cheese, and cheetos. When I sent a friend a picture they asked if they were mini cheetos because they looked so small on top of the huge hot dog. Full size cheetos and lots of them! I hope to return someday when I'm in the Grand Forks area again (it would be worth going out of my way to return). Next time I'm getting the Poutine Weenie and the Mr. Roper....and maybe the Hobo A Go Go. Stop here for awesome food. read more

Looking for the best hotdog in town? Look no further. The DogMahal is a cool hole in the wall type retro restaurant /record /comic book store that has some of the friendliest staff. The hotdogs are big, plump, and juicy. I'm always on the hunt for a good Chicago dog or Sonoran dog. While they don't have a Sonoran dog on the menu... YET, the owner did say he has been asked a few times and was going to look into getting it added to the menu (he will be glad he did)! The list is pretty much endless on the menu of different hotdog combos. We went on Saturday and to my luck it happens to be Chicago dog special day on Saturday... a $1 off or the the 2 dog, fry, and drink combo (I think it was) $12.99 but can't remember. It didn't matter regardless because it was fantastic and so worth it. Keep an eye on their specials because they also have a waffle buffet pop up with all the fixings and live music on the stage towards the back. read more

Even more skeptical of a hot dog joint/record/music gear/stage for live music in the middle of Grand Forks, NORTH DAKOTA This place is way cool and the photos I Hope capture their essence. 2 owners slingin hotdogs in GFND out of a record shop-Fire concept! I ordered: Underdog - Dogma Arigato - Load cheese/chili fries The price may scare some at about $7 each dog BUT they are huge piled high with topping and legit a meal when paring one of there sides. Went into this store to look for records and upon entrance I noticed a smokey haze throughout the store. I understand they make food here but it was as if they had no air current the smoke just sat. My throat is still feeling sore from trying to browse their unorganized record selection. The smoke became so much I had to leave. The owners of the store had not said a word to me whole time. And as I left with nothing I was followed out by one of the owners of the store and accused of stealing from them. I showed them all's I had was my phone and bill collector and they tried to say, "sorry, we have to check every customer", as they noticed they were wrong. Could've asked if I needed any help and would've seen I had nothing from their store in my possession. Very odd and off putting situation. Owners seemed either too aloof or too racist to be in customer service. read more

What a special hidden gem in Grand Forks! From first glance it looks like a collectors dream of vinyl, comics, cassette tapes, etc... family run business I would presume and they couldn't have been more inviting. I can only assume the "Doghaus" was a newer edition and they kill it! Great prices, made to order in front of you, variety of hot dog style choices, quality ingredients. We got the Chicago Dog because it was their Saturday Special ($5) and it was as great as a tradition hotdog in Chicago! We loved it and will go back every time we visit Grand Forks! This place is so cool! Very unique selection of food-lots of hot dogs, but also gyros and poutine too! Laid back atmosphere with lots of comics and records, a stage area and other lounge areas too. Our hot dogs were great and the poutine was delicious! The server also brought us free Mac and cheese she had leftover from another order for our little one. Stopped there for records, son went in, looked at records which were poorly organized and place was full of smoke. He left with nothing but was followed out to the car by employee or owner wondering if he was going to pay for his items - he was carrying his phone and wallet only. Here at work I was tired of the same old, same old (I average ordering out about 1-2 times a month) so I looked online. I noticed that this place delivers! It's a bit costly, but my daughter and her friends were right - it was really very good! I will order again, and maybe even stop in now and then! read more
