Great location for B99 Biofuel in SF. Convienient location off 280, easy on/off. I fill up my 2006 jetta TDI here once a week. Price as of 2/2013 is about $5 per gallon. Nice touch that they offer free gloves too. The station manager, Drew, is very friendly and helpful. read more

Dogpatch Biofuels is great, I fill up my 3.0 TDI here. I was originally recommended this as an alternative to my local gas stations that offer petroleum based biodiesel from other TDI owners. Getting here is easy and very accessible from 101 and 280. Park, swipe your card, choose your pump, lift the handle, and fill, easy. The price is comparable to other diesel fueling stations at the time of writing this review. OK... In light of the fact that this is really the only B100 option remotely nearby, I went back and got some assistance with the machine. What was I doing wrong? The PIN is assigned by DPB when you sign up for after hours and fill out a form, NOT a credit card PIN. I run a local hauling business http://www.junkgeneral.com and let me tell you I fuel up here quite often. Their location is SUPER convenient, you can get on and off the freeway and it's awesome. Their fuel makes my older 2000 isuzu truck smell so fresh and so clean clean. Sure it's a bit more expensive than dino diesel at times but do you really wanna smell that nastiness come out of your tail pipe? The service is always great they have a convenient air compressor that actually functions... The people here are nice and they always have kambucha :) You don't have to be a hippie to feel good about not polluting our beautiful bay area. read more

Love this quaint little gem of a gas station. Local 100% recycled B100 is a rare commodity and that being said, the price is now on par or cheaper than regular ole diesel #2. Stopped by here yesterday for the first time. As the friends who rode along with me said, this is pretty much the cutest gas station EVER! And well, as someone who has frequented a number of bay area biodiesel pit stops over the past four years (from Santa Cruz to Berkeley with some San Jose in between), I have to say it's pretty much the nicest one I've been to. Prices are right, hours are decent, they take credit cards, have a buncha nice snacks & best of all - are in San Francisco! Hard to see the decline of this station. They do have a convenient way to get 99.9% Biofuel and that is great but the price is so high. $4.98/gal. The is $2 more than Dino Diesel . Hoping they can do better in the future. They need to clean up the station and get new window cleaners. read more

Dogpatch Biofuel is the BOMB. Robin and Michelle have gone through an unbelievable amount of bureaucracy to open Dogpatch and keep it up and running. Not only is the fueling experience pleasant here (have a nice chat with Marcie or one of the other attendants while you sip a great cane sugar cola), the fuel is clean and safe for your diesel vehicle. BioD is hassle to find in LA, and I think there's only one option in San Diego. Being green in San Francisco is so much easier with good options in San Mateo, Berkeley, Sebastapol (I think) and of course Dogpatch in San Francisco. As one of the other reviewers pointed out.. if you're driving a diesel vehicle in San Francisco, you're missing out if you don't fuel at Dogpatch. read more

Miguel, my Jetta TDI, loves this place! We are so lucky to live in a city where we can buy LOCALLY PRODUCED BIODIESEL at a competitive price!! I haven't been to a regular gas station in over two years. We are thrilled that our proximity to Dogpatch Biofuels has allowed us to support this great local business and minimize our support of the petroleum economy. I have never experienced anything but great customer service at the register as well. Very friendly, to the point where you feel like you are part of a community. Also, they have a small, but great, selection of tasty products in their store (sooo much better than the typical gas station). Think kombucha, coconut water, etc. Very important to me is that they seem to be the only purveyor of Reed Peanut Butter Ginger Candies in the entire city. I have looked for these things everywhere. Take note pregnant ladies and partners of pregnant ladies: these candies literally got me through the first trimester of pregnancy and morning sickness. No joke. These things are magic - the ginger helps with nausea and the peanut butter provides some protein and substance to settle the stomach. Highly recommended. read more

Having fueled up from San Diego to British Columbia, I can confidently say this is The Best Place Ever to get your biodiesel. Extra bonuses (as others have mentioned): B100, local/recycled sources, little store, and actual working shutoff pump! Freeway convenient and super-friendly folks are just icing on the cake. And no membership fee, just the usual, state-mandated paperwork (which they save online so you only ever have to do it once, even if you only pass through town occasionally). I think the only thing I could possibly ask for is 24/7 access via a credit card (having just gone through SoCal and been near bio often at odd hours). But lucky for me, I'm based in the Bay Area so the hours are plenty convenient. Don't hesitate to check them out, either as your new regular fuel source or if you're just in passing through. read more

When I pull up to clean, convenient easy-to-use Dogpatch Biofuels, I always think back to the bad old days: slogging through knee-deep mud with jerry-cans, a power converter and a battery in Pacifica. Or the pump that would be broken for three weeks at a time at SF Petroleum. And I get a little misty. But then I turn my wipers on and smile because I'm at Dogpatch. And the pump always works. O.K. I tried to like this place so much... I have spent soooo much money at this place to give money to the little guy. Even when it was almost $0.70 more a gallon. I always paid cash and tried to get a fleet discount since I spend close to $6000 a year on fuel but I was told to have a fleet acount you have to buy a thousand gallons a month?? At $4.25 a gallon the last time I went there thats $ 51,000.00 a year! WTF?? And for a ten cent a gal discount??? F.U. buddy! This is what really got me pissed...The fact that diesel prices shot up not to long ago and the second it did and biodiesel was less expensive that dino-diesel....Guess what they jacked the price up. Thats right they Jacked the price up for no reason. I asked and like always was told to contact the manager. I'm gonna guess that they are happy with their small time hippie customers and are not really concerned with making a real difference on fuel sustainability. If biofuels were ten cents cheaper that dino fuel for long enough for truckers to hear about it. They would be lined up down the street. Thats who buys shit loads of diesel. Hundreds of gallons! Thats Big! Not tree hugging hippies in their VW TDI Golfs buying 8 gallons of fuel??? really WTF? WTF? Don't get me wrong I love Those bad ass little Golfs too, but Dang! Lets get this stuff to the people who really consume tons of fuel. Its great to feel good about ourselfs and pat ourselfs on the back but green greed isn't the way we should get things done.
